CRAP Club PCARS 2 Time Trials - Thanks for taking part everyone, we will return one day!

Edit - that's me done I think, off to the Silverstone Classic tomorrow and I suspect I'll be too cream crackered to have another bash when I get home. Can't say I'll be too sorry to see the back of Ruapuna, doesn't work for me with this car..

Have fun at Silverstone, and I totally hear you on the Ruapuna and Sauber combo, which is why I'm going to stick with my 1:14.xxx and enjoy a frustration free Sunday morning, and then it's off to the pub for the Formula 1.

The new PCARS 2 TT is:

The Nissan Fairlady 240ZG GTS-ii At Bathurst!!

To be done in “Time Trial” mode using stock setup (if you have a saved setup for this combo, please return it to “default” before trying, as times with the “setup used” symbol will show in the in game timing screen, and won’t be counted!) You can use "loose" or "stable" setup, and driver aids if you wish! Post an in game screenshot of your time and post it here for it to count, Good luck!! ;)

This TT will end Next Thursday night, the 2nd of August. This is a very fun combo indeed!

Man I love Bathurst, such a lovely rhythm when you get it right, so unforgiving when you don't - and this car is a little vintage gem too. Lovely combination 👍

My opening stab at it is a 2:27.923, and I'm :D from ear to ear just from the joy of driving!

And some video....

It's greg "wall skimmer" c!! :D Great lap mate!!

Does the PC version of this car have different gear ratios than the PS4 version?

Your shift dash light doesn't come on in the same place as mine. At the hump in the section after the first corner, for example. This is also shown in a following video.

Just curious about any possible differences or if I am missing something.

Not quite sure who you are referring to but I shift at higher revs than gregc and its why there is no shift light in his video.
Gregc shifts gears at around 7000 rpm I shift at around 8000rpm which brings the shift light up on my video.

If your shift light comes on later at the hump than mine check to see if there is any speed difference.

Yeah, I'm using auto gears so I get what the game gives me (that's me hitting the limit of what my brain/hands can manage with a pad )

I know it's hurting my time here especially, and I am manually going down an extra gear in a couple of places, but I get what I get going up the gears...

I was misremembering my shifts without directly looking at my own lap. I was thinking that there weren't any higher gears available at the hump. I was actually holding my shift until crossing over the hump.

However, I have some issues regarding my wheel. One is that PC2 does not keep my settings, so each time I run the sim, I have to calibrate the pedals. I have no way of telling if it knows the wheel turning calibration because it seems to act OK either with or without calibration.

The brakes, on the other hand, lock up way too easily even with calibration. It doesn't take much pressure to make the car understeer at all, so I am losing lots of time at any braking zone.

Does anyone else have these issues?

I had a couple of scrappy, iffy laps today, i hope to give it a proper go tomorrow....I'll upload all times that have been set so far too.

Yes, the rears lock up very easily with the loose Set up, I only apply full brake for a split second in the two last two corners just before the tyres lock up.

Hmm much practice required as I am no where near these times...although am still trying to set controller up to my liking, which is an arse on this game!

Best practice you can do is just join in. It really doesn't matter if you're the fastest or the slowest as I don't think anybody really cares - well I don't ;). This is more about having bit of fun, a bit of banter, and a bit of driving. At least that's how I see it having gatecrashed this group about 3 months ago.

Oh and to the rest of you guys I will try to put a lap time in on this one - I meant to do it last night but it's another of my nemesis circuits, and I got sucked into the new tire model on GTS. Shame on me, but it does seem quite good - almost PCars 2 like.

Yep, what the man said - the more the merrier! It's a bit of fun with a little competitive element - for me it's fun just seeing what combo Hammy will come up with. Sometimes they suit me (I love the one we're running now), sometimes they don't (the Sauber at Ruapuna... :nervous:) but we keep coming back for more

Sure @General_Edead welcome and it's only a bit of fun!! Have a go and post your time here.....If i'm not on your PSN then add me, HammyMansell1980! ;)

Here's some more times so far:
