CRAP Club PCARS 2 Time Trials - Thanks for taking part everyone, we will return one day!

Posted a good time after only a few laps, then started making too many mistakes trying to push too hard...

Another run at it, made some time but still a couple of tenths off Neko - now on a 1:33.025. Stable setup was better for me on this one, which is unusual - normally I get on better with the Loose option but not this time.

Hi all, was wondering if I could get in on the time trials with you guys? I haven’t been playing my sim racers for a while due to my schedule, and still don’t have time to commit to a league. Figured this would be a great way to stay involved with some competition, without having time constraints.

Well done to you all that had a go, and well done yet again Neko, another win for you, but very close overall. That's the final TT for the moment, I will be back at some point to run some more, and hopefully soon....As mentioned before, if anyone else would like to run a TT in my absence, then go for it, I'm regularly on GTP also, for if any help is needed!

Thanks to you all for taking part in the TTs, we'll all be back on them again before you know it, cheers CRAPpers! ;)

Wow mate that's great!!! I should've done the same really lol!! Really interesting to see how the results have gone over the past 2 years.....We will soon be running them again, I hope we get a few more people on board to take part too, but it gets harder as the game gets older.

I hope to be running a TT or two from May time onwards. ;)

I've been thinking, with all the chaos that's going on at the moment, and with maybe a bit more time on our hands locked up at home like a bunch of Hamsters, let's have a bit of fun to take our minds off things, and get our teeth into a TT or 5! ;)

So, the new CRAP PCARS 2 TT is...


2016 Bentley Continental GT3 Endurance (GT3) At Watkins Glen GP Circuit!!​

Conditions:

To be done in “Time Trial” mode using stock setup on "loose", "Stable" or "OEM" (If available). (if you have a saved setup for this combo, please return it to “default” before trying, as times with the “setup used” symbol will show in the in game timing screen, and won’t be counted!) You can use driver aids if you wish! Post an in game screen shot of your time and post it here for it to count, Good luck!! ;)

This TT will run until next Sunday night, the 5th of April, good luck!

1:43.619 - Stable setup

Tried Loose first but Stable is much better, the car feels more planted in the corners, which saved me ~1.5s in total.

Very fun track, very smooth car, great fun combo. :cheers:

Btw the 9th of April is a Thursday :odd: I guess you meant 5th?

I failed to notice I had assists on in my first session...so when I turned them off in this one, I shaved almost half a second off. :odd:

1:43.140 - Stable, no assists

Getting the hang of this place now! Still a bit off the top time, but grabbed the pad record and just over half a second to find to get to Neko's time...

1:43.720 for now, going to take another run at this one tomorrow - time to be found!

Gave the Bentley another spin, this time on "stable" and no assists......Much more grip though the corners, and.....

Close but no cigar for me on this one - went for another run, hit a new best on my third lap, then spent the next hour trying too hard to beat it! I've got a 42.9 there somewhere, but I'll have to settle for a 1:43.317

I've got to ask one related question; My T150 makes a strange grinding noise when it's booting up, only while turning right...but it's fine when I'm racing. I'm a bit worried, it's been doing it the last 3 times. Any idea what it might be, or why? :nervous:

Yes, I have had that noise when the wheel calibrates, when I start up the PS4, and a little bit when playing too..... But It only does it on mine in the cold weather though, which makes me think it's the grease inside the mechanism, and bearings, that goes a bit thick with the cooler ambient temperature. These months here in my summer time - 3 months of 30 plus degrees every day - it hasn't made the noise once.

You could maybe take the wheel apart if it's that bad, and lubricate the mechanism, but I'm sure it's ok. On thing I did a while ago was turn down the wheel's default FFB via my laptop. I think it's on 75% out of the box, I turned mine down to about 50%, and there's still lots of FFB on the wheel. It's a good idea to do it, to preserve the motor inside.

I've also heard of T150s that get hot when playing, but mine has always run cool, again it could be to do with people having high FFB, which stresses the motor.

I hope that helps, and reassures you mate! ;)

Ahh, well I have kept the FFB set to 75% from the start, but decided to crank it to 100% recently to see if it felt better, and it had, so I kept it there. It does get a bit warmer now but I wouldn't call it hot.

...and yes the grease thing is probably true, I've had the heater off at night so the room is actually colder than in the winter. Makes sense.

Speaking about wheel, G29 is going hot too and I'm not sure I have really good settings - it's custom ones, bcs ones that was suggested are simply destroying my deck with vibrations...

And incredibly, Hamster again founds winning time in "last seconds" :)

You're doing well mate, it's all about the taking part in the TTs anyway! ;)

And yes, I was trying to upload my video of the lap most of yesterday, I wanted to put up my time a bit earlier, but couldn't. :( Youtube is struggling too at the minute it appears.

If you all want to, we could start the next TT a bit soon than next Monday.......Look out for an announcement! ;)
