In tanso, drivers drift one at a time, judged individually and awarded points. Generally, each driver is allowed 2 runs, and the higher score from both runs is applied to the final ranking. Drivers are judged based on skill and in addition to observing the line, factors such as angle, speed and style are taken into account. Large point deductions are given when drivers cause the cars to spin or drive through the corners with understeer.


Tanso also acts as the qualifying stage for the tsuiso (tandem run) competition, and only the top ranked drivers in the tanso competition are able to advance to the tsuiso round.

I've added a new rule to the Op: No intentional backwards entrys in tandems by both cars. As we have seen they cause big speed differences and hitting.
The judges will deduct points for hazzardous driving even if there was no hit.

So you admit that you made the rule up on the spot? Hardly fair. If I lose fairly I don't say one wrong word. I spun out in round, and congradulated AE86 for his win as it was fair, but you didn't mention the rule once so how was I to know. As well as that, the law states that that you have to back it up on paper, but you didn't even mention it. And I don't argue after every loss, just the ones that were unclear/

Look, I'll leave it at this but you really gotta make sure everybody is clear on important rules. I do congradulate Jn on his 2nd win, and he probably would've beat me anyway. But you cant bring up a rule after it happens and I've been penalised.

I also have a doubt, do you guys still judge speed & distance even if there is a big speed difference between cars? Like let's say (JUST AN EXAMPLE) an AE86 vs a BMW

Well honestly I would actually prefer them to be allowed, but not my point and you've added the rule. I did say that you didn't mention the rule and that you should've reran my lead run again after you alerted me on it. To me that would've been the right decision. And honestly I got so comfortable with backwards entries that I was doing it every lead run as I ended up with a better line (stopped missing 1st CP). Look, I don't care that I lost, but the fact that the rule wasn't there when it happened so I shouldn't really have been penalised.

reverse entries in single runs wont be banned for sure, they play a big part in the next round. Although its a whole different story in tandems, its not easy for 2 people to pull of a reverse entry without hitting each other or going off the line etc therefore they are banned in tandems, if you do one though you will be pointed down.

But anyway, what track is okayama on? Eifel? I didn't like the flow of the last track, I kept getting scared of understeer when the 3rd corner slowed. But I will find a way to beat jn! Most likely Fuji :-P I love Fuji! I miss my c63..

I watched your qualifying run and my mouth literally dropped to the floor. XD

Round 2's section really wasn't suited to the my BMW at all. I was getting mad understeer in the lobby, which was weird because it didn't happen when I practiced by myself :S.

Hopefully Round 3 will be a much better section and maybe I can actually qualify this time >.<

We don't judge it as long as there is no distance over let's say 10 meters. If there is a big speed difference we consider what cars the drivers are using and decide if the speed advantage is caused by a better driver or a better car
