Indeed. Several expert witness with long ratings on type say that he was at least 100ft short of the ground clearance required to perform the manouevre. As a very experienced pilot he at the very least made a mistake, or so it seems. I guess this judgement shows that somehow enough doubt was introduced to the jury in terms of mechanical deficiencies and G-effects.
I'm sure there'll be an appeal but I can't see this jury's judgement being overturned.
