It's probably the 1 car that has risen so much in value yet hasn't been out of production for a decade

That and the Enzo which has gone mental.

Sadly for the Corvette lot, they'll never recoup that markup. Well, they might if they hang onto it for 50 or 60 years. But nobody really buys a new Corvette as an investment.

True, but being a supercar Ferrari, it was almost expected; F50s & 288 GTOs are well above $750K now whilst I think the giant production of the F40 has kept it lower. I'd be willing to bet the LaFerrari values raise within' a few years as well, though.
The Carrera GT on the other hand is another fine example finally raising in value. :)

Completely right on the Corvette as well.

It was absurd (not occasional though), but now-a-days, I find it hard for any Ford GT owner to complain about what they paid. It's probably the 1 car that has risen so much in value yet hasn't been out of production for a decade; there are dealers on DuPont "fighting" to get them into their inventory. Has to say something about the demand of it.

If an owner did pay $240,000 for his, then hopefully he still has it & it hasn't seen many miles. That's right around the average price for a 1,000 mile example at the moment, so the value is just going to keep going.

While true, I do remember a period (circa 2008 I believe) when they were selling second hand for 100-150k, so I'm sure quite a few people lost their shirt on them.

A few years ago, I'd agree. But the F40 has been gaining huge value recently. If you ever watch that show FastnLoud, they sold a non-original F40 for $900,000. edit: this doesn't seem to be a good example because there is quite a bit of controversy about what actually went down with the F40

Here is another, not super-low-mileage, for 729k

The cars sold new for $140,000 from 2004-2006. For a car to depreciate so little 2-4 years later is rather amazing considering that anyone buying a car should know they'll lose their shirt on them; cars are terrible investments.

Well, I didn't say they weren't. They're just not at the average value of 288 GTOs & F50s because of the giant production in comparison. The former 2 cars' values are typically dictated by whatever the last 2-4 cars sold for on the market because there's rarely any more than that on the market a year; most change hands privately & a GTO owner has more than likely received a substantial offer once in ownership because of the demand.

The F40 on the other hand, always has examples for sale. That particular example is a bit high, despite actually being well known for those wheels. The average for the F40 ranges around $500K to $750K for low-mileage examples whilst the F50 & GTO value around $750K all the way to $1 million. GTO values have doubled over the last 6-7 years & F50 values have been rising over the last 5. The F40's will rise as well, but again, production numbers keep it as the most "affordable" Ferrari supercar.

As for the Gas Monkey car, it's only hope at regaining any value is it now being famous. Ferrari themselves, won't validate the car which will actually kill the value of the car due to the modifications they did to it, structurally.

As a Viper Fan i'm not 1 bit scare of this C7-R.. Srt is finally starting to find there legs  in ALMS :) and the Race at road america makes my point 👍

I like team SRT Viper as well (not as much as Corvette Racing though). That said, Corvette is pretty dominating. The caution helped Viper beat Corvette at Road America. Corvette is the defending champs from last year, and they are leading in points this year, Viper is 3rd. Corvette won the 12hrs of Sebring too. I do love the Vette Viper rivalry again and agree the Viper is getting comfortable and starting to shine. And with this being Viper's first year back they are doing great. Just don't downplay Corvette lol

yes but if you saw that race you saw Viper did have the speed over the vettes. How many times in that race did the #91 or #93 pass the #3 and #4 vettes .... That.s a good sign that SRT has the speed now to keep up with the Vette :) and lets not forget the two poles now in a role..:)

Found a pic of a base model without the NPP exhaust. Seems like they're spaced a bit so there's a bit of gap between each set of mufflers. I wish they would have done that with the NPP car's. Also, is it just me or does the rear end look better without the body width spoiler? It seems to show off the rear end's muscular shape without that spoiler. I quite like it.

It does look quite a bit better. Y'know, I've come around to thinking that this car would look pretty stunning if all the vent work were body color.

Difference of opinions I suppose I think they look nice as contrasting colors to the body. Then again, I've seen pictures of a black C7 where everything blended in and it looks gorgeous. Don't listen to me though, I'm too much of a fanboy of the damn thing... I can't help it.

Seeing as the Canadian MSRP for the C7's are now actually almost in line with the US pricing I might go down to the local Chevy dealer (or one that will get allocations for one) and build one and see where that goes. If the dealer can get me a good trade in for my C6 it'll be very tempting.... I'll take a 2014 Z51 with the black wheels please. (Can't decide on red or white...) I'm more interested in the mechanical go fast bits so it'll most likely just be a 1LT car. Actually, if I end up owning one I can say I own two vehicles with an LT1.

Found a pic of the black one for reference.

I agree with that. I guess that's what aftermarket parts are for.

Now this image makes more sense, as suspected...it's the future performance model. The wheels are identical. Other details like the bigger rear spoiler can be seen too. And I suppose the body colour rear diffuser/cladding and the bigger vents are some of the others that can't be confirmed, but seem likely.

Wasn't there a Z07 package that you could get on the Z06?

Yeah it was a suspension performance package and carbon ceramic brakes (rotors, pads, the whole shebang) mainly if memory serves me. Also it started in 2011 along with the CFZ package you could get on the Z06
