Course Maker: how big is it and when can we expect it?

The rally courses that come with the game are good, but half the fun of rally is racing on tons of different roads. I miss having the course creator a lot, it was so fun to make tons of different courses to drive rally cars on in GT5.

The course makes is a huge reason that I purchased the game on release day. Realizing it was not there was essentially heartbreaking. Yes, I had a new game, but aside from the physics updates it was basically GT5 again.

As mentioned, the course creator, even as implemented in GT5, adds longevity to the game. The notion of a GPS based creator really peaked my interests, as I'd love to map some local roads that I never got around to creating as tracks in rFactor or GTR2.

The ability for players to take their favorite driving road back home, digitize it and then tear down it in a 458 Italia without the restrictions of real-world driving laws is an alluring one for sure. Being able to share that content with your friends and players across the world just makes it an amazing feature that the community would surely embrace.

paskowitz - I agree fully. Not sure why the moderators choose to lock Is the GPS Course Maker Still coming to GT6? It is not the same topic as this post.

I am reasonably sure we'll get the course maker at some point (a limited version was in GT5 after all), but the lack of any discussion/updates on the promised ability to record GPS routes with a smart phone and upload into the course maker has me worried that this feature has been dropped entirely. I would love to hear from PD that this is still on the 'to-do' list for GT6.... or at least on hold until GT7 and not dropped entirely?

Ummm you did read the OP, right? There is no mention of the promised GPS app until the 12th post.....

But to ask about the GPS app is pointless until we have the actual course maker itself.

That has already been answered on the GT website anyway.

I used the course creator a lot in GT5.
I would create 5-10 random tracks and have my buds over for spec racing time trials. Racing on new, unknown courses is a hell of a lot of fun and teaches a little patience.
Rinse and repeat the next week and the next week.....
I miss this feature and would greatly appreciate some form of it back.

Nope, this is just a video game. I'll just go to YouTube or go to a car show if I want to hear real engine sounds.
Try playing the game on mute then. Like it or not, sound really is half the experience and I'm sure even you wouldn't complain if they were improved.

No, I won't complain, but, I don't require much more than the reference of where the engine is. I've been around an unmufflered car. I don't want to wake up my neighborhood EVERY time I play! ;)

I'm talking about the quality of the sounds, not the sounds themselves. I wouldn't buy a racing game without sounds. And of course I wouldn't complain if they were improved. I would be close to indifferent.
