What length of race are you thinking? Is there a big speed/time difference between the two cars? I should be free and may and interested.

Sorry about late reply, been really busy with work.

I was thinking more towards 1 1/2 hours, I wanted to get tyre wear tested this week but not had chance and with WRS enduro this weekend I will probably get the tyres finalized early next week.

There is a on average a 13 second lap gap between the 2 cars, with the spoon only been tuned to 455pp and no tweeking with it, so it should be about 14 - 15 seconds a lap with a tune.

There is a good speed diffrence between the cars in acceleration and top speed on this track (CRZ Top speed 110mph - Spoon CRZ 145 start finish straight).
With the spoon having a lot better acceleration and a few straights on Nurb GP/D it should make the passes on the standard CRZ easier.

Hope this helps

Not my cup of tea but good idea 👍

What would be better IMHO would be the CRZ TC vs the Prius TC and then have slights tuned versions for the slower class.

Unfortunatley I have not purchased the DLC pack with these cars in yet, but I like your Idea 👍 thanks for the input.

There is a lot of scope in GT5 for multi class racing especially a untuned car and tuned car spec races, I've tested a lot of them and have many more ideas in mind but got to give this one a good a chance first, and its a great start if you have never done multi class racing before.

I like the idea of this. A little confused as to why your allowing TC and driving line but not ABS.

I would be interested in this racing series, but not sure I would like to sign up for this yet. Once the date has been confirmed, I will be able to see if I will be able to attend this or not.

Thanks I forgot to put ABS in :dunce:.

I personally wont use TC or driving line but some people like to use them and I'd like to leave that option there for them.

@MSTER232, I understand with there been 2 dates up there at the moment, I'm just trying to get a general interest, once the date has been confirmed (hopefully tuesday) I will post the full settings in the spot race forum.

At this stage I am free on both dates and the stock cr-z could be fun :D I'm in 👍

Nice, count me in, free on both dates. Afther testing both cars i will put up my choice ;)

Sounds like fun! If work doesn't get in the way, I'm in.👍

Thanks for the interest I'm looking at getting at least 14 drivers for this race hopefully. So if you know anyone who likes this type of racing give them a PM.

Opened a poll on the length of race you would like in these cars. If the votes are equal or under 5 votes by the time it closes (2nd May), I will make the race around 1 1/2 hours.

Just a sugestion though. If you want to do an endurance would it not be better using the 24 or type v circuit or at least the gpf?

With the track been the size it is (around a 2 min) and the cars been low power a larger track could leave you running alone for a good while (imagine running nurb 24 by yourself in the standard CR-Z for most duration if you make a mistake)

With a bit of maths and a staggerd start (spoons first), hopefully the Spoon CRZ should be catching up to start lapping the standard CRZ around about the first pits so hopefully all drivers will have a car around about them most of the race.

The larger Nurb tracks I find are better for the faster endurance races more of challenge thanks for the input

Would definitely be interested in this if there were a few alterations in the settings such as, slipstream set to weak, visible damage on, damage heavy (slower cars so I see why theres no need for light) and run one of the sports treads, probably softs.

Hi, I'll get some more testing done with the slipstream. It gave the standard CR-Z more cleaner overtaking opurtunities and helped the Spoon to overtake them a bit easier, was the reason behind strong

Visible damage will stay off if more than 12 drivers join due to PD servers.

Damage is light, with this been a spot race (no points) I dont think there is any need to penelize a driver with an early pit if they make a mistake.
All drivers are expexted to race under the OLR rules though. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=111241

Definatley going to be on the sports tread though, most testing been done on sports soft. I need to test sports hard to see how many laps I can get out of them yet.

That is a huge time differential between cars! 15 sec! That means every 8 laps or so, you will be lapping the entire stock field if you are in a spoon. Look for something closer to 4-5 sec per lap, which is still huge, for a better multi-class race.

You dont want to be flying up on the cars too quickly or else you may risk contact. With a 2 minute lap, you are looking at being about 12.5% faster, which would probably yield over 10mph faster everywere on the track on average.

Just something to consider.

Had a little test run earlier using sport hard tires.
Spoon CR-Z(RKM Tune) @ 452pp: 1'47.8xx (10 laps)
Honda CR-Z: 1:58.9xx (7 laps)
also battery runs out lap 5 for Honda and lap 7 or 8 for Spoon. Loss of 1-2 seconds per lap.

I wish the cars had the KERS system modified so its like F1 with a boost button not just drain it till it dies.

But the guy who uses the throttle most efficiently during the early laps will have a big advantage.

Out of interest what class does everyone like? Im going with the spoon I think.

Depending of course on when it's run, I could give this a go. Always fun to race the lower powered cars, easier to control and makes for some good racing:tup:👍

Thats what I was looking for with this race, lots of overtaking. Its up to the driver of the spoon to keep the passes clean on the Standard one as the slower class does not need to give up the racing line if been lapped by the faster class. But considering dropping PP by 10 for the Spoon.
Could make it more interesting if you come up against 3 standard CRZ battling for positions.

I would echo Joshua's sentiments for the "weak" draft, which is already strong enough.

Due to a few comments about the slipstream (draft) looking more like weak.

Had a little test run earlier using sport hard tires.

Thanks Jon, thats why it will make it a bit more interesting with the battery power.

This is my first try at organising a race, so all comments and input are well appreciated

I'll keep an eye on this and sounds interesting. Not sure of my schedule on either of the proposed dates yet, but the day/ time is usually good for me.

Jon, is that what happens when you run out of battery/fuel life?

I've never driven one of these hybrids. :dopey:

@ Paul: You're right, this may be a car a noob like me can half-xxx handle. :nervous:

Might be a slight speed diffrence after your 2.4 hours of a lmp and GT in the WRS 2.4 Hour endurance

Your no noob.
The slower cars generally make for nice close racing, they maybe slow but good fun racing in packs.

Yep battery life affects performance a bit and once its gone its gone.

True, but the downside of those LMP/Group C cars at 750+ HP (not tamed down to 550 HP like they do in some of the series hosted at GTP :yuck:) is that it's nearly impossible to pass cars in your own class. The GT cars provide the passing and the intra-LMP battles are more about strategy, controlling pace, etc.

Anyway, this would be a nice change of pace and provide extended side by side battle potential.

Note: I wouldn't consider an hour race an enduro. To me that's just a normal race distance that is required to induce a little pit/tire strategy. I voted for 90 minutes, but I can't commit quite yet so take my vote with a grain of salt.

I understand about the commiment, you know how often I sign up as a reserve.

I would be interested.. I say 1 hour long races are good enough.

👍

I hope to have the date and length sorted by tomorrow night so get your votes in if your interested or still on the fence about it.

I voted one hour, but I don't have a problem with 1 1/2 if that's the clincher.

Physically, I believe I could endure-o one of these cars 90 minutes...maybe, lol.
