Here's some help for race A (strategy guide).
I'm gonna show you a clip, then give some insight. You'll see me entering the final turn in last place, which was on purpose.

As you can see, I was not only last, but a good 20-30 meters behind the next car. If you are right on someone's back bumper, and pull out to pass them, it's not gonna work unless the move positions you behind another car that's further ahead. You need more space to create a good enough speed advantage.
Also, don't allow your front bumper to touch any other cars in the last turn. I had a couple of side bumps there, which didn't hurt me.
However, if I had bumped the back of any cars, I would have lost enough speed that there would have been no chance for me.

I've done the race six times now, and only seen 1 or 2 other people who understood the strategy. Everybody else just mixes it up and battles for position the whole time.

EPIC!

Nice video. I couldn't help but tilt my head to the right for most of it though.

In race I think lots of cars can work...What about AMG?

That's my go-to car, really works for me damn near everywhere but at seaside I just cannot get the rear end to slip a touch to help rotate the car, TC1 she spins, TC2 she understeers off to the weeds so get killed out of final turn and through uphill corkscrew.

Beetle often works for me here but I nailed a lap reasonably well and it come in at a 18.5 so straight line speed a real issues, especially sector 1 i cannot get close to the Supra split time.

What do you think of this incident:

The other guy was not impressed, somewhat understandably:

In my defence, I’ve never even driven this circuit before this week and how was I to know the barrier cut in at that point?! I almost predicted something was going to happen, and could have let him into the train - but that would have been at the cost of my own race, and why should I? He put himself out there not me.

For me, his fault (and a hilarious one at that). I was true to my line, didn’t push him and there wouldn’t have been a collision if he didn’t put himself in a lane that didn't exist.
I’m still laughing at it though. I will give this race its just deserve, it’s way more fun that I thought initially, although it will get stale pretty quickly.

I did a single entry into Race A, and while I don't plan to do Race A again for this week, I feel really good about my standings: a clean Q3/P2, and I barely nabbed P2 by seven hundredths of a second! I didn't get involved with the bump-drafting, and I was as low as P8 out of nine entrants towards the latter half of the race, but I overtook quite a few racers on that second banked turn right before the start/finish line.

There was no good reason for him to go there. However, if I were you, I would have moved over a bit for two reasons.
1. If he hits the wall, there's a chance he bounces off and into my car, taking me out.
2. There's still about 10 miles to go, and losing a position at that point makes no difference.

Yeah I was just making a principled stance on that second point. I could of easily moved, but why bother - He wants to be out there than crack on, he could have also lifted.. I was howling when the barrier came in though.

Also the handling is waaaaay to stable in GT, especially in this race - as you saw, it barely impacted me.

You certainly weren't obligated to move over for him. It's just better to not have to race with too many people who are mad at you. :)

I’m thinking of taking the Scirocco Gr.4 to Race C, and I’m thinking that I should set the BB to -3, but what do you suggest?

I think you summed it up perfectly to him. His fault end of. It shows how wide the slip angle is that he was able to still get enough to stay alongside you. A brief lift would have brought him right behind you to his benefit.
Would he have been there in real life? If he did that he'd only be talking to you afterwards with the aid of a computer if he was lucky.

They should have been stripped of their win. I mean picking one without the stripe. They should have been driving around with a paper bag on their head rather than a helmet.

Yeah, no stripes means no win. Or something... #StripeGang

m

i think i was exactly the one in red white stripes on ur left with 0.009 behind, what a coincidence.

I honestly don't know how nobody wiped out he entire field with the last turn maneuvering. Absolutely bananas.

Pretty bummed that race C is a fuel saving race as I cannot save fuel to save my life. So I miss a rare chance to use my main in a daily :(

My Q time of 8:45:9xx put me 3rd in an A+/A lobby and all I could do was run the hards and stop for a splash of fuel. Entered the pits with a 5 second lead, and could only manage to get back to 8th at the end, 23 seconds behind the leader. Not a fun way to "race" for me at all at my best chance of doing well for the week. Thanks, PD.

Been trying to find the right car for C and got mine. The Atenza, it's great on fuel and quick enough to be in with a chance, won a couple and get fastest lap most races (true sometimes I'm the only one with a time).
Really don't see why people fight on this track so much? A silly pen or ending up spinning off makes a huge difference yet so many people playing bumpers cars,

So last night I was rollin B race from last. In my second entry a fella ahead was holding me up lap 1 so I laid back a bit to get the run out of COD and BOOM nope you’re dead.
I’m now waaaay behind. I kept on and the final lap I passed a Mexican who apparently got shoved off. He was on my tail through the esses and down the hill, forced me defensive in the braking zone for the right hander. I pulled him on exit, and had the inside for the next right hander...
Ok by the curb on the right he had maaaaaybe a tiny overlap on my left.
Now 99 percent of players in good rooms lift in his position to tuck in behind, but not this guy...
He kept his Supra pinned and tangled my rear a bit causing me to hit the wall on the right, allowing him to pull alongside where he attempted to force me further rightward!
I was forced to turn full into him while braking and barely managed to avoid the COD then we both slammed into the exit wall.
Dude we were dead last. Lol I honestly don’t know what goes through these players minds sometimes.
However, I like the dailies. I enjoy the competition, both dirty and clean.
I think it’s great to have that gaming “Avenue” if you will of mental escape from reality, and also it feels good to have those competitive juices flowing.
I think mentally some people need that.
I know I do, without it this game would have been deleted a looong time ago. I think in reality so often we have to behave at work at school on the roads at stores etc, in game it’s freedom.
In game live by the sword die by the sword I say.
A (((daily race))) at a time

Nice to meet you man. Didn't know you were on the forum.

I'm the guy in front of you. With the UAE flag. My account for the dailies.

On a side note. I know it doesn't come down to skill. But first time I've ever been in a race with basic ollie and actually won the race, also in a race with super GT. The benefits of race A being a lottery and nothing to do with skill.

@GOTMAXPOWER smart play lifting off the throttle in the slip train, to give yourself a gap for the slingshot.

Always good to put a GTPlanet account to a PSN username!
There's still skill in there, just in a very difference sense. It's just generally clouded by a huge smear of luck!
Match making is strange at times, I don't generally like how GT does it for the dailies, although this is the one race where I don't really care. And this type of race isn't usually my kind of thing, but I must admit, it's pretty addictive! It should come with a health warning! haha

I disagree, it's a different kind of skill but not a total lottery.

I need to get the timing right but it's really hard to get a run on cars ahead when they're linked up. The slipstream isn't strong enough.

SSRX is garbage with only 12 of the same car, there aren't enough cars to get multiple competing trains and you don't get the acceleration vs top end car meta wars. Much more exciting with a full grid and cars with different performance.

While @sturk0167 makes a good point about not fighting over a spot with 60% or more of the race left, I wouldn't say that letting him back in is advisable. Personally, I feel like he got a slipstream pull from the car directly behind you. He made the wrong choice to go to the left, over the white line to make a pass. He should have pulled right where he had miles of clear, open race track. His little love taps on your left door was a gentlemanly way of saying, "I've made a mistake. I know I've made a mistake. Would you please let me back onto the track so I don't look like an idiot?"

Also, we have another YouTube sighting. Congrats @PaoloMX.

We all know about your certain skills.

I’ve only been playing for about 3 weeks and tried Race B tonight. Only my second online race. Not super exciting but I’d welcome any constructive criticism. Started 5th. Finished 3rd.

I looks like you have a good base to start from. You seem to have the basic technique down and also the patience of a good driver. The main thing is to keep at it. Use the driving school and mission challenges to learn the game. Also when you are ready use these and time trial to experiment with lowering the driving aids bar ABS. Once you have the technique down these will give you extra time. Good luck and keep at it.

Also, we have another YouTube sighting. Congrats @PaoloMX.

Not to mention @AfraidRacer was in the weekly race guide by @Tidgney on Monday. He had the honour of being overtaken at the Nurburgring.

I've found a of people aren't bothering with the fuel save.

All the races I've done so far, over 60% of the field pit and then set out to run down those that don't.
