Hey guys,

It's looking like we will be running this on a Friday. We are going to go for a 10pm GMT start, how do people feel about that?

Also Friday 18th March we are going to run a test race at Zolder. It will be the exact format as the series, starting at 10pm. It would be great to get as many people in so you can see what the cars are like, get a feel for the series and test the connection!

Let me know who is in?

@ty2
@HammyMansell
@Football67611
@JohnScoonsBeard
@Paulo Lima
@RHINO2K
@alegunner68
@revhead_1000

Hey guys

Anyone else on this evening that wants to join in with the test? It will last around 1 hour!

I finish work at 9:30, then 30ish minute cycle home. I'll be there, but might be 5-10mins late. I have to leave again straight after the test as I'm back at work 6am Saturday. boo
That's cool man, I'll send an invite and join when you can. Let me know if you need another one! Hopefully you'll be in the tail end of qualifying

Enjoyed the races last night, default setup not so much, especially ffb. Don't think anyone dc'd so that's a good sign.

Excellent news. My wife went to bed at 8:30! Unfortunately I feel asleep on the sofa at 9. This is getting embarrassing. So much for my night owl status. To be fair the kids have both been hard work this week and everyone has a cold.

Good to hear the connections were stable.

love how things worked out yesterday!!
We need a vid from that formula c start,.. one of the most breathtaking accidents for me in this game.
a car got flipped by some other cars and flew over me, while i was thinking that i would crash into it :crazy::dunce:

@alegunner68 you know that there is global ffb setting in the option menu?!

@alegunner68 as styles said above, u can customise ur ffb setting in the main garage on the game ( not the garage we are parked in while in a lobby) if u change them there they stay changed when u enter the race,

That being said. It would be good to have everyones views on defualt set ups or not.

Yesterdays race was a test to see what we thing.

I personally like the default setups
In normal races some people who dont tune often get left behind, some tunes can be 1-1.5 seconds a lap quicker then people get disheartened.

I like the fact that on default, it comes down to just the driver ( and a bit of luck)

Again a con tho, as i found out last night, u cant change your pit strategy for damage, and i endded up on wets lol

Lastly. For one of the quallys id like just a 5 min qually. That gives u a warm up lap and one fast lap, - do u go all out for poll and risk not setting a lap, or play safe and get an ok position...
Again.. thoughts please people.

Soo guys. What you thinking?

Yeah default setups were good but only caused a problem with the pits. I don't know how we would get around that because I wouldn't mind leaving default on but we don't want people races ruined by having to pit and he wrong tyres put on. Also we normally do a mandatory pit stop in the feature race so we may have to rethink that too.

I think if one of the qualifying sessions is going to be 5 minutes it needs to be the formula c. It's a shorter race and you can heat the tyres quicker than the indycar. Personally I'm not a huge fan but I like it a lot more on the formula c than the indycar.

So my vote is default setups (people can get the Feb sorted before hand) and 5 minute qualifying for the formula c. Everything else is perfect!

i agree on default set ups, but the qually thing i like but i just think there may be sume people who could possibly get disheartend by not gettin a fast lap in some take time to get use to the car maybe have a 5 - 10 practice before qually

Last night was perfect: no disconnections or lags.

I also prefer default setups. Don't quite understand the problems u guys are referring with the pit stops...

So for me is default @ Friday's 10pm gmt.

Let's go :)!
When Acekiller had to pit due to damage it changed his tyres to wet tyres. Bit of a weird bug!

Glad you enjoyed it though!

Thats a good idea

5 min practice the 5 min qually in the fc.
10 min qually for indycar..

@Danrc2010
I agree, fc would be the one to do it on.

And the pits. Maybe it might be like the ffb. Can change in the main garage to make sure your set on the right tyres if you do need to pjt for damage.

If that worked we could still have the mandatory pit stop, it would change everyones tyres, and the fuel we can have set off so u dont run out lol! ( i think that was a glitch tho cus everyone else had full tanks!)

So think we need to do some testing

I'm going to go on in a minute and set it up and test the pit stops. I think we just turn off fuel if we have default setups on, a lot easier!

Good racing last night. I was not looking forward to racing open-wheelers, specially at Zolder (one of my slowest tracks), but as soon as the racing got underway I was loving in.

Default setups - I prefer default setups, mainly because I'm too lazy to learn how to tune, however I'm happy to race against tuners if that's the case. Obviously defaults will result on closer races. I think there is a workaround for the pit stop bug. IF the game is giving you your "use me" pit strategy, I think this can be changed beforehand by going into a free practice session from the main menu and changing it there. This will need confirming though. a bit of a pain in the arse if that's the case, but it's got to be better than getting wets.

5 min qually - I pushed too hard on my quick lap, messed up and didn't set a time. I liked this idea for the sprint race, it adds a bit of jeopardy and will probably result in mixing the grid up a bit.

10pm Friday race time - I would have rather raced on a weekend, but with all the trouble we have with disconnects on a Saturday and Sunday, I think late night on a Friday is next best thing (for me). Due to work constraints, 10pm is probably the earliest I could manage on a weekday.

overall a good test, looking forward to the series proper.

Yeah me and ace have done quite a bit of testing with the pits today. Basically if in your pit strategy list you have a wet setup at the top it will change everything to that whilst in a default session. We went into a tuning enabled session, deleted the wet setup at the top and put a dry pit setup at the top and set as active. When we went into a default setup session and pitted and came out with the dry tyres.

It's a lot of hassle so we are just going to turn damage off and fuel off. This is because we trust all the drivers in this series. If you cause an accident you have to wait for the other person to rejoin the track. This way we can keep default setups and it will be fair, fun and close racing!
