I have improved my total time so much.:)
Gran Turismo® 7_20230324194653.jpg

I tend to do worse total times the more I grind this track. This way I take less risks, my strategy is to have tyres that remain safe, avoid contact with AI at all cost, overall making this grind as easy as can be. I just managed to float above the pack.

What is 1min in 25? Winning 1min at the risk of losing the CRB ? If the race was shorter, I'd be more willing to take risks.

Idk about Tokyo Expressway, but I'm lately grinding the Sardegna WTC 800. The payout is lower at 727.500, but it is a guaranteed payout because the game for some reason ALWAYS thinks it was a clean race, even if I crash multiple times. It is a much more relaxing experience when you don't have to babysit your car near AI and hope they won't turn into you for no reason.

I do it with a detuned Mazda 787B. With hard tires and fuel map 4 you can do an entire race without pitting at ~1:40 time per lap, for a total of 25 minutes, which leaves other cars far behind.

edit: for the sake of variety, you can also do it without pitting in a detuned Porsche 962C and fuel map 6. Possibly some other older Gr.1 cars that I don't have yet.

All I know is I rammed the heck out of an AI coming out of the pit around lap 8 or so. Absolutely hit the rear of his car where he spun out and so did I. I still got the CRB. Yet I've had races where I barely touch the AI and don't get the CRB.

Just to update on this, it still works but you don't have to detune the car as much because the PP of racing hard tires is lower now, and fuel map should be set to 6. Since it is a speed circuit, now you can finish the race slightly faster. Clean race bonus is still guaranteed even if you crash.

It’s the rims. Some tunes depend on a specific wheel size and offset.
Can you let me know what is the rim size to be able to make below 600pp? Today when I select the car it still showed as under 600pp but when I enter Tokyo 600 it won’t let me in. The pp jumped to 75xpp. Thanks

Are you trying to use the amg black series? cause that glitch is dead with that car.

With the new patch, using a new tune, I’ve got the Escudo down to 23:11 on Tokyo (with CRB). This was nowhere near a perfect run so I’m sure I can get it back under 23 minutes with better driving, a little tweaking, and a little better understanding of how LSD affects performance under the new physics model.

I’ll detail the new tune probably Monday - I’m super busy all weekend unfortunately. The tune is very slightly glitched, but it only nets an extra 20PP versus identical non-glitched setups, so it’s a very minor glitch.

The swapped Cappuccino has dropped some PP after the new update, any ways to make it faster now? Although I'm not sure if it's going to be as fast as before, given the inters will not last as long as they used to pre-1.31 tbh.

Are you wall riding? My SS don't have much grip, I can't imagine SM. I'm currently running IM for 2 laps then RS stopping on laps 6 and 10 for race times in the high 24's.

Just did a quick run on Tokyo after new patch and apparently you can bump into the AI now and still get the CRB?
I accidentally(of course) smacked into the AI's arse so hard that it went sideways and thought, yep there goes my CRB down the drain.
To my surprise😲, I got the CRB post race.🤣

Just had my first run with your set up and imo it's a cracka of a tune @Pizzapants!
My run was a bit sloppy and not the cleanest due to unfamiliarity of this tune + the 50:50 torque distribution, but there's defo room for improvement/s in achieving faster times! I got a 23:11 run and a 1:50 FL.
Unless someone else knows of a better tune, this is the best and fastest tune for the Escudo on Tokyo and the quickest time to grind for credits with max payout in the game atm.
This latest patch seems to have made the AI more forgiving in that you don't lose the CRB when you do bump into them. In my previous post, I stated that I smashed into the AI car so hard it went sideways to almost spinning out, yet my CRB was given.

Aww thanks. This tune is SLIGHTLY glitched so yeah it will be tough to objectively beat it.

I also agree that something has changed with the CRB — it is NOT consistent (which is super annoying) but it does seem to be more forgiving. It’s weird.

Happy grinding.

Do you wall-ride with that tune ? I've just tried it and managed a 1:59 lap, but I can't see how it would be possible to be that fast without wall-riding.

25min40s total time but I wasn't wall-riding on the first laps, which were far slower.
