Race A. I'm 0.2 off the top time. Any hints on how to close the gap? I think it's more luck than judgement.
Smooth and steady steering through the curves seems to be the way - you can scrub off a fair bit of speed if steering inputs are jerky.

I've lucked into a time 0.07 seconds off the top, only good enough for P41 - first time I've been anywhere near a top 100 time though!

Nice work.
That's why I move to the left as the top of the bank steers for you requiring less input. It'll be a case of trial and error I think.

Ah OK! I’m not familiar with the PSNs of the Japanese players. Apologies to Mr Alien!

Still 8:34, jeepers! No chance of hitting my Kudos target time this week
It's good for a K' Speed Score nudge! But yeah, as far as the race is concerned, pointless! I am glad it's back, though... a fun one. (on the alt...)

There's the solution for K'Score! QT for Race A is a freebie and that will cancel out any damage for race C.

I just had the strangest two races ever. The first was C at 75 sr. Not qualifying started me 11th.
I was 6th by the Nord section. Then the insanity began.
Luckily I was in the Mustang, on mediums, planning a stop.
2-5th place players all blocked, rammed and eventually I got by but wow.
I passed first on the straight, an Argentine serving a 1.5 second.
Coming out of pit I was third. The Argentine in the VW was frantically nudging and bumping me then finally dove in ahead just before the Nord sideswiping his way by.
The final lap was filthy. No penalties seem to be given. I dunno how these players believe they can do it but they will try to block and swerve and sideswipe to the end when they finally crash themselves or get nudged by me.
I received a clean bonus. I never caught the Argentine or Brazilian that went 1-2.
I can’t say I have much desire to race that on low sr. Plus even if you want to cruise it you can’t because half the field doesn’t qualify.
Next up B race at 87 sr.
I am starting eleventh in an all D S room.
There definitely are clean full D S rooms.
They definitely brake in some extremely strange places. I managed to make it through.
Back at 92, going in again in the Ponycar!

I’m pretty amazed at how few penalties are being given out right now.
I’m going to drive large cars. Pretty much, far as I can tell everything is allowed contact wise in turns.
Front to back full punt might get a penalty, haven’t seen that yet. Anything less seems to be allowed, that’s the main reason for posting.

Good luck out there, lots of fun to be had if you don’t mind a little bumpin

Jumped into race A with 3 laps of practice just to get used to the car. I'm having some fun with no major accidents from the races I did so far. I just wish other drivers would draft down the entire length of the straights. Too many people breaking the line causing everyone to shuffle for position and me usually getting hung out to dry completely, causing me do drop to the last place in the drafting line. I can't predict what craziness everyone else will do. I did have a great finish in the last race I did and had to take a picture because how close it was. I'm in the grey 7 just behind the leader. I was .014 seconds behind I believe.

I'm off to Dragon Trail tomorrow to get some races done there, it's one of my better tracks. Might even go off "meta" and run the Vantage.

I shall regale you with a rare victory. I am now reasonably quick and drive clean (mostly) and that puts me in the top split and it just very hard to win and I am OK with that. Last Monday, I sort of "pulled a Leicester"! For those not familiar with English Football see link.

Anyway, a few months ago I had this great idea, why not compete at 12 AM Monday morning when the all the new races start (US West coast)? All the QT times are wiped and everyone starts fresh. That was the theory! Suffice to say, I am not the only one to figure this out. Sometimes it works but usually there are some very fast drivers that show up. In any case at least a I get a free driving lesson from the likes of @Mistah_MCA and other speedies.

Last Sunday was different. A recurring Monday morning speedie showed. That is normal. He is always very cordial and chats a bit. Let's call him K'Score-96! The planets, however, were starting to align for me:
  • The venue was Mount Panorama and this is my fourth or so time there.
  • The META was the VW and it is my current best car for success.
  • Group 4. Check.
  • Crucially, he did *NOT* pick the VW but chose the Jag F-Type.
  • Finally, I pipped him on the QT time - and he graciously noted it in pre-chat.
The race: I started Q1, him Q2. He bided his time, stayed in the slip, waiting for Conrod to make his pass. On Conrod I chose left and he took right. We were alongside at the chase or he was a nose ahead. We braked at about the same time. I was giving room and he was giving room. But, he put two or four tires on the grass at the end of the Chase. That gave me a lead of 1.5 s. By that time though, I was freaking. Oh no, did I push him off? I am going be on IOTW now! Crap! Then, while fretting, I blow L2/T1 and he claws back time to 1.0s behind. In the end, that was too much as he was out of the slip and too far back for conrod. He did catch me by the final turn but it was not enough to get alongside or past. I got a victory.

Immediately afterwards I checked the replay. There was no contact and I did not encroach on the right side exit curb. Had he made the corner we would have probably touched doors. It was clean.

I've found a groove at N24. 9 races there so far 2 x P2, 1x P3 and 3 x P4 (the other 3 are best forgotten). Have run the Viper, Vantage, Slophy and TT no-stopping. The Viper has been the quickest but the Scirocco seems to be the weapon of choice for most.

In the Viper I run FM3 and shift at the gear indicator for the entire race until the second time through Pflanzgarten when I can move to FM2 before finally moving to FM1 for Dottinger Hohe. This lets me hold off the stoppers who have been making up ground.

If I've managed to get some slipstream through lap 1 I can use FM1 from Pflanzgarten.

It's a very enjoyable race so far. There isn't very much dirty driving because generally I let the stoppers by whenever there's a sensible opportunity and the idiots can't control their cars well enough to stay on track AND punt. I'm sure they'll work it out later in the week.

Exhausted, frustrated and annoyed. Capable of more but just couldn’t quite string perfect sectors together. Two hours and seven minutes. 76 laps. I think it’s probably the longest quali session I’ve had, ever.

WOW! And I thought my 70km in the Supra trying to get a lap time under 1:38 was a substantial effort!! You sir are an inspiration!

I tried the 911 RSR, the RCF, and then the Supra, and struggled with the COD in all three cars. It's really frustrating because after the last Gr.4 race there I had absolutely nailed the run through there in the GTR, and then jumped into the Gr.2 cars and again could absolutely nail the COD in the NSX and GTR! But now jumping back into the Gr.3 cars, I'm either lifting, clipping the inside and stopping dead, or clipping the wall on the exit. I just can't seem to get it nailed in any of these three cars I've tried so far. I know if I nail the COD I can get a time well under 1:38, maybe a mid 1:37.

23 hours after winning Daily Race A at Special Stage Route X for the first time. I had won this race again, this time by .006 seconds. As a result of this, it was the closest finish I ever had in any race in Sport Mode.

This should have been Race A.

Continuing forom Yesterday, my first race this afternoon, same result.

Only thing isA 650S that pitted up the front, tapped me toward the end of the final lap. i thought I overshot the corner. Didn't even sense I'd been hit.
The 650S then, knocks off a C7, at the final chicane, in the braking zone. That C7 was so disgusted, I passed him at pit entry, as he just ghosted to the finish.
I got an I'm sorry from the 650S just as I was exiting. I thought the car went weird and that's who did it. Oh well, good battle after I let cars behind pass me and saw them either go off or pit.

They should have been stripped of their win. I mean picking one without the stripe. They should have been driving around with a paper bag on their head rather than a helmet.

i think i was exactly the one in red white stripes on ur left with 0.009 behind, what a coincidence.

This was my first time doing a Daily Race around Route X so going to this I had no idea what to expect until I started seeing some players do bump drafting and that is where I learned now what to do.

So the race itself was close as expected but before crossing the line, a player in the red Ford GT managed to overtake me for first place because I wasn't able to guard the position so I thought I was done for until I happen to see another player running in third in a Speed Yellow Ford GT and he was gaining on me and that is where I used that to my advantage as my last ditch attempt at winning by doing a bump draft to gain speed and it was enough to win the race by a very small margin.

Overall, the race is nice and after nabbing two wins, this is where I decided to call it a week and just have fun with the dailies without pushing hard for a win. Kinda fitting to slap on Let's Go Away in this video.

Also I would like to apologize to @Barra333 for a bump draft I attempted where I got too desperate in one of the Daily Race A sessions where I was queued with.

No problem. That whole race was a mess. Nobody understood the concept of a drafting line. It was 3 or 4 wide the whole race - I don't understand how the whole field made it to turn 4 before someone crashed.

I was lost when that happened and was trying to think of which lane is the much more optimal one in order to gain an advantage and eventually get bump drafted in order to gain speed.

But oh well it happens to most of us sometimes.

I always enjoy seaside but just do not have the pace of fellow A drivers. Sitting on a 38.1 with optimal of 37.6 but even that is pretty average.

Nothing gets close to the supra, tried everything but nope.
I'm on the same boat. Using the Corvette I'm down to a 38.2. Could probably get it down to a 37.8 if I spent enough time practicing, but everyone seems to be using the Supra as of late. I too don't seem to have the pace, in fact most of the positions I've gained were from battles that took place ahead of me, cars wiping out at the chicane, or penalties being served.

In race I think lots of cars can work...What about AMG?

but everyone seems to be using the Supra as of late

I used the Mustang last night from non qual.
16-9 in one race against A S.
The number 2-5 guys from the leaderboard were up front...
Lots of players were having trouble controlling the Supra. The Mustang is a very solid choice except it likes to understeer entering COD.
I think people will tend to fight a lot, here.
People might be surprised that some cars are much more effective in race than in q.

Nice!

I have run two races.
In the first I did not understand that no-stopping was an option until racers skipped the pit entry. :banghead:

In the second I prepared for a no stopper and decided to run from the back. It was incredibly slow. And bangy. Ok, I just need to adjust and be patient, right? Then 3 minutes in I realize that I am running medium tires. :banghead::banghead: Of course, no stopping was no longer an option. Change of strategy... push after burners to max!

So far, shot myself in the foot... twice.

Here's some help for race A (strategy guide).
I'm gonna show you a clip, then give some insight. You'll see me entering the final turn in last place, which was on purpose.

As you can see, I was not only last, but a good 20-30 meters behind the next car. If you are right on someone's back bumper, and pull out to pass them, it's not gonna work, unless the move positions you behind another car that's further ahead. You need more space to create a good enough speed advantage.
Also, don't allow your front bumper to touch any other cars in the last turn. I had a couple of side bumps there, which didn't hurt me.
However, if I had bumped the back of any cars, I would have lost enough speed that there would have been no chance for me.

I've done the race six times now, and only seen 1 or 2 other people who understood the strategy. Everybody else just mixes it up and battles for position the whole time.
