I'm not able to make it but have updated this thread with the date of our next official race. I'll be on before that for more ad hoc races and maybe even some practice for Sunday. I'm just about to set up a private room. You should be able to click on me and join from there. If not I'll send you an invite.

Im really loving this game so far. I recently had a shoulder operation so Im at home like, a lot.. And project CARS is proving to be a awesome distraction. And GTPlanet as well best forums Ive been on in a while.

Had a good couple of races with Weal who used to take part in weekly CRAP sessions a few years ago. We did a couple of GT3 races around Silverstone with AI at 80% 3rd and 4th.

Although I've got a wheel I've been trying DS4 settings and got something that works really well. I'll post the settings shortly.

Had a good couple of races with Weal who used to take part in weekly CRAP sessions a few years ago. We did a couple of GT3 races around Silverstone with AI at 80% 3rd and 4th.

Just race when you are around. we're not scoring points most of the time and if we are it's over a mini series all in one session. CRAP is just an opportunity to race against each other most of the time in unscheduled races. Some scheduled stuff (see Sunday) but adding all of the people in the group means there's a good chance of finding other clean racers to race against online.

Pick base track and car (stock setup or same tune/assist for all) and ask members to set best lap. It might be helpful for current members and possible interest members to get a sense of members' skills. Racers of similar skill can easily find each other for competitive races. It can be done offline. Honor code to post best lap. You're only hurting yourself if posting false lap time. Example...

Have you tried turning steering dampening off? To me that made a big difference (in a good way).

I think it could be fun to post some laptimes, but I dont think its really necessary to create a list to see whom is fastest. When you race eachother you find out soon enough how fast someone is

I tried it off in one car and turned it on again. Can't remember why. Back to wheel for today but I'll try it again next time

Works sensibly, though can we set these fortnightly instead of weekly?

My suggestion was only intended to provide a reference for current members and potential members. I will have more fun racing members closer to my skill level. If the group wants to add TT events to serve this purpose and provide some fun too, that's fine.

This first one will be a keeper which we use to put on post 2 as per your idea.

Time trials are something we've done now and again in CRAP regardless and they work quite well where there is a group of us who can't always race together. Your post served as a nice reminder. The time trial option in pCARS is great as it gives constant track conditions and no tuning. All we need now is customisable time trials for clubs and hardly any effort is required.

Edit: it appears as though tunes made in other parts of the game will be used if made for the same location.

Did you record it? I forgot.

It was the best race I've had so far (GT3 @ Road America). Neck and neck for so long along with the AI.

Some of us do. If we're doing something serious like an enduro then chatter is kept to a minimum avoiding incidents etc.

Hi all

There is a new time trial event with details how to run it in game. I've set it up to allow all GTPlanet users whatever the operating system to enter. However, it has been suggested that we use it as an indicator to potential new members so they can gauge the spread of speed (or enjoyment of hot lapping) within the group. Of course it's not an indication of how well we all race but it might give potential members an indication of how competitive they might be within the group. CRAP always welcomes all levels of ability.

If you get the chance to give it a go it's a fun ride....

Hey guys, popping my head in so's to become an official member. I didn't realise you had a club on the go @JohnScoonsBeard. Cheers for the invite the other night, was my first time driving both the car and the track so took me the full race to get up to speed. Was on pace by the end though so look forward to a rematch

As for the wheel i think it was a software glitch as opposed to a hardware malfunction, I've had it happen twice now @gtracer2013 and both time I've resolved it by reseting the wheel.

What happens is, I hit an invisible object on track and come to a sudden stop. I lose all steering and force feedback, its possible I guess that it was a mechanical fault but it wasn't indicated. Very strange

Phew it's not just me then. The exact same thing has happened to me twice so far. I'm using a T300rs wheel on a PS4. You seem to hit an invisible object which stops you dead. While the car is stationery the ffb seems OK but as soon as you move the ffb is completely gone.

I've been lucky and haven't had it yet. What anyone getting the issue should do is tell SMS on their official Project Cars forum detailing the car and track and maybe where on track if possible.
