Back in the day, say 20 to 30 years ago, the spectator area from the cutting through to the dipper, man, I swear they eat their young up there. It was utter bedlam at night, sheer carnage.

To give you some idea of the madness, they had to bring in a rule that limits beer to one case (24 cans) per person per day.

And the guy on the tractor... appears to be sitting on a keg! Oh, too much fun.

Don’t beat yourself up! We play for fun!

FWIW the the biggest impact on lap time is the cutting, get it wrong (slow not crashing) and it's a SOLID second slower than getting it just right.
I think the Cutting is my Achilles heel at Bathurst. Either I get it slowed it down & lose time or I go in super hot & can't slow down fast enough to not stripe the outside wall.
I truly believe that simply driving away and whipping him on track is the beat revenge, but if nothing else I plan to ruin his races next chance I get. Just got to find a way to do it while not killing myself
Since you've learned what his technique, there are few methods of revenge than feeding them a taste of their own medicine. ;)
Launch control should be very different for each car. I believe in GTS TCS is more of a counter action to button smashing. Probably why default is 3. And why would you need anything over 3?
Full powered, lowest weight Dodge Charger Hellcat. Try it. :sly:

Hers my two cents and take it for what’s that worth. I don’t believe anyone’s has argued that 0 tcs is fastest setting for some/most people including myself. I’m blown away with times @Groundfish @sturk0167 @KosmoKazi among others. For myself it’s not about being the fastest but the satisfaction I personally get without using Tcs (a computer add that cover ups mistakes made) is my reasoning and very well could be why I’ve never been more than a mid B level driver. @Groundfish i must point out the fact your are calling the kettle black by referring to people as idiots, silly or egotistical not using your preferred method is the exact same as those who have argued the opposite. For myself I guess it comes to a skill thing. Same reason I always try to beat other type of games on the hardest setting. Like you said we should all play a game the way we find enjoyable.
( I do use Tcs on grid starts or when I have dirty tires from going off track *not using Tcs. Or very worn tires at the end of a race if I have a chance of places well I will turn it on.

👍🏻

(Just to clarify: I only launch the car at TCS 1 and I (almost) always race at 0, in all classes… just find it best for me in terms of speed)

For those who can do a standing start without TCS, you have some awesome patience to learn how not to spin the tires. For everyone else, I direct you to this clip. Also, at 3:36, you see what happens using TCS while on pole position. Just drive away & let everybody else fight for 2nd.

That’s what it’s all about.
My apologies if my posts came across that way.
I do have TCS PTSD TBH after several major thread blowups before.
It’s a definite issue for me anytime I see those 3 letters in close proximity. T c s
Seeing people post about it gives me bad flashbacks lol.
Like you get satisfaction from driving pure and unaided I have the same feeling towards my technique as well.
Just to be clear my ranting was intended towards people ragging on tcs users-not towards anyone NOT using tcs.
I can picture myself one day when I’m old locked up with all the other nuts in a secure padded environment being asked by the psychiatrist “Is TCS in the room with us now?”
Then trying to explain GTS physics to him to make him understand and being told to calm down which only makes my explanations more explicit and getting tackled by several orderlies and anesthetized before the shock treatments begin…
Sturk knows what I mean :)

So I mentioned how I love the Minis. Went back out after I knew the troll was busy making a fool of himself in the FIA lobbies. Spammed the mess out of 6 races, came away with 3 wins and 3 p2s. Glad I did. Out of the 3 days of zeroing in on that race I ended up with a freakish career high DR of 51.7k. I'm not silly enough to believe I'm anywhere near the pace of holding on to A+, but know I can ride a favorable combo to bounce there if I want.

Then spent this morning trying to learn the old mini in the NA races. Apparently coming from the back there means passing is not allowed. I was run off several times and called all sorts of names as I did horrible things like taking it 2 wide through graham hill and leaving the other person plenty of space or passing around the outside on the final turn. I can see where the old mini has speed, but I'll really need some time to figure it out.

C'mon @D_Dragline start grinding on the mountain, if I can sneak a day at A+ you can too!

I believe I am about done with GTS. The wild west, anything goes play I have dealt with this week has taken all the enjoyment out of this for me. For instance, I was doing well on the Mountain yesterday morning, running a solid 4th in my lobby (B/S, honest S, not no-pen S) when I got annihilated at the chicane at the end of the downhill straight. I couldn't manage to missile my way back toward the track and went from 4th to last. I stuck it out to the end of the race, gaining one position back, but There is just no fun in it any more. I hate that it's turned into an arcade demolition drive. I'm utterly discouraged and have serious doubts about GT7 now. Good luck, all.

Ah you won’t get tackled because will be much faster than them😜
When I first found Gtplanet I was one of those to talk smack to you with no real basis. My bad. That’s when @Pigems said we should have a 1v1 couple of races which I happily excepted with actually knowing what I was getting myself into. videos on YouTube I believe. I learned some valuable lessons from you both.

Well that's a new one, first lap had a guy behind so keep the inside and get punted. Afterwards the guy says "blocking isn't racing". How can people play a game like this and not understand the basics of racing? Or is this a generational thing where they just expect it to go their way or something is wrong?
Had a great one at Bathurst - guy in front went off track, and I passed him. He then spent the rest of the lap trying to knock me off. I was due to pit, he followed me in, ran straight into the back of me for one final attempt at ramming me off - he went spinning past me, missed the pit entry, and got reset on the start/finish straight!

He decided to quit at that point....

Anyone else playing Russian roulette with the pit entry at bathurst? I'm really attacking it and making up a lot of time on the man in front but it'll go pear shaped at some point.
One race I followed a guy in and avoiding him gave me a pen so I've been really safe since then. I'd say I'm still on the fast side (for my level) but could easily be faster.

I keep forgetting that was you. Now we worry about you when you get lost at the Porsche dealer.

I have come up with an idea for the Daily Races. If anyone from PD is monitoring this forum and I believe they do since this is the prime place to get anything of Gran Turismo, please think of the following idea. ( and please all of the regulars here tell me honestly if it is a good idea and if possible)

Have the three Daily Races A, B, & C, all at the same track but with different car ratings and conditions, for example all three races will be at the Nurb GP, race A will be 5 laps with N300 cars, race B will be 5 laps Gr. 4 cars, and for race C will be 12 laps with fuel and tires on Gr. 3 cars.

Does this sound ok?

You must really like Japanese circuits. ;)

Next Week's Races
A: N200 | Dragon Trail Gardens | 4 laps | SM
B: Gr.3 | St. Croix B | 3 laps | RM
C: Gr.4 | Suzuka | 9 laps | RM | x2 fuel, x8 tyres
Looks good actually. N200 will prob be the MX-5 Touring.

I'd get bored tbh. You need the variety.

Did a Race B last night. Went better than I expected. Gained a spot. Fun race.

This morning did Race C. Started 4th. Got bumped off then when I came back in, I bumped another car off, so I waited. Wouldn't have been as bad if I started on RM. Maybe should have pushed the softs for 1 more. Finished 11th.

May go back. I'm really enjoying the Vette.
