Continental Sports Car Challenge

Hey I think you need to update the first post on here with the new cars and stuff

SubaruWRC555
Any chance on including the 07' or 10' STI's or v12 vantage, ruf rgt, mustang, etc....

Depends on interest in what class, those are all gs cars, so if gs fills up fast then we may add more cars to that class

I was just going to bring this up, the bigger class needs the M3, Camaro, V12 Vantage, STi, and Mustang.

I'm interested in this series. In fact I started to race in the original version of this the PaulMac was talking about on Page 2 of the thread. I'd also agree about the cars quoted. I actually gave up on the sereies 'cause I chose the Mustang as PaulMac stated, it was a dog.

After spending countless hrs. on different tracks trying to get it even with the M3's in that series I thought I had every thing worked out with the guy running the series and then he slapped a whole different set-up at me the day of the 1st race. The big problem with it wasn't that it couldn't lay down fast enough laps but that the front tires fell off way to quick, M3's could get almost twice the laps before having to pit. After all the effort I did testing and keeping him up to date of the changes I tried, which mostly consisited of adding power and ballast, to keep the power to weight ratio the same, and customizable tranny set-up to 2011 Boss Mustang ratio's (as he wanted to keep things factory based and this was the only car running a 5 speed from the dealership), he agreed with them and then squashed everything the day of the 1st race at Daytona Road course and only allowed a few extra hp and told me to run RH tires in the front only while everyone else was on 4 RM's. This didn't work at all. Made the tires last only a little longer but killed corner entry for the whole stint. Couldn't get him to understand that fast laps don't mean didly during a 25 to 30 lap race, you have to take tire wear into consideration. I never got to try that final set-up during a race. We had like 2 or 3 practice races before the 1st race and we kept working on it the whole week after the last practice race and then all of a sudden come race day he pulled that on me. Still a bit peeved at it. One of the M3 guy's I think told him what laps times he was running at Daytona Road Course and that the Mustang was now way faster. I told the guy what I thought the M3's could run and it was only a few tenths quicker at the beggining of the tire stint and still falls off pretty quick and everthing would even out 'cause I'd have to conserve my tires. Guess he believed the other guy. Low and behold, on race day that M3 guy was running laps faster than what even I said it could. I ended up getting lapped by 2 out of 3 M3 drivers. Finished 4th way behind the 3rd place M3 with a guy in 370Z and a Suby STI behind me, they were all over the place. Then the M3 guy says that was the 1st time I'd run laps that fast with it. But he was able to do them consistenly, all the sudden come race day. Gimmie a break I said to myself. That's why I quit the series, felt like I got hustled. Think I had it with like 35 extra HP and an extra 150KG ballast to the rear on my set-up and he didn't like the fact that I could get around the oval section of Daytona a wee bit faster. I tried to tell them that this is realistic though, 'cause your still able to make it up on the road course section, just like the real cars, and just like the real cars I'll be giving up that advantage when my tires wear quicker. I just wanted to have a competitive car that didn't give up 2 sec a lap after 7 or so laps.

Also that series mandated Sport suspension so the front tire problem couldn't be tuned out. Don't know what your plans are for suspension.

We will be allowing fully customizable as long as the lower class drivers aren't staying up with the higher class from start to finish if that happens something is gonna happen with the lower class rules

I'm really glad your interested in this! Our goal is to run these races before the Rolex races... But this isn't really ready to start unfortunatly. I'm still torn between races Friday or Saturday. And if I have to spec those cars in, that'll take time too. This series was kinda put on hold because of the Rolex series so I'm going to have to really get going with it.

Well the classes are far enough apart so well just do fully customizable

Ya but I'm saying if someone cheats and finds away to keep up with the higher class is that what we are gonna do if that happens

Yup great all we need is people intrested in the series

Yep, I intended for most of the Rolex guys to race this, but they all seem to be doing other things too... And times will need a bit of tweaking.
