In other news the idea to run no TCS is now scrapped. That was a stupid idea.
Tcs will be used or not case by case.

I give you credit for turning it off at all. You have always been such a proponent of TCS I never thought I'd see the day you'd try to run TCS 0. Definitely hats off to you, sir, for keeping an open mind and being willing to give it a go.

This has to be the stupidest set of things I've ever seen on GT Sport. I pulled off a nice pass on this player but he/she turned in and I got a penalty, obviously a dodgy penalty but nothing unexpected with this game. After the race I called the penalty system 🤬 stupid and they reported me to Sony!!!

The second overtake is pretty sweet too.

I ran a 2.05 there last time we were there but I don't think softs were used. Rear end is very stable at cost of understeer, to make up time, floor throttle on exit, no easing on, just to the floor.

Sounds like the advice I would use for the Mustang.

Thankful PD left my Manufacturer alone... maybe now the Gr4 Mustang can actually put up a fight against the Viper and Corvette with them being taken down a notch.

I'd really like to see how you handle either Mustang. Those cars drive like bricks thanks to a previous handling model tweak. Oddly, that's the same tweak that made the Vipers handling improve.

Softs got me down to a 2.02.7xx with the AMG, always forget to switch compounds on these strategy races. Could do better still in the AMG but the understeer is killing me when I try pushing it more.

Then don't push the car more. I don't know if you were playing attention last week where we were talking about ways to reduce tire wear. When the car begins to understeer (listen for tire squeal), let off the throttle. When the squeal stops, get back on it. It may sound counterintuitive, but it's a skill that people learn. If you watch my videos from Brands last week, you'll see I do it multiple times through some of the toughest corners.

Definitely not the most forgiving though and seems to hate the Dipper...

The Ford GT is unforgiving. And the key to RWD cars through the Dip is be off the brakes & on the throttle (TCS or not). That helps settle the car down.

Yep. Throttle. Truth. I do think though the Dipper shows off some deficiencies in the MR cars handling in GTS...It’s gotten a lot better than originally, but I feel like the GT shows it a little there, that spot on that track...It just doesn’t seem to me that it should be that easy to lose it there in an mr, even not going balls out.
Actually kinda curious what other people think.
I’ll have to try the R8 later since I’ve been driving it lately....I think mr tends to get funky through there...
Lifting at Dipper is certain death because weight shift waaaay forward plus turning equals waaay oversteer pendulum.

The GT is a monster in a good way

I've driven the Gr4 Mustang plenty of times, enough to know it's weaknesses and how it compares to other similar cars. It's definitely lacking in areas... it didn't have the top end or grunt of the Corvette, Jaguar or Viper nor did it have the handling capabilities of them. It's a solid car if you're doing Mustang one make in Nations.

The Gr3 Mustang I feel like is a beginners car.... I feel like anything that car can do I can do it better in Ford GT.

Tried a Race A this morning. Started pole. Finished 3rd. 1 track penalty.

I made two tiny mistakes. But that's all it took to slip down 2 spots. A timid start and a half second track limit penalty at the end, could have easily slipped lower, I think I finished .005 ahead of 4th. Fun race but no room for error.

Not a bad day considering yesterday.
Jumped into race B and the F-Type.
Qualified near the back. With a rolling start there wasn't much chance of overtakes so I just passed those throwing it off the track. Got into the top ten and was on a Russian who got a .5 second penalty. He was slow out of the right hander under the bridge and was half on the grass. I got a run on them towards the hairpin. Of course he didn't like that and nudged me to the grass in the braking zone. I half spun into the gravel on the outside. Thankfully the game reset me. I was down to 12th now. I had a good battle with the Brit ahead. We got passed someone else who fell off and I finished 11th.

Race A.
Qualified almost last. Got someone off the line who was very slow. The someone go speared off before the sweepers. And of course a couple of people went wide at the hairpin. I was up to 7th and behind a Frenchman. I was quicker out the hairpin and they were quicker through turn 1 so made for a good cat and mouse battle. It stayed that way until the end of the last lap. The two cars ahead of us came together out of the final corner. One was slow after hitting the barrier and grass so I passed it easily and the other car had a 3 second penalty from the contact. So ended up 6th in the end. I thanked the Frenchman for a good race and he reciprocated.
Both of these were CRB's.

I still had some time before Race C so went to Complete another circuit experience. Leguna Seca was up. I found the Viper to be handling strange. It just wouldn't brake. I had to start braking well before the brow of the hill and it would only just stop in time for the Corkscrew. After many frustrating attempts to even get anything clean I got my gold times. (first time I got clear runs)
I then jumped into race C with the Vantage. Again my brakes were off into Murrays. I noticed something braking into Griffins. I was fully depressed but the bar was only showing 60-75% braking. (no red for ABS) So my brake pedal had somehow gotten long. I pulled it out of the PS4 and reset the wheel. Restarted and all was fine. Managed 5th on the grid. (The good thing about Bathurst is that it sorts men from boys) The Aston pulls on the straights like there is no tomorrow. I closed on a Mustang and a RS01 well before Griffins. I held back as I expected a move from the Mustang but he held back too. I followed them up the mountain and at The Dipper the RS01 span. (Hands up who saw that coming?) The mustang broke early for Forest Elbow. I hit him but it only put him up the inside of an AMG for a sweet move. I also got past the AMG and earned 3 seconds for my 'punt'. I got a run on the Mustang and the Spaniard behind the wheel just kept blocking. (O.K. I had his number.) Served my penalty on the Mountain Straight and lost 2 places. (The AMG had already barged past at Hell Corner.) I caught up with them quickly as they were battling and I was quicker. Passed the two due to further penalties as they also came a cropper of the Mustang at the Chase. This put me behind the Mustang again for the next lap. :mischievous:
Across the mountain he was braking for corners you don't need to brake for so I knew I was quicker if only I could get past. Got the same run on him along the Conrod. Again he tried his trick but I was part way alongside this time. So I leaned on his back quarter. I was hoping to spin him but instead I ran him onto the grass. He lost speed but was able to knock me onto the grass on the other side. The car kept stable and I was ahead going into the Chase. I kept left and await the inevitable punt. It did come but wasn't strong enough combined with me well into the braking zone it barely effected me. He got a deserved 2 seconds and I drove off. "See ya!" I was now in 2nd and 11 seconds behind 1st. He pitted lap 4 and I was 8 seconds behind. I went 1 lap further. He came out 1.5 seconds ahead. Then going along the mountain I saw yellows. He had binned it at McPhillamy Park. I pitted 8 seconds ahead and came out 1.5 ahead. He closed but must have gone off again as the gap increased to 5 seconds. It stayed that way until lap 7 when he pitted again for Meds. It was a case of keeping it on the road now as I had an 11 second gap to 2nd. Lap 8 and the car spins on the right hander before the dipper. Luckily the barrier spat me out facing the right way and I only lost 4-5 seconds. But I squealed in despair as it happened.
Lap 9 was clean and I crossed the line.

Shame there was no CRB but the win and FL will do nicely and I taught a dirty driver a lesson. Win win. I left him a sarcastic clean driving message and left the room.

Good races bar Tsukuba. (Should be a grid start.) Just need to work on my qualy.

<...snip...> I wake up to find the Viper has lost power in the BoP update. Sigh. Well, hopefully the practice still pays off. I’ll see y’all on the mountain.
The BOP update s hilarious. More weight I know but more power for the FF brigade! Insane! And why neuter the 4c or NSX or McLaren or Cayman?????????????????????????????????? I almost never see them, it makes NO SENSE.

I also think the Group 3 changes will just bring me back to running the AMG every race, it used to be my absolute go to before the Genesis and Vantage were helped out but they have been put back in their place again.

I've always had a thing for the AMG, especially round Bathurst.
Relieved they didn't alter the F-Type Gr.4, after I just found out how good it is! Annoyed they made the Cayman slower though, I like that car...

<...snip...>

So what cars gained or lost? In summary:
  • All the FF's lost when comparing the power-to-rate ratios before and after. The TT faired the worst.
  • The Gr3 Hyundai Genesis silent prowess was spotted and it was reduced. I was hoping it would go unnoticed.
  • The surprise gainers are the Gr 3 Renault RS01 and the Megane Trophy as both have been recent strong competitors in the right combos.
  • In Gr4 the 86 and 4C had some power restored from the last BoP reduction.
These are the cars sorted by the power-to-weight ratio changes sorted by winner to loser.

The second overtake is pretty sweet too.

In my view in both cases you were too far off to pull the overtake cleanly and the other one had no chance to take either corner, there4 i would say you deserve the penalties, no real unfair driving but just not in a position to make a clean overtake.

I'm having good runs in the RX-V. Haven't had an outright bumper-to-bumper battle, with an AMG and Vantage, yet.

With BB -2, The RX-V rotates perfectly for me to get on the gas early. Tyre wear isn't a major factor. It's more about who stays off the walls at The Cutting, Sulman and Forest's Elbow. Staying smooth at The Dipper is key. Good car.

Those +/- on the new BOP are still utterly stupid. Why would they nerf the Group 3 RCF or the McLaren, you never see anyone use the McLaren! It's absolutely insane. And improve the Renault, it is already joint king of the handling tracks. What planet they on?

For group 4, same applies to the Cayman and the NSX.

Words fail me.
Just saying: Pigems ran the Alfa when it got nerfed. Last season he ran McLaren....

Dunno about lightweight, it’s big stable fast and seems heavy?
I used it last time there.
Jmo but in race there you want massive speed plus massive stability.
Few passes happen over the mountain with decently e matched drivers.
There’s generally a lot of stupid contacts at the Chase and other areas too. Stability helps here.
Stability helps also when making your way down through the Dipper.

What's your TCS case for the Genesis? It is highly stable and I find it the most TCS=0 friendly Gr 3 car. Watch out for second gear though.

And, it got BoP'ed -1.0% today.

The 650 in either trim is way too underrated. Strong car. The BOP won’t change much IMO. Didn’t like it at first. It does lack some top end speed, but awesome and fuel and tires wear.

Nothing i sunder or overrated, the market speaks for itself. For most players, they need to be pixel perfect in the 650 to turn the same lap time as an OK lap in a stronger car. We can argue all day about the merits of one car vs the other but why would you nerf a car that is virtually unused?

I don’t play GTS to drive Hyundai!!!
:) lol
I’ve never used the gr3. The gr4 handles awesome, but the sound SUCKS.
No TCS is a bad choice in sport mode, for me 97 percent of time. I’m not Igor Fraga.
Especially at a place like Bathurst.
DBR9! Go big or go home! :)
Block the corners park it on apex OWN the straights lmao, the best recipe for success!

Had a run with a DR S driver in Race A, they showed complete disregard for everyone else on track and just wanted to make up places. I qualified well and have decent pace so its not like I was out of position. I was mindful of the other car beside me, and the DR S driver pushes me and the other car off to make up 2 places in one turn. Then they asked me not to bump them in the post race chat.

Just needed to vent.

Haven't tried Race B or C yet, but both look fun.

S rating means little. A reward for having a good FIA season. Not truely a real rating.

That S driver is probably the same rank as yourself. Especially if it’s in a Daily.

In my opinion yes and I'll be running more later this week as I find them very fun. Not often I Want to run Races A,B and C. I'm normally skipping A
I love the Spec Miata racers and that little track makes for fun racing, if frantic, in the few examples we've had before.... looking forward to jumping into Race A this week when I get a chance. The Spec Miatas are so rewarding to drive, and have some of the best 'real-world' feel of any of the cars in the game, IMO.

Just did an A, Q4 got 1st off the line and no one got near enough to bother me. Good race though because I couldn't just relax, the guy behind was 0.5-1 sec behind most of the way, close enough to keep me honest. Next race was just bumper cars went from 9th to 2nd and then bumped to 7th finished 5th just a joke
