Mods don't care about edits to the OP. Over three seasons and several months of the Capp Cup, the race director has made dozens of edits, for standings, race results, videos, details etc and changes to the title of the thread like "Capp Cup v3.0 Important Race Schedule Change-see OP".
Everyone knows that's where you go to get the latest information, and the body of the thread is for banter and chit chat. Anything important is updated in the OP so everyone knows where it is without having to sort through dozens of posts to find something, that may not be there in the first place.
And it doesn't have to be in a massive OP. You can use the OP to introduce everyone to the concept of CRAP, and then at or near the top of the OP just put something along the lines of: For the next scheduled CRAP race date, please look HERE, that being the link to the second post, which would be reserved for the next scheduled race details. Simple, easy to follow and once people get into the habit, everyone knows what to do and find what they want quickly.
With potentially 100 or so members of crap, all posting on this thread, stuff is going to get lost very quickly. Email wouldn't be my first choice for communication, but it can work. But to me, keeping everything you need within the body of the thread seems so much easier and simpler.
