Been trying Race C. 5 tries so far. Punted every time and forced to run from the back. And then stuck behind those cars. Meanwhile the cars I want to race with finish 30 seconds ahead.

I am not getting hit by cars directly behind me. I am getting hit by cars 5-10 cars behind me. :irked:

Probably should add I've stayed 99 SR and gained DR almost every race. So not a points thing. I just don't want run a 13 lap race from the back every time because someone else made a mistake.

Reading all your chat about lines, braking points and drifting out makes me worried I might screw up someone's race on race B with my poor positioning or bad judgement on where to be on the track, last thing I want is to be is the mupet that ruined the race.

In some of the fast rooms I’ve been in certain drivers will go defensive by running as far as possible on the inside for example Interlagos approaching t1 mirror scraping the inside wall, then they wanna veer out towards the racing line and bonk the car alongside wide.
My response to those drivers now is pinch them tight by running right alongside them so they become trapped way narrow.
It’s a cheeky move but I take an eye for an eye, most days..
Like OK bud that’s where you wanna be that’s where you can stay.

At times it can be safer to run closer to your opponent because if there’s contact it will be lighter.

I know you're probably going to disagree but I am one of those defensive wall scrapers but only late in the race say at the start of the last lap. I do that to let the person know if your going around your taking the long way. i do move up slighty when they have picked the outside I do not pin them on the outside I also do not run them wide. sometimes people do pin me to the wall and thats fine i just laugh and say well that backfired LOL

covering multiple lines is a nice way of saying blocking

Sitting in the middle of the road in Bathurst's Conrod straight, is that blocking? I'm not weaving all around the place, I'm passively defending my position by making it harder for people to pass. Unless that's not how that works in that situation in which case I can only say "welp I've learned something today".

That's not blocking though, that's taking a defensive line .

As for braking points natalie. I brake a touch earlier, I cant get her rotated unless I do.

Ah, what do you drive?

I guess everyone will have a different opinion I would not consider that blocking because your not moving when I move BUT i would consider that not a very sportsman like thing to do. Just pick a lane as stated earlier> I always try and remember which sometimes I dnt would I like that if it was done to me. so in this case riding in the middle taking up both lanes is fine as long as you dnt mind when its done to you

What I do at Bathurst if someone has the run is pick my side assertively. I put them on the side I want them to be and don’t disrupt their run. I think if you’re middle track and your opponent has the run, or let’s say I’m behind you as I’m coming up behind I’m going to be on one side and I’m coming through even if I mow a bit of lawn, if you see that I’m on your left and move left to defend from that initial position middle track I think that’s ok as long as you don’t disrupt my fair run.
In that case I can pass on the right.
Disrupting a fair run st Bathurst to me invites the barge dive or punt in the braking area.
Where it gets stupid is these people who think haha narrow straight and try to swerve block.
For me that increases my chance of slightly missing my braking point ‘accidentally’ exponentially...:)

I agree I hate when people move late or not at all disrupting your momentum. I feel I would not like that being done to me so I try not to do it to other people. The thing that gets is when its being done on lap 1 of a 5 lap race on any track. I f you screw up a bit and the person behind gets a run let them go live to fight another day and if your faster you should have no issue with passing them back. On the last lap I get it you want the win...

Yep lolol that will get you punted immediately if it’s me. Usually it’s someone fast who fell back and think their entitled because of q time! Bugger off wanker!
actually on that note there seems to be a lot of that going on with fuji this week . The pole sitter will over shoot turn 1 hit the astro turf allow 2 ,3, maybe even 4th to scoot by and then its like hey get out of my way entitled person coming thru

Its so hard to get out of hell when you get reset. Just nothing but trash all around. The closest ive got to getting out is to sr C thanks to getting pole and driving away because i shouldnt be in a lobby with these guys to begin with.

I understand resetting SR but a DR reset makes no sense. Im faster than most of the people in the lobby but i cant gain dr/sr if i get hit every corner and get a penalty for my troubles. I guess a DR reset would make sense...if the penalty system actually worked and you didnt lose SR and receive penalties for getting hit by guys who have no business being in sport mode.

My favourite is when a car slides sideway in front of you and you tap it trying to avoid on the way by and get a 4 second penalty. This dog **** penalty system cant even figure out that a car sideways in the middle of the track should be ghosted or at least be at fault for idk... BEING SIDEWAYS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GODDAMN TRACK.

"hurr durr I've spent 10 hours on my super fast quali time obviously im entitled to win this race"

*gets passed inmediately*

"nooo this can't be happening i am way faster!!!"

*gets punted*

*ragequit*
last night fuji race I was pole sitter I get dive bombed turn 1 person door slams me I was able to keep it on the black top he gets 1 sec ptly and hits the turf allowing me to pass him back before turn 2 where he gets another penalty with the now 2nd place driver. But for some reason this was all my fault because at the chicane just after the back stretch i guess he never brakes comes from 3rd or 4th to t-bone me right off the track gets another penalty we both get reset in the middle of chicane then proceeds to t-bone me again gets another penalty then rage quits.???? This all from an A/S driver who has a top 100 time in America region seriously.................

Lmao yep.
Herman Tilke was the worst track ‘designer’ in history. Fuji is abysmal.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the reason there weren’t full A S rooms prime time last night on B race is that a lot of the regulars have gotten resets or sr troubles and that’s a good thing imo pen system wise. It’s a positive step towards S sr becoming more meaningful.

The last sector at fuji might be the worst piece of racetrack I've ever seen. Absolutely zero fun.

Honestly, Tilke isn't that bad apart from some tracks *cough* Yas Marina *cough*. But Fuji is so eeeeeeh...

Maybe if it was a fully high speed circuit I'd like it more. Imagine if it had two layouts, one that was like an oval, connecting the sweeping right hander to a straight and then sending that onto another sweeping and banked right hander back onto the main straight, and another layout that is basically the current one, but replacing the slow, boring and insufferable final sector with a few high speed esses and then back onto the main straight.

I do like drawing... maybe I can draw it to show what I mean. But I've probably conveyed it well enough, I think.

Daring pass at Nur GP chicane

Have tried the same attack at 2nd lap passing the p2 but he blipped the gas and made me spin. I cant blame him much tho.

I had a reset again btw. Those wrx gr3 drivers are twitchy.

Middle of the road is normall a valid line as you force the guy behind to pick an option, but on Conrod, yeah, it's technically ok but unsportsmanlike.

You need to think ahead TBH, do i trust this guy? If not, I want to be on the inside of the fast right and risk being passed on the inside of the left hander. Because unless you absolutely trust the guy, you WILL be run off the road through the right hander and guys fail to hug the inside line.

And here I present, the better rendition of Fuji Speedway! With a touch of quintessential American motorsport. ;)

Thoughts? :D

Speaking of Fuji and sr...Last time we had Fuji gr2 (what week before last haha?)
I think the b race was Interlagos maybe...
Anyways I ended up in a filthy dirty battle and ended up getting taken out then taking out at least another 5-7 cars, not a proud moment...
So I started from the back farming the sr at Fuji...Finally recovering to 99...
BUT in EVERY SINGLE RACE there were players who would take out as many cars as possible then quit.
2 races I didn’t start last and ducked into the pits for safety before starting lap 1 because I saw what was happening...
