the cars that we are replacing the camaro and the firebird with have more grunt.

ok can anyone get me some quater mile times (real- life) on the Vette and the Viper stock. This kid who thinks he knows about cars but really doesn't know jack told me his daddy's vette can do a 1/4 in 8 seconds! Can you believe this crap??? I know its not that., but could someone please tell me the real 1/4 mile times so i can shut this kid up.
 
i know this kid is bugging the **** out of me thinking this can be.
 
The Dodge supercar range is still very young compared to the vettes, which have been around for a lot longer, they've had time to develop the car and look at the market

although the Viper is still better :P
 
take the viper, 8 litre V10

take the vette 5.7 litre V8

viper has much bigger engine and more grunt but the vette is still up with it.

chrysler should take a look at a smaller engine and a lighter car...might be more successful :lol:
 
thats true mace Dodge doesn't have the Sports car respect as Chevy's got.

2002 Viper ACR (Fastest Current Model)
0-60 (3.9secs)
1/4 mile (11.9 secs)
 
There are a select few on corvetteforums.com that have gotten 11.9X's in the 2002 Corvette Z06 with absolutely zero modifications. That means the stock street tires also. There are also a few people who have gotten 11.95's in the 2002 Z06 on drag radials...:rolleyes: Truly shows that knowing how to drive a car is a must when drag racing.
 
i am sorry, but have u seen the lingerfelter vette stats!
its 0-60mph is under 2 sec! (1.97) and 0-150mph in 9.21 sec!

I still think vipers look better, but no one can argue w/ these!
 
Well I turned in my Research paper, all 12 pages of it. There's alot to write about the Viper and Vette. Any way I hope the teacher agrees with me on my views.
 
I think for the money the Vette is not very far behind the Viper. The Vette has better handing. And tops out at 170. But the viper has a V-10 and costs 75,000. I don't think they should be compared but If chevy spent enough time with the ZO6 It would blow away the viper. If the Vette was $75,000 I'm sure it would be everyone's choice. The Viper needs to be compared with something else.

see all you viper mongos, a car with less power does an equivelant 1/4 mile. get it india. GO THE VETTE!
 
Do any of you actually own a Corvette or Viper? Just wonderin'...

I'd take a Viper if I had the money, but the Corvette ZO6 is just as great.

And I don't see why people try to say the Viper is soooo much better based on it's specs. It's only marginaly faster than the Corvette. :lol: Most people who own Vipers also have Corvettes too. :rolleyes: :P

I've only driven the C5 A4 drop top and I was blown away. As much as the ZO6 feels like a Trans Am or Can Am racer compaired to other GTs like the 911 C4S or NSX, the Viper is most likly even more ballistic. But if you read up you see the added extra weight makes it perform closer to Corvette/360 Modena territiory than something like an aftermarket modified turbo 911 wonder.

Plus the LS6 sounds better than the Vipers motor... however this si supposed to change with the 03 model. :embarrassed: :D
 
I've concluded that these cars are very evenly matched. I've any one wants to see the report just PM me and I'll send it to you.

No I'm only 17 I can't afford the insurence on a vette or viper. Nor the price tag. My uncles got a Viper RT/10 and he's let me drive it before and a friend of my dad's got a Z06. They both drive great!
I think I liked driving the Viper more though. But the Vette was really great too.
 
I used to drive my ex-girlfriend's mother's 2001 Z06 all the time. It was truly an awesome car. If I were to go out with that girl again, getting to drive her mother's car would be the only reason in doing so.

my uncle is kind of pissed off with his gts,it just has tooo much power!!! he has to always press lightly on the gas pedal because
it has a hms intake that gave him a total of 478 horses...... :fdevil:

i dont even keep track of how many rear tires and tickets he got :lol:
