CRAP GT6 - GT500 Sat 7 Nov 9pm EST (GMT-5)Open

Some hatchback can't have any aero kit at all :(

No problem. You can still use those cars if you really want to.

Hey Mark,

Changes acknowledged. :P

I'm not intended to be grumpy but, could we not "changing the rules during the game"? :odd:

From the announcement of a competition, me (driver) and my friend, @Ridox2JZGTE (tuner and possibly driver) are starting to prepare cars and our self for that.

With the amount of cars in the game I find it makes things simpler that if a car is found to be a rabbit we'll add ballast for the next race. I don't want to get too serious and we'll apply it fairly.

Just to clarify. Here are some examples of cars that can be used. However there are obviously many more - especially road cars.

Not station wagons/estates like the Audi RS6 (probably too powerful anyway), They might have a hatch at the back but we're talking superminis / boy racer type cars.

The Spoon Honda needs maximum ballast and weight so ignore the data shown in it's weight. Obviously ignore the FGT at the bottom ;)

Hi - just a quick confirmation of next week's event. Same regs as last Saturday. See more below.

Hot Hatch Races - Sat 7 Feb 1pm GMT
First race - Autumn Ring

Club Event Description
HOT HATCHES-RACING&ROAD ONLY. RH tyres 437pp 205bhp 872kg. No aids. Rabbit cars + ballast. Main club lobby. Fit Race Brakes & Exhaust, Wing

The track shown on here will be the first track run in the main lobby followed by tracks chosen by racers in the room.

As we have done recently racing will take place in the main club lobby. This event will remain as an ongoing one (although not every week). This is so I don't need to keep setting up a new event each time. Dates will be updated in the event and club title.

Looking forward to this again today. Just hope we don't have the same problem as last week where we couldn't see some of the other cars on track. :irked:

We may be joined today by a chap I work with. He's never raced online before, so is very nrevous, but I've assured him he will be very welcome. :)

Excellent, he has nothing to fear. I will be delayed up to half an hour (no change there I hear you all mutter). If someone wants to get going earlier feel free. See you in a bit.

We have next weeks event set GT3 cars. Bit longer races with maybe a pitstop or two.

I was trying one out last night and Nosoks joined me, running around Monza, Bathurst and Spa.

A few other guys joined us so we jumped back into the Hot hatches and did some ad-hoc races. Two of the guys were 1st time on-liners and, I think, enjoyed themselves. Hopefully they will join the group. I would like to thank Socks for his help in explaining the intricacies of the game and for showing the Crap spirit and ethos.

Let me know what you want in the regs for the GT3 races next Saturday.

@micantony have you any recommendations for the cars the game allows in the online GT3 category. Ideally a blanket setting for all cars of PP, BHP and weight to keep things as fair to all cars. Obviously that means setting things so there is space for the lighter cars and the more powerful ones.

eg as an example how would something like this work? Figures plucked out of the air

Max PP:590
Max BHP:500
Min Kg:1200

Here are a few of the race results I remembered to save from yesterday.

That's pretty peculiar @johnschoonsbeard. I know I was driving the EXA for the Fuji race, yet the images and results you got have me in the Mini I was in for the previous race. ??

Gt6 glitch. We see it all the time after our turtle races. I think if you reset the track or something it might fix it. I dont recall exactly.

I wish i had some across the board settings for gt3 cars JSB. We usually adjust each different car individually to ensure equality, but it takes a lot of testing to do that.

I think if you lower the hp on them a little and get the weight uniform it should be fairly close. Then figure out what pp'ish that is it might work. Problem is that each of those cars are different, so they are hard to perfectly balance. I think the minimum some can go to is 1350kg isnt it? So 1320 might have to be your base. And 500hp sounds about right. Probably still wont balance them all though. Lol.

Here are the regs for the series we are currently in:
Might give you a good starting point to see where they are equal.

There are a lot of gt3 series around gtplanet, surely if you check those threads, maybe you can find one that has already put in all the work to find a good balance with fixed reg's across the board. Wish i could be more useful.

Thank you Mic. I had a quick look without luck. I'm unlikely to make it for the racing but will try a quick test this week.

I looked too and realized there are not many series running gt3 cars anymore.
I guess that just goes to show you what a **** job they did equalizing those cars in gt6. Its a shame really.

Having just driven them all on Red Bull Ring I concur. A fixed set of rules won't help but neither will stock. For a few medium length races it's a faff for Pete (or anyone) to check all the specs car by car. How about you just make it the MERCEDES GT3 ONLY @RoadstercplPete . Keeps it simple and people can still decorate the car.

Pp 618
bhp 598
weight 1350

Any tyres.
TUNING allowed.

Can l suggest the 1st race is Bathurst (Mount Panorama) ? People can use the seasonal for practice and then see how the times vary in a race. Other tracks to be chosen\used during the event. For reference l'm doing 2:08 to 2:10 lap times.

Also l have just completed a 10 lap session on Bathurst and didn't need to pit. Fuel was OK and tyres were 8 front and 9 rear at the end. Maybe go for Very Fast on tyre\fuel?

Of course do what you like Pete. If it helps Nosoks and I did some runs yesterday at Red Bull Ring on RS tyres with wear on Fast. I reckon the tyres were getting to around 6 after laps 10-12 @ approx 1:29 per lap. Try very fast wear and see how it goes. Other tyres not really tested. Have fun. Wish I could join you. I should be on plenty next week during the evening. See what people who turn up fancy running next week. Could do the hot hatches or something else.

Candytreehouse and Bibble (also helped with testing) said they hope to make it.

Cheers Mark.

Just done a couple of 10 lappers at RB Ring. About a second off of your and Soks time.
No surprise there then. Lol.

No pit stop required on Fast wear but on Very Fast, tyres were down to 5 on the front by the end of lap 7 and fuel was required by lap 8. Given that having a pitstop does mix it up a bit and for some may be the 1st time they've done it, i propose to run with Very Fast on. If, by popular demand during the event, wear is reduced then that would be done.

CTH and Bibble: I hope you can make it.

As for next weeks event, Lissa and I propose pre 80 Muscle cars again.

If you do run a race at Red Bull Ring I think I'd put it down for 15 laps. 3rd gear through the first corner is a lot more stable.

My diff was
10
16
5
Or something similar with a lowered tranny.

Right if anybody is interested I put 2 tunes available on GTPlanet into the SLS.

The 1st was Ridox replica 618 tune. used my own gearing and cut back on the front brake but managed a time of 2:06.9 on the seasonal. bit lively and loose for the first couple of laps.

2nd was a Priano tune for 610 pp. upped the pp to 618 and used my own gearing but apart from that followed the tune. Immediately nearly as fast as the Ridox one but more stable. By lap 6 I had managed a 2;05.0.

Both tunes can be found in the GT6 section under 'Tuning'

HTH..
