Asolutely loving race B this week. Monday was intense getting into the groove of things. Learning how fast you can go, how to take the bus stop without lifting, it felt insane. Got to 1.2915 and felt maxed out, but was loving racing against tons of A+ guys doing 27's and having to battle hard to gain a few positions every race. Today i felt more relaxed and confident i guess and maybe after my 5th practice lap I broke 1.29 and then every lap for the next 4 or 5 laps i gained another tenth until i hit 1.285
Felt pretty good about it and have been starting pole alot now and winning quite a few, farming Dr now, gained 10k almost in the last 2 days (34000 -> 44000). Which Im pretty pumped on and am feeling pretty confident I will be able to reach A+ for the first time.
Unfortunately it seems most of the aliens or at least A+ guys stopped racing tonight as I dont think I saw any today whereas yesterday I must have seen 2-4 per race. So who knows..
Im enjoying gaining Dr but cant help but wish there was tougher competition, even though Ive seen most ly all A dr rooms all night, in which if you make even one mistake you basically lose 10 positions. @Qyn It was good to see you out there multiple times tonight.
I've been tempted to just let 5 or 10 guys pass at the start to give myself a race.
Maybe once/(if) I do reach A+ in another day or 2 I'll start doing that.
I even tried the '08 NSX one race and it is actually very fast as well, a little harder to put the pedal down as quickly but still competitive. I keep going for the Gt-r tho hoping i'll race aliens again. Hopefully the fast guys come back once Fia's are done tomorrow night?

I gave in and bought the -08 GTR. It's faster, easier to drive and more fun. I wish I had known.
Still, bottled a few times so only gained one position in each race. But it's a fantastic combo, just like last week.
I can't help but dred what will come sfter

The Lexus is also a very nice driving car. It isn’t as fast as the Nismo, but has a lot better turn in and feels more stable through the corners.

The '08 GT-R is faster, with BoP has a little more ponies under the hood, but is also a little heavier although it feels it has a lower center of gravity. It's generally quicker but not as effective on trail braking as the new Lexus, at least the way I drive, so the Lexus feels more consistent to me.

I think this corner is more dangerous than the bus stop in GR.2. I've seen it taking out many people including me.

And always so dramatic :)

I went full turbo in this race. All the cars around me had already dive bombed or bumped me, full throttle!

I don't usually drive this aggressive, but it is fun sometimes and it got me away from trouble. Still red S at the end.

On the first lap it seems more slippery than the next laps, cold tires, dirty air? I dunno but i can take that corner consistently for laps and laps, except the first lap. The death chicane i simply lift, including my Q lap, so that leaves me out of the races with the insane crowd that doesn't lift... HAHAHA #LifeTricks

We'll be trying that out after the FIA tonight!
That is a decent win for once. Tonight I had the NSX and one of the Lexus on the wheel, nope BRZ instead.

Got to say the penalty system has been crazy with some of the races lately but it seems that in my lobbies it has pretty much just started throwing darts at random. I get shoved wide in the esses, keep the wheel straight and the loud pedal on, save it but lose 2 positions. 0.5 for ignoring track limits. Next race a guy in front just clears the path, barges a guy wide on the opening chicane, drives one off by pushing him completely wide at the end of the esses and then punts the next guy into the wall at the death chicane. Total penalties, 1 sec. He ended up beating me for second but that is because I missed my turn at the chicane and did the outside wall bounce, so nothing dirty on me.

After all the wall penalties at Tokyo and the strange track.limits at RBR it seems like some tracks just have a very unusual penalty set up.

On the upside I stayed up for 2 more races, not 100pct clean as there were bumps a couple of times while passing, just racing incidents with no wrecks, but repaired SR back to 99. Not that it seems to mean much with the way some drivers have taken the racing.

And with the 08 GTR I dropped a second off my qualifying lap as I found my turn in at the start of the esses and was able to nail the chicane too.

Drift Alliance motto...."Never lift!" ;)

If you see three cool cars and one 🤬 car, you *will* get the 🤬 car... especially if any of the cool cars are ones you have bought and would then be able to sell to keep the gift car.

There's no point to stopping for new tires in the Miatabowl, is there? I feel a significant drop off starting around lap 12-13 but that's probably not enough to make it worthwhile.

No, not at all. My first race I forgot there was tyre wear. Until next race I could feel a little less grip through T5 - 6 but not enough to warrant changing them. The front left is the only tyre that had some significance of wear (around 45 - 50% worn) and I didn't reach that point until the last few laps. Not a single person has entered the pits in all my races so far if that places it into perspective.

We talked about reporting players and that it made no difference except to peace of mind.
But has any of you ever reported a player and then wound up in a race with him?
I think it might block you and the player from matchmaking together, at least for a while.

No, not that I can remember but then I only tend to report extreme incidents, like when one driver is basically performing take outs and usually that person has dropped loads of SR, even if they didn't quit, so they won't be in the next couple of races anyway.

File this one under "Other".

Suffice to say, first time in 313 races that I've deliberately punted someone. Am I proud of myself, no. Would I do it again, maybe.

The signs were there from the beginning. Race C, Tsukuba, I started 3rd, but was immediately divebombed by 5th into T1. The villain in question naming himself after a fast yet aggressive F1 driver of the not too distant past. Pretty apt, as the guy was fast, but very aggressive and inconsistent. When a few laps later I made a clean pass (due to him running/sliding wide) he simply dive bombed again at the next hairpin. Sometimes you see it coming, but there's so little you can do.

Dropped back to 5th, and watched him pull all sorts of crap on the P4 guy (weaving, brakes checks, forcing him off track) and never getting a penalty.

On the last lap I'd had enough, really didn't want this guy to collect a podium and "forgot" to brake for T1. Yes I ruined my race, and in the end with the ensuing penalty I got it only cost him 1 position and cost me 2.

Like I said, I'm not proud of myself but we all have our breaking point.

(Post race, two players called him out, he reported me, and the guy he'd continually assaulted thanked me. Everyone else must have enjoyed watching the chat!)

I don't know about anyone else but post race chat wars make part of waiting for the next a little more entertaining. :P I usually always stick around if people start firing messages at each other.

I've felt an urge to (seems only natural) although I've conditioned myself to never retaliate anymore, I say to myself there's no point dropping down to the other guy's level. It usually always results in a worse outcome.

A caped crusader! Coming to the aid of the harassed.

This is normally me. Just lost it last night though. I think it's brake checks that really get me, they are just such a calculated way of cheating.

Haha .
Not sure caped crusaders usually feel so guilty though. It's part of the reason I posted, kinda like a confessional.

First race in a couple of months :D daily race C
Had about 15 mins warm up started 2nd by lap 7 or 8 I was able to catch up 1st place after fending off drivers at the start then being a bit sloppy myself.

from then on it was bumper to bumper, really close but so hard to pass on this track! Last lap there was a little nudge so I backed out to ensure I never stole his place, managed to get the inside into the last hairpin and won by a second and a half. Vid below skip to about 12 mins in that’s where it starts to get very close.
Also was it a fair win, I put him under a lot of pressure and that tap at the end.

Yep, unfortunately. Awhile back I ran into a very aggressive and abusive driver who I reported and then also blocked on PSN.

Next few lobbies they were still in with me.

Yes, reporting does absolutely nothing. Only sending them or yourself to a different SR bracket helps. I always end up with the people I report, either in the next race or soon after they restore their SR. Blocking on psn doesn't do anything either.

Starting good today, 7:30 am race, disconnected during matchmaking.

Race C is quite fun this week, but im not sure if its me loosing focus or the tires just falling off. Ill set the fastest lap in the first half of the race and then the last 4 or 5 laps my speeds just gone. Anyone else finding this?

Hey Guys,I've been reading all your posts on how good of car the 08 NISSAN is.So I figured improving my 128.8 I did with the 16 NISSAN would be a no brainer. I spent 45 minutes qualifying and couldn't get with in a second of my time .Tried different settings to no avail.Once again I'll be surrounded by Meta cars I can't drive in the Daily races :lol::lol:

my lap times dropped due to the tires but I wouldn’t say they went off, just natural performance loss. Try setting your break bias to the rear.

I tried the GTR last week, it had lots of power and weight, but brakes and steers like a super tanker. The gr3 car is superfast, Good brakes and turns reasonably well. But BB is at 3 for me. When I had it at -1 it was impossible

Yes, we all have our braking point. Just sometimes we intentionally miss it.:sly:

I'm starting to get withdrawal symptoms. 10 hot laps of Daily B on Monday and not even turned the PS4 on since. Looks like I'll be busy all week including the weekend. At times like this I feel like I'm not earning the right to comment. If you don't race then you don't have an opinion.

I'm in a similar position in terms of racing thus far.. but that doesn't stop me from posting :P. Opinions are like :censored:holes, everyone has one ;). I habn't been posting many race reports because a lot of my races have been disappointing and any report would be not much more than a whinge session about how crap race matching is, how terminally broken the penalty system is, and how everyone cheats, because I didn't win .

Instead I pull the trigger from the shadows :sly:. Ok ok, the truth is I'm posting to get likes... I'm hoping PD's spy on GTP will award me with an easter egg trophy once I get over a certain number of likes .

PD are indeed monitoring this thread. They are going to give in game trophies for likes on GTP. However, in keeping with the likes on liveries and pictures in game they will be awarding the trophy for likes given rather than received. @Pigems it to be awarded an honorary trophy.

@sturk0167 next the kid smashes it's teeth off the floor and the father has to spend a night in an emergency room with a screaming child and the mother who continues to stare at him scoldingly which he thinks is the worst thing in the world until the girl at the desk reminds him that his medical cover does not include dental and he gets the bill for the treatment. Then he has to watch as the kid grows up with a speech impediment caused by the damage only to be bullied in school for years with their peers asking them to recite "she sells sea shells on the sea shore" just for sssits and gigglesst. Years later he'll still be paying medical bills in the form of therapy sessions as the now young adult tries to cope with the psychological issues resulting from the abuse. Of course, the wife has since divorced him. He still has the pillow though as it reminds him of better times.

I found it funny none-the-less.:D

I know the feeling, and I just reached my braking point again. Getting dive bombed race after race and either getting SR Down or even a penalty for it, I can only take it so many times. I dropped myself to SR.A after he bumped me first for SR Downs then a dive bomb delivering me a penalty. Of course he still got off with a neutral S, fine, don't have to see him next race and I can find out how much SR race B is this week.

He left quickly in the post race chat. And yep, another up down SR chart, fast but only knows how to pass dirty. Anyway it's not the drivers that get me to my braking point, it's the penalty system rewarding dive bombs.

Next race, dive bombed again, SR Down again. However this time the Brazilian left to SR.A as his second dive bomb got him a penalty, then another one when he lost it on corner exit and rammed me into the wall again. +3 SR for one SR Down.

Yeah, that's understandable. Over time I've come to terms that it's ultimately not worth me losing places and the SR drop to take out revenge on a random kid/manchild.

At the end of the race, I'm glad I won't see them in lobbies again or not for a while, those people usually will tank their SR and (hopefully) stay racing with their kind in lower SRs.

Ill set the fastest lap in the first half of the race and then the last 4 or 5 laps my speeds just gone. Anyone else finding this?

I'm around 0.3 - 0.5 seconds slower in later laps. Tyre wear does become more apparent at that point so sounds about right.

I have been out of the loop for the summer and most of the fall, but WTF has happened?

The penalties seem worse now than ever in penalizing the victim. These races at Tokyo are killers. Guys don't even try to avoid contact, they bounce of your car, slam the wall as a result and then bang, penalty. At the same time, I had been sandwiched into the wall by a car that drives off with no penalty at all.

Also, did I miss something in an update? Maybe I am out of practice, but my race pace is awful. It's as if my cars are always slower than those around me. It's like they turned on rubber banding in Sport Mode. Any else notice this?
