Corvette C7

The Corvette is a huge amount of car for the money. It's one of those cases, though, where it's really hard to tell just how good the car is. Everyone wants it to win because it's the underdog, but now it's actually good enough to compete on nearly every level. If I was in the market for a £90k sports car, I'd wait until the F-Type R came around, but in the meantime I'd test drive the C7, 991 S, and R8 4.2. In the end, it's about what car makes you feel the best, and I think each one has a pretty equal shot at that.

I'm easing up a bit on the C7's looks. It's finally starting to grow on me. I do think the new C7R (the racing variant) looks great.

This isn't a knock against the Corvette, I just don't think these are the cars (again, probably bar the Jag) are really on a competing level any more.
I think I agree with this. The Corvette has remained true to its market here in the States. They've managed to ever-improve the car without the price skyrocketing, unlike Porsche where price seems to be a square function of improvement.

Then again, Porsche is immensely popular in the US, just like all the other Euro brands, because wealthy people are willing to pay for status.

Also, a note on Chris Harris's video. Tell me again which one of those cars he keeps smiling in? I didn't see many smiles in the Porsche. Maybe he's really gung-ho on driving precision and maximum performance but the Corvette sure looked a lot more fun.

If you've watched his videos, he always smiles when he power slides the cars everywhere. Which apparently, isn't a difficult feat for the Corvette but also ended up being a drawback against it in comparison to the 911 when it came down to the setup underneath each car.

I can't tell if this Corvette is an Autobot or a Decepticon.

I know the movies made all GM vehicles the heroes, but this one looks like a villain. Especially in black.

O
It certainly looks bada**, but...

I'm not sure why - when I first saw the new Z06, in yellow, it felt much like Power Ranger material. Slightly tacky and cartoonish to my eyes at first sight. Not that I disliked it.

It looks more serious in gray though.

Oh no, now I can't unsee that

Sorry...

Just go back a few pages and see the one in gray. Maybe that will help.

Anyway, once reviews of the C7 Z06 come out, you will probably see it doing powerslides and leaving a trail of tire smoke, so the Power Ranger impression is likely to fade off.

I don't care what the Z06 compares to, it's about the hottest thing I've ever seen.

When is production of the Z06 starting? I'm going to the factory tomorrow and I'm wondering if I'll be able to see any there. Cameras aren't allowed so getting a picture would be difficult, to say the least.

edit: Apparently it won't be available until early 2015, so production will start in late this year most likely. :indiff: Oh well. I will be able to add a couple hundred C7's onto the 500 or so I've already seen. :D

Wear a coat or hoodie with double zippers, put your arms inside, line the camera up with the hole between the zippers and shoot away.

Too late. I went last Thursday. I tried a few times to get pics but I couldn't get anything, it was all too blurry and bright. Being paranoid about people in my group and the workers watching me for taking pictures didn't help, either.

You just got to be sneaky about it, like this:

Another 1000+ whp C7. This is from LMR. 1,121 rwhp and 992 lbs torque. Without a shot of nitrous it puts down 990 rwhp and 942 trq. They said with a bit more testing/tuning it will put down over 1,000 rwhp without any nitrous.
