Daily, weekly and monthly rivals

I also started looking at a Caterham. Used my 494 PIR 911. Bit of a handfull in the rain. Might try again tonight with the 959.

I get many blue screen crashes on PC3 (despite moving from disk to digital and clearing off ghost files every time) and maybe 75% to 90% are during breakout events. And again today... Typically the restart of the game after a crash is very, very, very long which adds to the frustration.

So no more breakout events for me. :-(

I have the same experience

Let's hope that PS4 issues will be addressed in the new patch as it looks like that you guys started to have problems just recently. I haven't seen any reports of similar few months ago. Thankfully (fingers crossed) the game is still playable on Xbox and feels improved with every new patch.

I only got the game late December and have had crashing problems from the start. Yes, let's hope they spend some time sorting out basic issues such as this.

It is strange with these crashes. I have a PS4 Pro and while I do get the occasional crash* I can't remember one related to Breakout. Maybe the memory management inside the Pro is different enough to help.

All the versions of the consoles are supposed to be the same but the various models do have slightly different components. For instance I have the 2nd model of 3 variations of the Pro. I'm not sure how many type of "normal" console there is. It could make a fix that would seem easy to replicate and fix more difficult.

*I crash regularly if driving too fast!

Today is a Hot Lap at Nurburgring Sprint with the Pagani Zonda Revolucion. Fast car, but a fair bit of understeer; wish I could stiffen the rear just a little bit to tame that, but it's not unmanageable.

That was a fun Rivals daily. And the weekly this go round is great as well.

I have had the game on Xbox One X since day of release and the game has crashed on me maybe 3 times.

Just as an FYI I have a base PS4 and never had the game crash on me, but then again it's only getting 1hour a week from me

The Chiron at Dubai was actually a lot of fun, not my normal cup of tea tbh (trying to push a bloated, hypersonic road car)... but finding the edge of performance was very rewarding. The exotic road cars in pC3 are just so much fun to test your limits in.

I love the way that pC3 does the road cars, I've never enjoyed driving them before in any sim.

Yeah, the driving physics for the road cars are quite enjoyable, and I also love how Rivals pushes you to try cars and tracks you might not have bothered with when just messing around on your own.

Today is another road car, but slightly tamer; a Hot Lap with a GR Supra at Mojave Cougar Ridge, at night in the rain. A lot of the track is full throttle or close to it in this car, if you can get the turn-in points right and control the slides, but get it a little wrong and you're in for a wild ride.

Yes indeed. And also in track conditions and weather permutations that you might not necessarily usually go for.

my daily ended with a crash to desktop when I entered the finish. It happens too often. I hope this gets addressed in a patch.

Is gold 3 a good category to be in?

Gold 3 is the top Gold category, so that's a solid performance; the only better group is Platinum. Keep in mind that the category only really "counts" when the event ends, though; if you're one of the first few to try it, you might start out in Gold 3 or even Plat because you were one of the fastest of the first five or six players who completed the event so far...by the end of the day you could end up much further down the list in a much lower category if a lot of the later runs beat yours. (Similarly, though, if you get a really solid time early but the other early birds beat you, you could end up in a really low category at first, then move up as a bunch of other players have slower runs...)

What's everyone's thoughts on the monthly with the lotus?
It annoyed me how much wetter it got on lap2 compared to the first one

I haven't completed the 3rd lap yet! I'll try it again sometime - at a slightly slower pace!

I haven't spent so much time on Rival-ing over the last few days, I must get back to it.

I've only had a few attempts but it was a struggle. As you said, the water builds up super quickly so it becomes a puddle avoidance exercise. With SC on to increase control, getting out of the hairpin is not easy. Not my favourite one.
