Could someone explain this new GT5 feature?

Based on what I can gather with Babel, you can use 4 PS3s to use a huge screen with each PS3's output being a 1/4 of the screen.

Could that be a front, left 1/3rd, right 1/3rd and rear view? Can't see the point of splitting the forward view four ways... Well to be fair I can almost not see the point of splitting any view four ways, but I'm sure if I won the lottery I'd change my mind

4 PS3s are shown being used to drive Sony's cinema-grade (8 million plus pixel) projector to get a final image with 4 times the standard 1080p resolution. The image is not (and cannot be) split between monitors since there is only one output device.

This mode appears to be designed only for various demonstrations/car shows/etc. where the high resolution can be used to wow the public. As much as I would like to have the setup shown, it is way out of my price range. The projector retails in the neighbourhood of US$ 40,000.

Whats with the 240fps part below it, like you can use 4 PS3's to get 4x 60fps to achieve 240fps (I assume in regular 1080p). That seems more pointless than 4 x1080p resolution.

This does lead to a good chance multiple PS3's can be linked to give the 3 screen wide setup that was possible in PS2/GT4 (atleast one GTP member had it), that was a cool feature, hopefully it will return.
