It would be nice to simply sit back and appreciate that anti-maskers are announcing that they're really just giant pussies, but their refusal--and their encouragement of others to refuse--to perform this really minor task puts other people--some of whom I care for, who are considerate and perform this minor task--in danger of contracting a deadly virus, while also kneecapping the healthcare system and compromising others' ability to receive emergency medical care unrelated to the virus.

It would be nice to sit back and watch these worthless sacks of **** kill themselves...good riddance...but as is so often the case with the inconsiderate, it's not only them who are at risk of dying as a result of their action/inaction.

I had the same discussion with my father a few minutes ago. Not the killing part though.

I don't know who said that or where.

Oh that's just part of the false positive nonsense. Of course he didn't care to entertain discussion when I pointed out why it's irrelevant, and just keeps preaching the same claptrap.

Let's just assume for a moment that an 'improved' test would result in, say, half the number of positives. It's only a measurement, so it wouldn't change the number of hospital admissions. Therefore, any trigger threshold for restrictions based on a worrying level of cases by positive test would have to halve. Oh wait, that doesn't change anything, so as I said, it's irrelevant.

Not an echo chamber of closed minds that attacks anyone posting information that they do not like.

You're the one doing this. You're the one ignoring the discussion around information you brought up. What you apparently wanted was people to just look at what you brought and agree (like obedient sheep), and when they didn't, because they examined it, you got upset. That's closed minded. That's attacking people posting information you don't like.

You brought bunk information. Intelligent people (who actually do know the field) took the time to explain to you why it was bunk, and you responded by not considering what they said and instead claiming persecution and going on the offensive. Re-evaluate your behavior.

Wow...

Honestly, 🤬 anti-maskers.

Over the past three-ish weeks I nearly lost my dad, I saw two close friends end up in the hospital, my family lost four close friends, and my wife's family lost two. I've seen my workplace stretch to the breaking point and seen people turned away for care for things other than COVID. I've seen nurses burnout, doctors quit, and support staff die. The people who aren't taking this seriously should be the ones who suffer the consequences, but unfortunately, they won't be. My dad, who's done a ton to protect himself, was infected by one of these selfish asshats who constantly preaches how COVID isn't a problem and is just a libtard hoax. Seriously 🤬 that guy and people like him with a rusty spork.

However, I've worked rather tirelessly with a group of people since just before Thanksgiving getting everything needed for our vaccine clinic to get up and running the moment we got our shipment. The truck dropped them off early Tuesday morning and we were stabbing people not even 8 hours later. I've worked, at a minimum, 12 hours a day for the past two weeks, and yesterday I pulled a 17 hour day, got 5 hours of sleep, and I'm set to pull another 16-17 hour day today to help get employees scheduled and do all the back end work that needs to be done since we don't have spare people that would normally do this. Seeing the reactions of the staff made it all worthwhile though. I'm doing this all from home but we're all in a Teams meeting and when the first doses were given people were cheering, clapping, crying, and popping bottles of sparkling grape juice (I mean it's Utah).

I'm not agreeing with the killing part, but this refusal to protect others with following simple rules is mind-boggling. But also not unexpected hence my early stock up on ffp3 masks and gloves.

Aren't these people ones who usually talk about nation and border protection (if we presume Trump association)? And now when they can do something to protect the nation they turn into special snowflakes?

On behalf of all those people you are helping and all those who appreciate how much people like you are needed in this difficult time, thank you.

I share your dismay at those who are not only refusing to help, but who are actively making things worse - either through pure selfishness and/or pure ignorance. Sadly, that is something that is not going to change for the better any time soon, but at least there are decent people out there who are doing their utmost to mitigate the effects of this virus and the behaviour of people who still don't get it.

Meanwhile, the UK records its highest ever daily case numbers at over 35,000 in a single day.... and the government are sticking to their plan to ease restrictions on household mixing in just 6 days time. Who knew that virus outbreaks and public holidays don't mix well...

Being over zealous with anti-Covid measures, i felt cold anger for two days when I've been told i was Covid+ at the hospital, thinking of people setting giant illegal parties undermining - no, sorry, destroying - hard efforts of others.

I'm not agreeing with the killing part
I think @TexRex wrote this not in the way that he would wish a driver without his seatbelt to be hurt, but rather in the way that he would prefer a drunk driver kill himself in the accident instead of the passengers of the car he crash into.

TB
My wife got a call an hour or so ago. They wanted her to be in at 6:45 tomorrow morning for her vaccine shot. She has something scheduled for 7:00 so she had them move her to 4:00 tomorrow afternoon.

I'll report back it she grows any new appendages or anything.
No extra eye or prehensile tail yet, but it's still early.

Any painful side effects? Read a news article today stating (as before with the trials), many will experience a lot of discomfort for the first 24-48 hours.

Reporting from Mexico again guys.

Yeah, as expected, things are getting worse :( The government in Mexico City refuses to make the call to shut down everything as we are closing in to 80% of occupation in hospitals.

80. FREAKING. PERCENT.

Seriously, what are they waiting for? :banghead:

Relax, they just need a better test and it'll all be over...

So these cases existed before the late reporting, they didn't happen once they were confirmed in reporting. So the normal causes are to blame. Got you.

What are these normal causes you blame?

Edit:

Is there anything known about long term effects of these vaccines? I'm not an anti-vaxxer, I've had most of the common vaccines and my youngest kid was vaccinated just 2 weeks ago. But I have some concerns about these covid vaccines and I know many people who feel the same.

Probably screwed either way.

Good thing or else you'd also be in trouble... probably.
:sly:
Be patient. I hear it takes 28 days for extra appendages to develop.
*adds note to calendar to recheck on January 14th*

Still early but so far nothing. She's expecting it to be like the flu shot.
I've got $5 on amoeba-like pseudopodia, which could be fun in certain circumstances.
So... like a human sized amoeba or a requires-a-microscope-to-see-it pseudopodia?
