CRAP GT6 - GT500 Sat 7 Nov 9pm EST (GMT-5)Open

How good are people generally? I've actually never actually raced a real race online in GT. I've messed around with some friends, but that's about it. No serious racing or anything like that. I have no idea how far behind the pack I would end up :P.

I am kind of interested though, at least for the events with somewhat slower cars. I think that would be easier for me :P.

Pseudopod, if there is one lesson I've learned it's this...there will always be people faster than you, and there will always be people slower than you. I have improved so much just from being a member of CRAP, and I have found a bunch of people I am happy to call friends.

I prefer the lower PP cars myself, but that's because my brain just doesn't work quickly enough for the really fast cars.

Why not pop along and see how you get on? I can promise you you'll meet a great bunch of people, who are always happy to help, offer advice, and never judge. And banter! Lots and lots of banter! :)

1st-SRF= Skid Recovery Force. An artificial aid that corrects over exuberance. Lol

Possible Car: How long is a piece of string? Lol. My choice would probably be Ford Mustang Mach 1 '71 0r Shelby GT350 '65. Both 50k credits and 453PP. Stick on LOUD exhaust, fully adjustable transmission, and adjustable suspension. Get it up to 475pp and buy SM tyres. Look in the tuning forum for a tune. Praiano does a 500pp one for the GT350 I believe and he uses a G27 too.

Firstly thanks for this evening I only went on for 10mins that ended up about 2hours  the info was fantastic and very much appreciated  although my tea was a bit burnt  and the wife had to take the daughter home.

I have just downloaded Praiano GT6 Car Tunes as I now realise that the tunes are not a gimmick :embarrassed: although it appears the Shelby GT350 is not on his list :(

I think I'm going to give this a shot, but on wednesday I am at work at 7 pm so it'll have to be some other time.

If you get back later join us when you can. Racing will start at 7 (ish - I've got to get my daughter to bed first). I aim to be on for 5-6 hours and you can join the room anytime. If not then there is the racing on Saturday too.

Note, the first race on Wednesday won't be Spa. It's not so great in these lowish pp cars. Maybe if we get a full room it might work later.

It probably was only 10 minutes, Bryan. 10 minutes with Pete can seem like 2 hours. Believe me, I speak from experience!:lol::lol:

Oi !!!!!! 🤬

Even though I am crying inside I must put on a brave face and offer to open the lounge at 19.00 tonight if JSB is hesitant about being on time. Your call Mark. Shame about Spa.

I hope you can drive through the tears. It will be like Project Cars helmet view in the rain.

Thanks Pete. What I'll try is to open the room early and put it on auto race start until I get there. We can always do Spa once the room has filled up.

I haven't had a chance to test BHP limits within the 430pp limit already confirmed. If we need to limit the more powerful but heavier cars then we can adjust as necessary.

Thanks to everyone for making it an enjoyable evening I hope I drove cleanly and did not disgrace myself to much.

Can't wait until Saturday :)

You did really well Bry.

Thanks to all again for last night's great clean racing session. I only made it until 11:45 before bed called. I think we confirmed a couple of rabbit cars later on. The Elise and normal S2000 were a bit faster (as were a couple of aliens who joined later, along with a deaf, blind driver who wasn't). In future we will try setting a minimum weight (somewhere between 800-900kg) and maximum power (220bhp). However this may not work so they may end up being banned. Both cars clearly have a calculated PP lower than it should be. Here are the first 6 race results.

Enjoy the Pre 79 American racing on Saturday.

If anyone is around for a repeat of last night I'm going to be running these again this evening in about an hour.

Revised regs

Roadsters - 2 seater convertibles

Max pp: 440pp
Max power: 210bhp
Weight: 839kg

Tyres: SH

Been fettling the GT350 in readiness for tomorrows run out and will be on again this evening 1700hrs ish.

last nights run so me achieve a shade under 5 and 5.1 plus a top speed of 155.

Sorry I got on a bit later than planned. Thanks to Esiotrot, GT, Bibble and ICH for helping with the Roadster testing. The reg changes got things a little closer. The minimum weight might need upping. My desire to get 60's roadsters competitive (they're still not) is allowing the Elise too much of an advantage. We could always do a classic roadster only session another time for 50's 60's.

Sorry for the delay. Had a fab time especially as the rain held off so that, in true hardcore fashion, we could keep the roofs down. Lol.

Glad that Bry enjoyed himself and held his own.

Looking forward to getting some thumping V8s out at the weekend now.

Thanks Mark.

A 30 min race has been suggested so that pit stops will be required. I'm happy to run with that. 👍 The problem is, of course, when a CRAP member turns up during it. As Tris is joining us in the small wee hours we had probably be best to do one early into the session. No pre-testing has been done so it will be a bit hit and miss. Sort of like my driving really! Although that's more hit than miss

Oh, and my Thrustmaster has turned up this morning, courtesy of my better half(pint)

Well that was a fun filled 6 hours of racing. We ended up doing several 30 minute races with tyre and fuel on Very High. Threw a spanner into a few peoples works. Lol. I limited the room to 12 to try and stabilise the lobby and as we didn't have any disco or hardly any lag it may have worked. There were around 8 CRAP members in at one time and with Dee and Ejiff it probably would have made sense to open a Club Only lobby. But we didn't suffer with any non member foolishness and may have gained one or two new members so it is difficult to know what's best. Dee and Ejiff did eventually get in, thankfully. My thanks goes to everybody who participated today and didn't give me any CRAP.....Lol.

Next Saturday we need to confirm who is hosting and start time but asume it will be the same unless advised otherwise.

Here are the basic regs for this week. Thanks to sleepy Tris for the following.

500pp European Road Cars.
Tyres I'm guessing will be SM or SH. To be confirmed.

The room car filter will just be for 500pp as we cannot filter by continent so room members will need to remind others of the title of the room. It's not always noticed!

Racing will take place in the main club lobby.

First track I've pencilled in is a 10 lapper at Suzuka day/night cycle. Time progression will be on maximum (60) so we should see a full day night transition. Weather dry to start. Chance of rain will be at the halfway point.

SRF (Skid Recovery Force) off

Room normally stays open for 3 or more hours. Join when you can.

If room fills up another one can be opened or we can make it members only. More than one lobby can be opened from the main club section.

Here are details of the midweek racing/testing we're planning this Wednesday evening. May start off with Bry testing a variety of cars either tuned or stock. I hope to be on later.
Oqp842p67aVoSg4psa_0.jpg

440pp Roadsters 210bhp 850kg

Regulations

Roadsters (2 seater convertibles)

Tyres: SH

Full tuning allowed

Driving aids: All except SRF (Skid Recovery Force) can be used. Some of us don't use extra driving aids in the game, however you can use whichever ones you like.

Club Event Description

440pp Roadsters (2 seat convertibles) this Wed 25 Feb 7pm. This will be setup in a private room in the CRAP main lobby section so you'll need to be a member of the CRAP Racing group in GT6. TYRES SH.
Many of these cars will be fairly light and powerful. That combination can make them quite twitchy around corners (especially those funny MR2 thingies). They might need a tune and some careful throttle and brake control.

These cars and regs have been tested a bit and it is a work in progress. Possible adjustments may involve a raising of the 850kg limit to 900kg and or a slight increasing of the possible bhp. All feedback welcome.

The aim is to allows us to develop another set of fairly even regs we can have on regular rotation. There may need to be a further tweak to regs.

Had a bit of fun last night with Bry, Dee and Lissa and then later with JSB.

We took Bry around the Ring which he'd not done before. Good timing as one of the seasonals this week is on the Green Hell.

Hope you got your missus and car back last night Bry?

I've added the tyres for the 500pp event. I set it to SM. I haven't tested though so if people would rather have sports hard tyres let me know. The default for these cars tends to be SH. Any thoughts.

The GT6 1.16 update deleted all of the regulations for every CRAP event and deleted all of my pre saved room presets. I had to set up the regs for all events on the club again. People may need to sign up for some of the events again. Any issues let us know.
