Q: Can you spot the cheater?

A: The creep taking pictures of people in a park.
...that's...not the cheater. That would be the private investigator the wife hired, no?...

Such a random post...

I’ll stop calling him a cheater when he stops trying to justify his cheating. I could care less if he cheats, there’s thousands of them and nothing we can do about it. But if he’s gonna cheat, just man up and admit your cheating, and stop trying to defend it as being ok or just.
I never said it wasn't cheating...and I'm not justifying anything, I'm just explaining the situation. Seriously, does anyone even read what I say or is it, like, all wrong by default just because I'm being labeled as the bad guy? I mean...heck, why do I even bother...

You keep going even after @Barra333 concluded we're both at a dead end? What are you trying to prove, that hasn't already been proven?

I think you are not a cheater. In fact logically there’s no reason I see not to do it in the race too tbh.
Knock yourself out!

Only if everyone else does it... But it would just cause chaos, so...there's that reason.

It's like a part of the players being aware of the perfect line to take through a corner, and the others being unaware. The only difference here is that it's a wall.

But just because it technically shouldn't be allowed, it's cheating... Yes, but no, but yes.

Again it’s nonsense to say that any action within the rules of any game is cheating, since cheating is only defined by breaking the games rules!
Ie don’t hate the playah hate the game.

Exactly. If the game doesn't punish it, no amount of complaining will change the fact that people will keep doing it...

Report the problem straight to the developers, have them fix it. All these words are pointless if the ones who should be fixing the problem aren't able to hear you.

I have no horse in this race, but I play enough different games to know what is going on. Call it "angleshooting" if you will, call it "unsporting" if you want, but in order to cheat you have to be breaking a rule that forbids or penalizes the thing you are doing. So I think if anyone wants to claim that cheating is occurring, it is incumbent on them to cite the rule that forbids the action. Without a direct connection of cheating to a rule/law/penalty, people are just claiming cheating for actions they think are unsportsmanlike.

My personal opinion is that is sucks and should not be allowed, and has tainted the race for the whole week.

The top 5 or so racers all had wall times. That's roughly a third of the people taking part. A third of anything is a significant amount.

I'm sorry, but untill now, most of my starting position races where at top 5 and I didn't make the wall manouver qualification.

I just knowed about the wall cheaters (a few hours ago), when I posted my displeasure, about the running penalty system being worst than the previous.

Just tried doing two races at daily B. Incredible as I lost my will and fun, knowing that some cheaters achieved the qualy time by cheating.
Enough of daily B races for me, untill next monday.

Yes, but no, but yes.

See comments like this are like painting rainbows in the sky. Like huh?

You are a bit afraid of your own position. Just own it. If it’s within the rules...
Before, PD has always been Johnny on the spot fixing serious issues like this.
If they fix it I will probably race it.
::shrug::

What can i say, i guess some are doing it for fun and some for glory , but no need to attack anyone because as humans we got very different views, no way we can all agree what to do and what not to do, Thats why there are rules, and if the rules don’t work then the system is broken , I really blame the system n this one,

Btw In all honesty , No matter how fast you think you are, if you qualified by hitting the wall please don’t enter a race, you don’t deserve that spot,

You also cheated right? It was your replay the first I saw cheating. Maybe this one was your idea?

You see me bragging about it? You see me racing ? As i said some do it for fun and some for glory, nuff said
Doesn't change the fact you posted a wall time... It puts you on the list.

If you happen to be the only one to do it, just once, that's all it takes for many others to follow suit, aaand we get this mess. Welcome to the dark side...

Guys... in case anyone else thought of trying it... bouncing hard off ALL the walls in Tokyo doesn’t work like it does at Sardegna... :P

I know... I think I’ve hit every one and still finished last each time I raced there. @Jwptexas saw it firsthand!

just thought I’d chime in on this “discussion”!

for real, tho... see you all next week. This sucks.

It's been amusing reading the... "discussion" of wanting your cake and eating it too with admitting it's cheating yet going through more hoops than a basketball will go through in a game to say it's ok though when it's them. However, I'm glad that the wall-riding was brought up since I was thinking about trying to set a time to improve my K Score on KudosPrime. But, I won't bother trying to set a time there now because of that.

Did some practice/qualifying for Race C this week. I ran a decent qualifying time of 1:59.420, which is way quicker than I thought I could manage. I’m guessing that should put me up front according to that gtblade site that was posted here a while ago. I could squeeze a quicker time during my laps, but I have a lovely habit of just scraping the walls and killing my momentum. And I’m sure that will cost me a few positions during the actual races.

I’m also hoping that people will fall in line on the main straight and do some bump/regular drafting to keep the speed going for catching up or pulling away purposes. Because if nobody does, I’ll do my darnedest to make it happen. Might even say something pre-race but who knows if they will listen.

My greeting in race is " I bump draft for DR$".
Unfortunately my controller broke yesterday so racing is over for now.

I don't think I'll be doing any of the races this week. Evidently B has issues that I am fortunate enough to now be aware of, and C just looks really boring.

By the way, there is a video in the game that is called Racing Etiquette or something like that. I suggest everyone check it out sometime. It's not thorough but I think it gets the point across.

This has been quite the sequel to @Groundfish & @NevilleNobody Vs the Forum. I wonder who's next?

Is anyone getting any good races in Race A? I love Barcelona but haven't had the time to get on and try any races out. Wondering if the hairpin and the chicane are being used a punt zones or if it's been mostly civilized in Spain this week?
Been the most enjoyable of the week. Mostly quite fair as the car wants to drift often. I imagine the dirty drivers want a more stable car to punt with. Doesn't mean there aren't idiots around.

Kinda sick of punters in Race B, but I just don't like Race C or A. I am not that good in those narrow circuits whereas I don't tend to like the drifty cars in GTS. But Race B is feast or famine for me, yesterday I was doing well, tonight, just anger. Some my fault, if I was doing high 57s/low 58s, then I can't blame anyone for going backwards into trouble. But when I found my groove again, I just get punted.

There will inevitably some incidents in Turn 1, I get it, but there is way too many people who can get away with steaming in just a little too quickly (which I am guilty too for sometimes) and using cars as an additional brake, or people coming together on different line for the corner;just be sensible and yield if you are not in front so we both don't get swamped after the next corner. I take turn 1 very very carefully at the race start, go inside and just take a very narrow slow line which means if I do get punted, I have good stability and then only accelerate when the guys behind had properly slowed down/on different line so I minimize any drama.

But then I had a guy who just knocked me off into the corner with the sandtrap outside, could be honest mistake, but I have no idea how they were not landing in the sand if my car wasn't there looking at the replay. Because I qualified 3rd, I was quite a bit faster than the cars that got past me in this race and recovered to 5th, but then the bit before the S's before the final corner, the same driver totally rammed me to the right after I got an excellent run out of the previous corner and overtook 3 cars squabbling, sent me back to 8th, from a possible 2nd. I know you want a good line on the corner but I was well ahead and carry significantly more speed, and if you didn't see me first time, you certainly know by the second time you rammed me to the side. Could be accident both times, but also shows really bad racecraft for a B tier racer.

What irate me is that the first incident should had got him a penalty, I would be totally happy if I got one if I did it myself, poor awareness of cars around you. Whereas the 2nd, GTS don't give penalties for those anymore. It is irritating when you get shoved off for just racing properly. I understand if you took a corner badly, you are sort off sequence and someone misjudge you and then get shoved, there is partly fault in it even if the accident itself is not your fault. Whereas here, what I was supposed to do, disappear? Not overtake anyone? Just a little exasperated.

But that corner is a death trap, the one with the gravel. You go a bit wide and people use you as a brake on the exit, you brake earlier to hit apex, you are used as the brake at the entry.

Not to bring it up again.. but there are also those who want to perfect the art of Wall Riding in race C...

Seems the trick, from what I saw him do, over and over again, is to have some form of contact, as you approach the corner. Seems to throw off the 1.5 second barrier collision penalty.

Same here in the same stupid B race. No penalties given to others, only me and I didn't do anything.
I was just in a race where at least 5 players were mad at me for no reason. That is the most infuriating. (My connection has nothing to do with it since it has all green bars) It's like they knew each other and decided to bully me. Exactly like it used to happen in Forza Motorsport lobbies most of the time.
I just closed the game after they managed to put me in last place and with a 2 sec penalty.
And of course they got absolutely nothing for their pushing from the sides, taking the inside of the corner and putting me in the grass of the first corner each lap.

Even if I try to stay calm during each race it's impossible. I can't deal with these people. This B race with B/S players is just a nightmare.

This not gonna lie I'm glad I chose this week to focus on Daily Race A the most as I feel like I'll be safe from having to deal with very aggressive/dirty drivers. My experience in Daily Race A so far there are some dirty and aggressive drivers but their inability to adapt to the Clio's handling is being exposed and I sometimes use that to my advantage.

There are some good B, A and A+ drivers who drop by every now and then and they provide me good racing.

I've had more good races than bad. Most of the contact has been more messy than malicious. Though, as I've said before I don't race at peak times. I see the same folks day after day at the top of the grid.
Managed 3 wins last night, even if the first was pretty cheap. The matchmaking gods put me in a lobby where my Q time was 2+ secs faster than anyone else. My fastest race lap was best by 3 sec. The other two wins were hard fought - the first one included going side by side from turn one all the way to the small chicane on the infield. Got the win after 1st and 2nd had enough contact at the hairpin on the last lap to slip by. The last win was a 2 way battle with the same dude from the previous race (who @Stephan probably recognises - a Japanese guy LEXUS-CT-VD-Eng) that I took the lead on turn one lap 3.
My last race of the night I got punted at the hairpin with no apology afterwards, but overall a decent evening.

EDIT: It does indeed help that to go fast in race A, you should not attempt to go fast.

I recognize that dude. He's alright just as long as the battle is kept clean. It's true with the don't go fast type of mentality in order to succeed in Daily Race A as what it matters is the consistency in keeping the Clio stable and without doing some slides although some slides here and there are ok as long as you can keep your pace.

Also another thing that made me learn about in these Daily Race A sessions are on improving my launches even if its not mandatory to hold the brakes until the green lights are on.
