I'm all about pointing out feckless Republican ****ery, but there was no disaster relief funding vote yesterday. Tristan Snell, who surely knows better but has demonstrated a willingness to lie, is likely referring to the perhaps equally stupid near-total Republican opposition to government funding to avoid shutdown through the first half of December. Yes, that funding bill necessarily includes disaster relief, but it's deceitful to say House Republicans voted against disaster relief funding.

Turns out when someone is celebrating a big wedding anniversary it generally means they got married young.... wow... what a concept. If you get married later, you will have been married less time. This is groundbreaking stuff.
The goal is not a long marriage. It's a happy one. Divorce is a good thing if it helps people be happier.
This jerk will sit there are talk about how interested he is in female fertility, like it is an issue that concerns him, to the exclusion of independent women in the workplace, but will probably turn around and complain about immigration. Which is it? Do we need people or do we not? No, we need the right kind of people.
I hate this guy, and I'm not sure I've heard of him before today.

I think one of the lies at the heart of the current breed of conservatism is that they're simply giving people what they want and that most people support their curtailment of other people's personal liberties.
But to me it seems like they're giving a lot of people what they don't want and trying to enshrine this in law by weaponising the right of reactionaries to litigate against those fellow citizens they find undesirable in civil court.
They then justify this by characterising those others as communists and extremists who are harmful to society. To me they seem to be authoritarians in libertarians' clothing.
I guess the pendulum could eventually swing the other way and liberals and progressives could end up persecuting the conservatives they vilify in the manner that right wing propoganda is always talking about. But I don't see much evidence of this happening right now.
I wonder whether these CINOs privately acknowledge that they're a minority which is increasingly unlikely to gain power by legitimate means and that this inforrms their opposition to electoral reform and constant efforts to game the voting system via gerrymandering and voter suppression.
