And I will still stick with the PS3, not jump ship. Unless Kaz was to move the next GT to the next-gen MS offering over the Sony offering.
IIRC, PD is a subsidiary of Sony so there is no chance that will happen.

Agreed. I would think that PS store and/or PSN will be first with Q either same time or bloody close behind. These are the 3 killing their share prices atm. It'll be back before then. That first link was stupid, a lot like reading a post in this thread. The second link was a little better, but still we all knew it wouldn't be 100% back online right away.
I said it with a lot of tongue-in-cheek.IIRC, PD is a subsidiary of Sony so there is no chance that will happen.
IT looks like the PSN will be down until May 31st.

Hopefully there will be some significant changes made to the store and we will be surprised with what they have accomplished, with working 24/7.
Yes, some of the things I have read sound very promising if in fact they are true. Once PSN returns we should have a much improved service. The added security and features make the wait a little more bearable.
This may be a dumb question, but is it possible that games can be updated without PSN up?
Yes games will still update with PSN down.
I'm just curious as to how that works. NASCAR The Game 2011 had a minor update without even an announcement. Is the data transferred via a patch vs. an update too large to administer without PSN?
Then there is the greedy insurance company refusing to cover a claim because the owner forgot to lock a door. Some areas, people still leave their doors open without thinking twice. I know people who had to put a lot of effort into not leaving keys in the ignition, because their area used to not be infested with thieves.
Then there is the thief who presses charges against the homeowner because the homeowner shot said thief in his (_|_) as he was running away from the house or car!
I was wondering if this might crack on until E3.
Looks like it might just do that. Interesting.
TetradicWhile in this country XBOX generally is the preferred platform (I switched about a year ago) globally the XBOX is barely a blip on the Playstation's radar.
2) Communication
I would have to respectfully disagree with this bit, XBox sales world wide have shown that it is a very popular bit of kit.
Not starting an Xbox vs PS3 debate, there is no place for that amongst real gamers.
Sony should be worried about the impact of all this and the crowds that will jump ship to MS. But the reverse happened in 2008 and it could all happen again in the future.
I am very fortunate to own both consoles and there is very little between them in terms of spec and overall ability. But not everyone is in this position and this kind of thing will influence people's buying decision.
I expect the PSN to be back soon better than ever. They will have overhauled the system with new gimmicks and bells and whistles and hopefully it will be the most secure system it can be.

Every time I look (forums, chat, etc.) there's someone saying they talked to a Sony worker over the phone who told them blah blah date, one date mentioned was today that PSN would be back up. Though the conversations always seem to be erroneous.
I have two issues with Sony about this entire PSN drama.
2) Communication. We live in a age of direct communication from a brand to consumers (via twitter, facebook, blogs, etc etc). To be fair Sony is Japanese company and they are a few years behind the social media curve (as are most Asian business) but still. Their lack of any type of real communication/relationship with their users is shocking. Sure they have a blog and some nicely staged press conferences but it's 2011, not 2001, that doesn't cut it anymore.
May 31.....wow this must be some serious stuff!
Hope it gets back online soon....
