If a faster(top speed wise) car is behind you, I'd say start on RS. If a similar car is behind, maybe go RM/RS. I feel the players in your race, will determine what strategy you choose.

Done a couple, racing from the back, a tough track to overtake on, but been good fun.

Generally done 4S/2M/3S. But that only works if you get the gap for the second stop. Otherwise I preferred the 5S/4M.

Maybe starting up front. Your strategy could vary.

Didn’t see the BoP had changed before the final LS slot. I was mystified by why the Porsche was 9 seconds slower than usual.

The Vantage is still pretty good on The Mountain. I’ve only run one race for one win but there were A LOT of GTRs. I think 5s/4m will be my optimal strategy in the Aston. I’ll probably try every Group 3 car this week though as I love the challenge of Bathurst and all its different little tests.

I lost 69 SR and he lost just 7
How do you know what he dropped unless you stalk him? Serious question as I know it must be possible but no idea how to do it.

TT getting more power sucks and the extra weight might be enough, but I'd think only with tyre wear.

Tried a C and no time to Q so sucked, but pitted 1st lap and only lost about 4 secs to the pack I was following so 1M/4S/4S was probably my best bet. Thought the loss was nearer 6, but followed MaxPowers advice and think it saved a sec or 2.

I used 6s/3m in the race I did, but lap 6 was slower than lap 3 on the mediums.
I only jumped in, but I was slowing by the end of the 3rd lap on softs, I suck at tyre management though. Meds felt really bad, but again I had no practice so not really much to go on. Once I've figured out what car to drive I'll worry about the tyres. The Vantage was too skittish for me. Might try the Genesis, did well with that last time.

5M/4S in the Yeetle, I always seem to kill my tyres harder than everyone else

I can see a 4S/2M/3S could work if you get the right gap.

EDIT: Next race, disconnect during matching, lose 5 SR. Great.

Did the alt with RX-V from the back.18/19 Had a Vantage behind and C7 ahead. Ran 5RM/4RS. A couple cars went off and penalties. After my pit, I was 16/19. Got held up by an NSX on RM. It yielded down Conrod.
Of note: had the same Vantage a few seconds behind and I was pulling it once I hit 6th gear. Up Mountain Straight, the RX-V doesn't have the torque. Downhill though, no problem.

Anyway, I caught a different Vantage. It was losing grip from Reid through Skyline. Passed it, when it hit the wall at Forest's Elbow. In the end, finished 11/19.

Race B using the C7.

Have now tried; Vantage, AMG, Corvette, MPower M6 and Viper on Mt Panorama. My fastest race and my fastest lap have been done in the AMG. It is a nice match for the circuit.

The Viper is nice to drive but doesn’t have the pace for me. The Vantage is solid and competitive, I will continue to use that more than once.

I see the Corvette is very prominent in the leaderboard. I can’t make it work for me. It feels really slow on the long straights.

Anyone who can get the M6 around that track without dying has my respect. It feels like it is going to spit me sideways in every turn.

The other observation I have made is that the McLaren F1 is unbelievable in a straight line. I cannot touch it in any of the other cars, even with slipstream. I am not yet brave enough to try the MRs but it will definitely be high on the list once I am.

That's news to my ears. I've been using Kudosprime random car selector to choose my car for the week, and this week the AMG GT3 was my Gr3 car.

It'll be interesting to see how the Huracan fares at Tsukuba...

The BOP update s hilarious. More weight I know but more power for the FF brigade! Insane! And why neuter the 4c or NSX or McLaren or Cayman?????????????????????????????????? I almost never see them, it makes NO SENSE.

I also think the Group 3 changes will just bring me back to running the AMG every race, it used to be my absolute go to before the Genesis and Vantage were helped out but they have been put back in their place again.

I've always had a thing for the AMG, especially round Bathurst.

Been practicing with the AMG this morning in qualy but am having troubles with the understeer and dull front end. Solid predictable car but may have to look for something with a more pointy front end personally. So far I've got a 2.04.xxx in the AMG, lots of work to do.

I ran a 2.05 there last time we were there but I don't think softs were used. Rear end is very stable at cost of understeer, to make up time, floor throttle on exit, no easing on, just to the floor.

Gr.3 on the mountain, is a blast, if you're in the right lobby.

Just a darn shame I won't be able to match my kudosprime lap time. It's so tough to nail a flawless lap around there. Amazing to see people in the 1:58's.

@GOTMAXPOWER, guess we'll wait for the daily track guide to watch you wipe that guy out. Hahaha. 2:00.000 blistering time as usual, sure you'll dip in to the 1:59's

Yeah figured folks would dip into 58's, so then yeah, 2% means I gotta run a sub 2.01 ....ouch. I always struggle out of Hell corner, i don't carry enough mid corner speed. Also struggle through the blind right before forrests elbow and through the elbow itself, i cannot seem to swing right, balance the car and turn in on time. On hards I also struggle to stay flat through the uphill right after the cutting.

I am very quick through the last turn and especially coming down into the dipper and through the esses. YOu can see what I mean here where I was maybe a bit too polite .....

Softs got me down to a 2.02.7xx with the AMG, always forget to switch compounds on these strategy races. Could do better still in the AMG but the understeer is killing me when I try pushing it more, the car definitely will have pace in the right hands this week. Might look at the supra and GTR a bit today and see how they go.

Edit: 2.01.380 in the supra but I doubt it will behave in the race on worn tires, might be a qualy sleeper though, was hitting 172-173mph down the back straight.

My first choice tonight on the Mountain will be DBR9. Stable as heck, Uber fast tcs works great, No one can mess with you if you’re in that tank.

BOP-maybe they nerfed Cayman because they think RSR is THAT strong in gr3?
With no nerf on gr4 Stang I may have to learn the Ford Gt. It’s interesting...Great cockpit, very pointy, like a hybrid of power fr and an R8...Definitely not the most forgiving though and seems to hate the Dipper...

I might try the DBR9 tbh. Light and powerful.

Dunno about lightweight, it’s big stable fast and seems heavy?
I used it last time there.
Jmo but in race there you want massive speed plus massive stability.
Few passes happen over the mountain with decently e matched drivers.
There’s generally a lot of stupid contacts at the Chase and other areas too. Stability helps here.
Stability helps also when making your way down through the Dipper.

In other news the idea to run no TCS is now scrapped. That was a stupid idea.
Tcs will be used or not case by case.

THis, 100% ... and I have watched .... i would guess ....... 35 years x 200 ..... 7,000 laps at Bathurst.

I am just going to leave this .....here.....
