I just got a chance to try this out. It is not asking me to try balancing the budget. It is asking me to try balancing the budget using only the proposals presented by the same men who got us here to begin with.

I also didn't like that the only option for a consumption tax was in addition to income taxes. Seriously, no one has proposed an alternative tax plan that made it through closed-door committee?

Wait, that is what that was? In addition to Income Tax, they were suggesting a VAT? Not "instead of"?

It was only 5% and didn't mention replacing income tax. As it was described, it was a purely additional tax.
