Be like Brad Pitt. Get good at counter-punching. 👍

It's not in my nature, but if I see the little bugger in one of my races again, I might just give him/her a little PITT for the memories.......No naming and shaming of course, but their name will appear in my video tomorrow.....Serves him/her right! ;)

The last race of the evening for me, and in the same race as winner @GOTMAXPOWER .........I started 5th, and got up to second on lap 4........Last lap, and it all got a bit dirty.....Video up tomorrow for all your viewing "pleasure"..........

Something really has to be done with these cheats, they just spoil it for others all the time....... :/
It wasn't me (this time)!

I've been trying to beat my 2016 qualifying time with the 2008 car, it feels better in every way but the best lap is still 0.001s slower, I give up for tonight but will try again tomorrow.

:D

Well done with your win mate, fun race that, I love the Trail of the Dragon!! I hope to see you there tomorrow for some more!

Second race on Tokyo, now with my livery actually finished.

Consistently 6th again, against a stronger field this time and starting 20th!

Still a few scratches from getting bumped in lap 1, must do better! I did a DT: Seaside race in between hence the 2 clean races. Now a long wait again until the 3rd race in the rain. I love racing in the rain. Just look at how awesome lap 1 is:

3rd race, no clean race bonus, got tapped in lap 1, but 5th place finish. No red dot, together with the one finishing in 6th, rest all penalties. The field was a bit weaker, I had door number 7 this time, and 5th place was only worth 7 points more than 6th in the last one. Most fun race of the three I did with a 5 lap battle for 5th with 2 other drivers. I got away for the last 4 laps and was closing in on 4th but ran out of time. Coming up on T1 in HDR with all the brake lights coming on, amazing!

More rain please, more more!

I managed to pick off a couple wins on the alter ego Monday.
The Dragon is in the name of the track for a reason.

Oh yeah, hi all...

Shake and Bake!

It was a tough call whether to go with my current handle or switch to joe Isuzu, not sure I made the right choice tbh.

Welcome back man, it was nice racing with you the other day. And don’t worry about a name, they can always be changed. :)

I have tried it, and I agree about the handling, however it is too slow on the straight in my opinion.
I have found the Megane to be the best balanced for it, I have done a 2.09.6 in it

& @delboy01 I’d agree with that. Initially I thought TT and had it at 1:11:192 with 1:10.8(?) optimum. I tried the Megane and after 2 laps had it down to 1:10:390 with 1:9:7(?) optimum. Megane can certainly lap well there...

...I’m still not sure my SR could handle a 2nd race though.:boggled:

I ran two race B this morning,an overly aggressive Englishman was no qualify and came barging up the field, pushing people off left and right.
He came up behind me at the long downhill too the water, brakes late, went in on my inside. I used my standard line while trying to make room. That made me undercut him and come back in front of him. He instantly rams me up the behind so I run into the rail. He got 2 seconds penalty. He had runnings with a lot of us and informed us in chat that he reported us. Then he called me dive-bomber. Reporting 4 guys in one race is to me like a mirror. He should rewatch the videos and then the replay.
It's on my profile in GTS if anyone wants to see it.

Well, ran a race C, brought me from SR B (after his shenanigans) to S in one race. Right now sitting in pit because I actually fell asleep behind the wheel...

Wasn't me.

After 100 kilometers of quali at Dragon Trail I managed a 1:31.6.

I don't think I can break under the elusive 1:30 time, hats off to people that are seconds faster than that.

I'm sitting on a 1.30 flat (or thereabouts).

I've improved it steadily over 3 days but every time I do I just get flung into faster lobbies, usually placing between 8th and 14th.

Ive actually run 1.29's during races but Im struggling to see the point in working on my qually time any more.

Yes, it's alright for fast drivers to no qualify and try to make up places but I find a lot of them get frustrated because they are behind slower drivers and expect to just glide up to the front. The obvious result of a no quali start is you are going to be at the back which does not grant an automatic right to barge thought. While I will allow an obviously faster driver through, say, if he qualified well ahead of me and I can see he had an incident that caused him to be behind me, but I will not allow a no qualifier through no matter how fast he thinks he is. If he wants to be in front then qualify or earn it.

Funny what you say about SR on Daily C. I enjoyed Daily A and have good pace there but it absolutely killed my SR. I was half thinking of racing A-C-A-C, trying A for good quali and actual racing and then do C from the back, stay away from trouble and finish last just to get SR back that I'd lose at Tokyo.

The massive dirty air effect, midfield dive bombing and general difficulty of running a clean race would make me spend a lot more time on qually. If you're doing 1:29s in the race you should be doing 1:28s in qually as I don't think the tow offsets the dirty air.

Well, I had my go on Race C. Lulled to sleep and nodded wide on the last turn lap 10
Saved it so no crash but lost my clean race bonus. Went up a couple of spots but man, what a slog. Did get 21 SR up even with that. That race is an SR farm.

Edit: and a cure for insomnia. It is hypnotic but slow

It is really difficult to do 15 good laps. It's deceptively challenging that race. If the cars just had a little more power/less weight, I think I'd be spamming it all week.

It is definitely a challenge to nail 15 laps like that in a car that responds to things sluggishly but loses momentum so easily. The first couple of laps are big as everyone is in a massive blob, my race went 4 wide down the back straight. But once it spreads out it is like qualifying except any microscopic mistake loses you lots of time.

I presume his username was a strong tell, because the Union Flag represents all four countries of the United Kingdom and we don't get individual flags for each.
No, sorry about that. A UK resident. Unless it's someone from a different region masking as a UK resident.

Edit: as an answer to @6BK since I still can not multiquote.
I will happily let a faster driver by, it's a win-win, he gets by and I get slipstream. That's assuming he tries to overtake at a sensible spot. This guy tried to pass on braking, another guy he tried to pass in the chicane ahead of me, going two wide.
He passed me 3 times in a 5 lap race, saying something about how his race was. And then, when he has been in multiple crashes, he says it is us who are dirty.
I'll stay away from him. He is SR C so I hope I won't have to deal with him again.

I've seen several people say similar. I can only guess you had a comfortable time buffer between others? It's difficult for me to fall asleep with a car < 0.2 seconds behind me.

Lobbies have been pretty close for QTs. My last had a 1:11.2 pole, me with 8th at 1:11.5 and 20th with 1:12.2 so most of us had a similar pace to each other.

Is the difference in grip between quali and race in Race B ALL about the dirty air? The difference in turn in on the fast left before the uphill sweeping right left fast 5th gear corners is so significant.
I think it's all dirty air. A couple of times once the field spreads out I've done a race lap equal or better than qualifying and no cars within 4 seconds in front of me for a tow.

& @kevlar_hybrid if you are used to racing lower class cars then slipstream may feel very different for you in Gr2 cars. The faster cars with greater downforce are are more effected by changes to the air that creates that downforce - dirty air.

Good morning, I think. First race
S7LsERT.gif

5 sec penalty, 2 places down at the finish.

He either lost control, or lag, or trying to push me gone wrong. I was drifting to the left as well, no coffee yet. But 5 sec, while wall riding was only 1.5 sec in FIA last night which still gained people time lol. I mean, how is this 5 sec, when a punt into the sand gets someone 2 or 3 sec.

-11 SR to wake up with, got tapped from behind as well for 2 SR Downs to add on top. 88 SR here we go.

Race 2 coming from 0.736 sec behind...
4N0LzxQ.gif

4 sec for getting dive bombed (Blue S for him) He tried to avoid me, good job!

83 SR left after 2 races.

Given how generous Tokyo tends to be with awarding penalties, it was particularly surprising that such an exploit was possible in last nights FIA. The person doing it in my race managed to run out of fuel though, which was very satisfying to see
