Xmas holidays! I will try and get a matsuri up this weekend, although I know a couple D-Maxer's can't make it. Will sort it tomorrow!
Cheers Eric + Furin!
Me Saggy and Knight were here from VERY early on in GT5's life. An accidental drift in an FT86 G-sports on Trial Mountain reminded me of drifting being a thing to do! (About 3/4 days after GT's release) I headed to GTP (I was following it for the leaked info from Amar) and signed up for a tryout where I met the other 2. In practice I learned the term 'JDM', was shown a couple videos and was hooked!
In short, that team showed signs of inactivity before we were even fully on it, we and 'kotkas' quickly cancelled our sign up (after ~3 days of drifting together and learning to drift) and created ACN! (still not sure how many people will know that name) About towards a year later we joined with 'D-Trick' to make 'D-Max'!
After exploring battles and comps we abruptly adopted the 'keep drifting fun' attitude (before 'kdf' was a thing), we deterred competition, and drifted for what we love, DRIFTING. This sticks very to the matsuri's theming, and why it is so popular!
Crazy to think, if I had never accidently let the rear end loose on that one lap of TM, none of this would have happened and my life would certainly be VERY different. I would have been unlikely to ever build such an interest in cars, especially in terms of JDM culture, stance + drifting! I certainly wouldn't now have a part time job to purely save up for a car! There is also much to be said for Alex, Nate and all others involved with D-Max's origin, and hlw they came to be part of it all! I certainly feel very lucky and privialeged!
