PD are indeed monitoring this thread. They are going to give in game trophies for likes on GTP. However, in keeping with the likes on liveries and pictures in game they will be awarding the trophy for likes given rather than received. @Pigems it to be awarded an honorary trophy.

@sturk0167 next the kid smashes it's teeth off the floor and the father has to spend a night in an emergency room with a screaming child and the mother who continues to stare at him scoldingly which he thinks is the worst thing in the world until the girl at the desk reminds him that his medical cover does not include dental and he gets the bill for the treatment. Then he has to watch as the kid grows up with a speech impediment caused by the damage only to be bullied in school for years with their peers asking them to recite "she sells sea shells on the sea shore" just for sssits and gigglesst. Years later he'll still be paying medical bills in the form of therapy sessions as the now young adult tries to cope with the psychological issues resulting from the abuse. Of course, the wife has since divorced him. He still has the pillow though as it reminds him of better times.

I found it funny none-the-less.:D
Sorry to hear that that's how it turned out, but that punk kid totally started it.
I bet he doesn't hit people with pillows anymore. 👍

I have been out of the loop for the summer and most of the fall, but WTF has happened?

The penalties seem worse now than ever in penalizing the victim. These races at Tokyo are killers. Guys don't even try to avoid contact, they bounce of your car, slam the wall as a result and then bang, penalty. At the same time, I had been sandwiched into the wall by a car that drives off with no penalty at all.

Also, did I miss something in an update? Maybe I am out of practice, but my race pace is awful. It's as if my cars are always slower than those around me. It's like they turned on rubber banding in Sport Mode. Any else notice this?

You probably need some practice, and check if your R2 trigger still goes to 100% throttle. They tend to wear over time.

Wall penalties have been significantly reduced, which has made people more aggressive on the track and often causing problems by bouncing off the walls. The time between getting hit and getting SR Down for it has also been reduced a lot. You can now get punted, get SR Down, then a 5 sec wall penalty if you don't slide into the wall within a second after the punt. The penalty time has also been reduced again, 1 or 2 sec is now way more common than 3 to 5 sec penalties. It all leads to more aggressive driving, thus increasing the amount of incorrect penalties.

Down to 68 SR now, BS penalty from a track re-entry. I got spun out and 2 sec penalty for forcing the other car off the road... It's all so backwards.

Wall penalties used to be worse!?

The amount of contact needed was very slight before, now it seems that as long as you hit the wall with the back half of your car you're fine. Nose first and wall riding still gets punished, but diving into a corner with a slide and using the wall to straighten you out 👍 :ouch:

It's very inconsistent though. I had a few instances on Tokyo where I was stuck on the wall (in a straight section) with cars right next to me, not losing any speed but I guess still slightly touching the wall. 10 sec penalty for wall riding on a straight

But yes, it used to be, any slight touch to the inside wall, clipping the apex, was already 5 sec. Tiny touch on corner exit, 5 sec.

I know the feeling, and I just reached my braking point again. Getting dive bombed race after race and either getting SR Down or even a penalty for it, I can only take it so many times. I dropped myself to SR.A after he bumped me first for SR Downs then a dive bomb delivering me a penalty. Of course he still got off with a neutral S, fine, don't have to see him next race and I can find out how much SR race B is this week.

He left quickly in the post race chat. And yep, another up down SR chart, fast but only knows how to pass dirty. Anyway it's not the drivers that get me to my braking point, it's the penalty system rewarding dive bombs.

Next race, dive bombed again, SR Down again. However this time the Brazilian left to SR.A as his second dive bomb got him a penalty, then another one when he lost it on corner exit and rammed me into the wall again. +3 SR for one SR Down.

Yeah. He divebombed me and he almost hit me. Definitely dirty.

Full SR.A lobby delivered the clean race bonus. For me anyway, a whole bunch left with red As and Bs. I finished 4th, from 5th down all red SR. SR.A dirty is easier to avoid.

Anyway, race B is worth 7 SR this week for a contact free clean race. Back up to 75, 4 more of those to get to 99.

15 sectors in race B, 0.47 SR per sector this week. Same number of sectors as last week in race B, yet 1 less SR.

Asolutely loving race B this week. Monday was intense getting into the groove of things. Learning how fast you can go, how to take the bus stop without lifting, it felt insane. Got to 1.2915 and felt maxed out, but was loving racing against tons of A+ guys doing 27's and having to battle hard to gain a few positions every race. Today i felt more relaxed and confident i guess and maybe after my 5th practice lap I broke 1.29 and then every lap for the next 4 or 5 laps i gained another tenth until i hit 1.285
Felt pretty good about it and have been starting pole alot now and winning quite a few, farming Dr now, gained 10k almost in the last 2 days (34000 -> 44000). Which Im pretty pumped on and am feeling pretty confident I will be able to reach A+ for the first time.
Unfortunately it seems most of the aliens or at least A+ guys stopped racing tonight as I dont think I saw any today whereas yesterday I must have seen 2-4 per race. So who knows..
Im enjoying gaining Dr but cant help but wish there was tougher competition, even though Ive seen most ly all A dr rooms all night, in which if you make even one mistake you basically lose 10 positions. @Qyn It was good to see you out there multiple times tonight.
I've been tempted to just let 5 or 10 guys pass at the start to give myself a race.
Maybe once/(if) I do reach A+ in another day or 2 I'll start doing that.
I even tried the '08 NSX one race and it is actually very fast as well, a little harder to put the pedal down as quickly but still competitive. I keep going for the Gt-r tho hoping i'll race aliens again. Hopefully the fast guys come back once Fia's are done tomorrow night?
Great sharing the track with you as well Player :dopey:. It was definitely a battle starting from 8th some races, and like 12th in others, but still a blast. Seems like everytime I get my DR over 40k, the next race is absolute garbage :ouch:.

That is a decent win for once. Tonight I had the NSX and one of the Lexus on the wheel, nope BRZ instead.

After all the wall penalties at Tokyo and the strange track.limits at RBR it seems like some tracks just have a very unusual penalty set up.

I usually have three cars on the wheel I like the look of and end up with a Corolla Levin! So very much lucked out with that GTR.

I think the penalties at DT are fair, the only place you can really get done for track limits is the Esses, but cutting them can be quicker so that's all above board. At RBR, the track limits are usually for running wide and getting the power on, at DT if you run wide there's usually gravel to catch you and that does far more damage than a 0.5s penalty!

I believe I found someone again using a lag switch

The car in front of me kept dropping bars right before corners then going back up again. Luckily the game ghosted him. Still gave me a good scare, I already shifted down to first to get back out of the gravel I thought I would be in.

I don't know about anyone else but post race chat wars make part of waiting for the next a little more entertaining. :P I usually always stick around if people start firing messages at each other.

I've felt an urge to (seems only natural) although I've conditioned myself to never retaliate anymore, I say to myself there's no point dropping down to the other guy's level. It usually always results in a worse outcome.

isn't it the worst thing in the world when you finish a race and think 'right... you're getting both barrels in the post chat!!' And then away you go putting together the best put down you've come up with in years, only to see that the target has promptly left the chat
I'm happy to say i'm not one of those who then chases him down and sends PM's.. i've had a few sent to me post race and that is when you can gather your thoughts and respond in a friendly and jovial manner that we're all accustomed to
Before now, i've responded with things like ... 'I think i'm falling in love with you' / 'can we get together this weekend for drinks?' / 'can you ask your mum if i left my jacket at her house last night'...:lol::lol:

Try throwing out some nonsensical stuff like telling the winner who finished 20 seconds ahead of you "That was close", or "Almost had it".
Or some insults/accusations that aren't directed at anybody.
I like to have fun with it.

Two times I have said " Next time kiss me first"...

I decided to give a go at dragon trail, and managed a 1.30.537 with an opt of .238 in 15 laps I feel really "jerky" in my movements with these cars, but i did enjoy it much more than i remember. Can do the bus stop flat out, but like the rest of my lap, it's not exactly smooth. I think if i put some time in to learn how to be smoother out there i might be able to hit a mid 29. Using the gtr...

Anyone come to grasp why exactly the 08' gtr is so much faster than the the newer cars @ seaside?
Im feeling like maybe the larger displacement engine has a better torque curve maybe less turbo lag and easier to modulate the throttle?
It seems easier to get on the power through and out of the apex.
I also tried the older nsx and it seems able to keep up as well. Beauitful car with an awesome engine note as well, but definately a lot more tail happy and difficult to go full loud pedal before the apex until the front wheels are STRAIGHT. Still a fun car and with practice i think would be good for mid 29's in race.
Although with the level of competition on this track I think you need to beable to break 29 to win in A and above lobbies.

Second week in a row where my lap times have decreased steadily as the week goes on. Setting decent quali times early on, but then never able to match or beat it later on.

Any tips from y'all more experienced drivers on ways to keep the pace up throughout the week?
That's about where I'm at right now. At Tsukuba, I did a pretty good lap, first thing Monday morning. The last two mornings, I've tried to beat it, but I'm not really even coming very close to matching it. :boggled:

I think it has to do with evolving methods. For instance, I've probably experimented with a dozen different ways of going at each corner, trying to find a faster way. Now I can't recall what I was doing differently on Monday morning.

But the old adage that says you're first instinct is usually your best, seems to be true here. Luckily, for me, it was top 10 ten at the time (somewhere in the 50s now ), so the game saved it. I need to go back and watch my own replay.

I never save any of my lap replays, but maybe it's a good idea to do that when you get a fast one, if you need the reference later.

No idea but the Xanavi Nismo is so much quicker out there. That seems like the sort of thing BoP was meant to even out. And you'd think Gr.2 would be the easiest group in GTS to match with only 6 cars.

I guess it shows how hard BoP is. Like in real life motor sport.

On the bright side, trying the different cars on DT Seaside this week is fun. You want them to feel different. And seeing what cars are most used is helpful.

BoP should be based on tracks, but we all know it isn't.

Good point. It could be applied to more settings than just power and weight. For instance, the McLaren F1 is nearly useless in the Gr.3 races that don't have long straightaways. It's brakes and handling make it a liability on a lot of tracks. Try racing it on a track like Barcelona against an RSR or Supra, and see if it feels like there's a Balance of Performance.

I disagree. I think some cars should be better at certain tracks, while others on other tracks. As in real life. The problem is that PD keeps on putting the same tracks up.

True, but the tracks are also up for a full week. After a few days or the second day already all the races tend to turn into one makes. At least in the top split lobbies. Back to dailies or better bop.

An auto bop system would be interesting. A DR style exchange in HP and weight between the cars that keep winning and those not getting used or finishing last. It would invalidate qualifying and the cars would drive differently all the time. Nvm, horrible idea

At least balance the cars better for fuel / tire saving races. The bop for that should be different than the bop for driving without fuel weight and tire wear.
