Missed last night too. Had a horrid time the night before though. Been busy lately and its wrecking my race time. Noticed you have not been on much Spliffy. Hope to catch you soon buddy. Really fancied last night as well. Hope to get on tonight though. @admoo, great job setting these races up. Yer no a bad spud.;) @john&admo, A thought for mic and language during races........... When i played GT online the way the host done it was there was a chat room to set up before the race but once set up the mics were turned off for the race. Not dictating what to do but it worked back in the old days. :)I remember back when I played championship sprint and had to leave the house and go to the arcade to play cpu games. We never had it so good.
I haven't been on much you're right but I intend to make up for that soon so I hope to see you online for some practice sessions.

I'm thinking of setting up a 2/3 hour endurance race if anyone is interested, more than likely at Silverstone or another wide track that's on the WEC/ELMS calendar.

Would be LMP1, LMP2 and GT to choose from (pick what you like, I'm not too fussed as long as we have 4 of each class) so if there are low numbers it might be limited to just P1/P2 and GT for example.

Let me know if you're up for it.

Too long a race for me. I'm pushing it concentrating for an hour long race never mind two or three

I was thinking a Saturday afternoon around 3 or 4pm.

Alright, won't be able to do this weekend (got the kid) but next I'll be good to go.

Need to work out a few bits on tracks so we can make sure it's fairly forgiving.

I also really like the idea of a endurance race xkubunt. Saturday or Sunday.

It would be Saturday the 1st if that works. If it's a success is suggest running one every 2/3 weeks as a series (non championship though) but I'd probably lay on a prize or two for the best performer, most improved etc. Not sure what yet though, might just be bragging rights ;)

Trying to think of tracks that aren't too punishing if you have a pit stop mess up or a reasonably big accident. Driving a whole lap of Le Mans is a bit of a pain when you've lost a wheel for example.

I'm thinking one of the following:

- Silverstone
- Nurb GP
- Catalunya
- Sakitto

Also @Spooky Wooky you up for it?

I can hardly ever guarantee my own participation in an endurance race due to family demands but it would be great to have a regular endurance race plan. @xkubunt will and @Mr_D have previously run them in Project Cars. If anyone else has ideas for races they'd like to run, let everyone else know. We'll try and get through all the ideas eventually. If you don't fancy hosting a race yourself then put the idea out there and we'll run them whether they are sprint, enduro, mini series or 250 lap marathons.

@xkubunt let me know when you've got more plans for the next enduro.

Bragging rights is enough normally. However on our own forum we do have a system in place to assign virtual gold, silver and bronze medals to members profiles for endurance race performance.

GTPlanet member names

you have my name on it; Bjorn Lucas, but i do not know if you can find that name on psn, on psn my name is: allstyles

bjorn lucas is my real name... :gtpflag:

No problem @Bjorn Lucas is in the post of GTP member names that the alert probably took you to. However the second post in the thread correctly has the psn ID allstyles. Good racing with you the other day.

Yes I am lol. I'd like to throw Hockenheim GP into the ring :). But whatever track is chosen, I'm in anyway.

Completely forgot it was in the game, love the track.

@ErnstJ as it's 2 or 3 hours it'll require pitting anyway so it doesn't matter too much. Trying to make sure it's a relatively short track so if the game decides to give you crap tyres you at least stand a chance at finishing.

@Kkj10 I'm thinking of doing it around 2/3pm so should be over by the time SNL starts!

The thing i meant was that if you dont have a very good setup, your tires are in the red within 5 laps on that track :P.

I too would enjoy regular-ish endurance races. As John said, it doesn't have to be prototypes/GT cars every time, I'm up for pretty much anything

My thoughts as well, I'd like to do prototypes first as they're fairly tame when driving for a long time. I find some of the other classes I end up losing concentration.

I would like to do some long formula c races though.

Hockenheim, P1's and GT3.

Let's get a sign up list going in the other thread. All cars from each class are good to go.

Average lap times are around 1:20 to 1:30 in the P1's so it'll be around 110 laps - fastest P1's will be hitting around 2 hours 50 without stops so including fuel and tyre stops we'll easily hit three hours. If that's too long we can take it down to around 90 laps which should be 2:15 or so.

When you're working out race time
you also need to consider how much time the overall event might be including qualifying and any other sessions you want.

We (CRAP) used to have a main endurance race in GT5 once a month. It gave us a while to prepare a tune for the track and do a little practice while still leaving plenty of space for the more relaxed nature of some of the group's other races.

Sharing responsibilities for organising, promoting and hosting the enduros help me a great deal and help foster an attitude of I can host/organise something in the group. If more people are playing more regularly then there's more chance of more of us being on at the odd times some of us get the time to play. Thanks all of you.
