Did a Daily B just now. Top 3 were all A+/S rated while I am a high DR B (23k ish). Never had a chance on catching the top guys, but was under pressure from a German guy for the first lap. Then a Englishman joined the battle and I managed to pull away while they fought.

Finished in solid 4th place behind the top guys and gained 700 DR points towards my mission of reaching DR A.

For a while I barely touched Sport Mode, been focused on league racing, but lately been doing the occasional race/races, and my DR is climbing. Feel like DR A is a realistic goal for me :)

just venting my frustration... i am trying to get a clean lap in, and people drive like idiots, bumping me THEN i am the one who get the penalties...

So much for giving them room to maneuver around me... but they HAD to go and kick you in the dirt as they pass you... F that man

This penalty system is not working out

EDIT:

where do you have to go to see your DR and SR points ?

I feel your frustration but this has happened to most, I found if I can't get in front of the pack hang back and watch how things unfold you do start to get the feel for who to stay clear of and how to be patient then make your move to pass.
I did 2 race A yesterday, was in P7 & 8 and stayed clean from contact penalties but this has been learnt from many hours of racing and I'm still a biginner.
Good luck and hope to see you on the track.

Around Nürburgring, especially the GP layout, I prefer to keep up with the driver infront and overtake on a straight or get the inside before a corner. The GP layout has plenty of hard braking zones that are perfect for solidifying moves and for defending, and it makes for great racing! Just don't weave in the braking zone and make sure to commit to your line, even if the driver behind is outbraking you and you feel the need to make it a bit narrower for them; don't. ;) They may panic and cause chaos especially at turn 1.

On another note, with a free night from studying I've been trying different cars to improve my laptime at the GP layout, and... I've found my car. :D

Might be some of you's first times seeing this car on track soon enough. Honestly, I am quite the agressive driver when it comes to hotlapping, as in I like to get on the power and slide a bit in some corners over the more methodical approach that is dosing the gas. The Citröen? It responds to my calling, in such a bright mood. :D

While the V12 Vantage which I admittedly like would oversteer a bit too much for my liking (and I think it lost me the battle in my previous Epic Race video), the GT By Citröen bites you, but really late. And since my style is something that I do out of instinct and I feel (in my opinion) that I've finessed over my simracing years, it adjusts perfectly to me. Out of corners 4, 6, 10 and the final chicane, I could instinctively feel the car rotate a bit more than it should, but I let it correct itself with almost minimal input.

I can't go much quicker than, maybe a tenth (because I feel I can do better at the Schumacher Esses and the final chicane), but I certainly did much better than with the V12 Vantage; I improved by almost a second just because the car and myself adapted to each other way better. So don't use the METAs, I guess. It's way more fun to use what you like and what likes you .

...also it looks SICK and I am 99% sure I'm signing with Citröen for the Manufacturers series next week. Will probably, hopefully, be fighting for some podiums tomorrow in Race B. Watch out for that armadillo-lookin' car!

So I went in country in the gigantic DBR9.
I started second and the pole sitter, a Canadian was able to run mid 56 in race.
Bravo!
I managed 57.7 and 57.8 then just gave up even trying to push haha. There’s soooo much grip there, on hard tires, almost like they tweaked for more grip for sunny or something, total opposite like Suzuka on rh... I need to race maybe tomorrow, after that the qual times will be so low it will get very tough.
Pretty cool tho many cars can work here in race imo. I’m not sure if Zi can get into the 56 tho that takes a pretty squeaky clean lap...

My DR and SR went downhill after a couple of attempts at Race A bumper cars.
This weeks Race B is much fun. I'm trying to handle the GR3 cars and getting on it but online players can make you really mad! A pilot who tried to spin me out while i was passing him on straight called me "pathetic" after the race! I have no idea how and why! Ohhh humans!!!! I'm loading the replay atm, may post it here. I had the crb that race btw.

edit: i watched the replay and i'm as clean as one could/can be! Humans are overrated!

edit 2: next race i could get an easy podium but spinned myself trying to give space to an aggressive pilot. Finished 7th. That is ironic.

edit 3: Getting better and having podiums with crb at Race B with the amg gt3

Absolutely post it, so we can see who to look out for. Those people are the lowest of the low but at least it's nice to walk out of it knowing they won't make it far with that attitude. Silver lining I guess. Don't let it get to ya! Plenty of cool people to race with .

No more race A for me... High S Lobby was a mix of A+ at the front all the way to D at the back with a couple of non-qualifiers at B. The entire first lap was chaos from the standing start, a huge pile-up at Turn 1, and punting/retribution for the remainder of the lap. The wreck fest spread things out enough that by lap 2 things had calmed down and I could drive the rest of the race without issue. Don't know how but emerged from that first lap with zero SR- even though I was hit multiple times from all sides, managed to CRB the race, and only lost about 30 DR.. Figured that was as good as it was going to get and ain't going back for another helping of the $#@^ sandwich.

I just ran the one race C I had the time for this morning,9:30.
Q15, works my way up to p8 then my kids enter and disturb me. Not on them, I have to pick my times better. Anyway because of them bustling around I spin in the second to last turn, gets a 1 second penalty and has a slow speed even going into the penalty zone.
Goes for a tire change, naturally slower entrance and behind me comes a GTR full speed, hits me hard just before entering and I come out of the pits with a 3 second penalty and an SR down...
Finished p17....

great time! i'm driving the ford GT and i'm stuck with a 1.57.056 , just cannot break that .57 barrier :banghead:

My son has a toy Viper so we built a livery to match his toy and i promised to show him a race today with the Viper in it. Damn, that was a mistake. She's no good around the 'ring, rear end wants to step out under braking, not terribly but enough to make you hesitate before hitting the gas. Snuck a race in but bet I could do was a high 58.

Grabbed the Genisis and immediately went quicker, finishing with a handy 57.7 and an optimal of 57.3. I am happy with that time and it allows me to race with high B and low A drivers. Gained 4000 DR points with the Hyundai and back to SRS and DRA.

Always been good at the NGP, though I have learnt you don't get rewarded for pushing, hold the apex, hold it, hooooooold it and there's your time. As soon as you try to force things you bleed time.

Was struggling a lot with race A.

It's actually my first day participating at Laguna in Sport mode, so not all defensive and attacking points are clear yet. Always an easy target for someone willing to push you away. Was punted out of the top 10 at least 3 times out of 7 races, which is the worst stats for any race I ever participated.

Got dropped from DR A after a few races like this and got a single good race where I finished second with clean driving overall. Next race I got pushed off-track on the first straight and received an off-track penalty. Clean race otherwise except one little contact on the last lap with no impact on anyone. 1s penalty and my SR plummeted to 57. Always thought I'm too careful a driver to end up like this. Guess I was wrong :boggled:

Nice racing with you last night. The way you passed me on the hairpin is a good demonstration of this advice. Sorry again for the bonehead mistake at the chicane. Missed my braking point and tried to bail out in the wrong direction to go and make it worse. (I had even told myself in the previous race, "Ooh, a GTPlanet member, Don't Embarrass Yourself!") Really nice job handling it and congrats on that win!

I forget - how do the door numbers work again? I know it’s sort of related to the DR each driver has compared to one another, but I also know there’s some weirdness when there’s more than one DR grade involved.

Race A was a hoot. I've learned to embrace the chaos of T1. Just let it happen, stay on track, find your passes in Lap 2 and on. The penalties are absolutely brutal. I'm trying to give space and if someone turns into you its an SR down. One SR down without a penalty is enough to drop your SR, add to that a penalty and ouch. Only managed two out 7 clean. Afraid to even bring up Kudos. LOL. Did pick up a few W's usually from p2. Seems like pole is the worst place to start. That outside into T1 is a death warrant.

I had a great door to door battle with a Brazilian this morning UDI_Wilian. Both gave space, but still raced hard. Lots of fun. It is difficult to have a good race and salvage SR, though. Trying to hang on someones bumper you'll have a touch or two. Not talking murder or push to pass, just little taps. Those SR downs are brutal in Race A.

Ohhhh that was you! Ha I said to my missus there was a particularly polite racer tonight. I think I nabbed you the race before too in a cleaner move than the second race. OK "unclean" is a bit unfair but I was not up to your C-pillar and ddn't make the apex. For T1 a NGP it was clean but I would normally get further up before passing. I was afraid of the yellow Porsche, I'd had 4 races with that guy and he pushes past a bit aggressively and was behind me so I was edgy.

Don't worry about the tap, mostly cos I got away with it! I've had random brain fade there where I use the wrong braking marker, Bathurst into the chase is the same, you realise you're 50 metres too late and oooooohhhhh no.

I was in there with you guys as well. Sitting in the back figuring out the circuit and the cars. :gtpflag:

The SR system seems to have been tweaked a bit. I’m in a bit of a downward spiral. Had a coupe of bad FIA races and thought I could try get it back up in daily races. Got pushed off the track in race B and picked up a 1 second penalty and dropped another 7 SR. I’m down to 61 SR now. Having a tough time at the moment.

You can only gain (a little) SR in race A and B with absolutely no front/back contact. Any penalty or SR Down is -10 SR while race B is worth 6 SR at most with clean race bonus. Race C should have more SR. It depends on the total number of sectors in a race, about 0.30 to 0.45 SR per sector. (Seems to be on the low end nowadays while SR deductions are very high)

As Conspirituus, pretty much. @Groundfish was in there too in his boat.

Good to see yous out and about! Noway I was gonna catch the pole sitter. He’s one of those 56 people like @Natalie_GT.
I can picture the field of mostly male drivers like this when they see the handle pre race against her..:)
Cheers and go GTP

EDIT my name there and here are the same but diff languages
