Yes it should be quite nippy, I have like you just ordered some new carpet also a set of 16" alloys to replace the knackered set that is currently on it. I also plan on upgrading the rear brakes to disc brakes.

Hmm, seems I've missed this thread. Anything oddball, quirky or unique like that catches my eye and I have to say that I quite like it if only because it is different. It reminds me of a more-masculine Fiat Barchetta. Good catch, hang onto that car and take care if it. :)

Quantum only recommend 15" maximum. I have 16" on mine and we had to make little spacers at the ends of the steering brackets to stop it from reaching full lock, if not the wheels hit the wheel arch!

Turning circle is nothing to boast about now, but at least it looks nice. ;)

Also, I see you are from Norfolk too!

Yeah, thats how I like to think about it. Then again, doesn't take much to be more masculine than a Barchetta. ;)

Have you actually driven it yet then? Or are you waiting until you've passed?

Still, it's better than my car... :(

Can't wait for it.

I feel ready for the test, I think I could pass now. Stupid waiting queues. ;)

Still, a month goes awfully fast.

Waiting is a bitch.. I had to wait two months for my test and I lived in a real small town. ^^ Some cities you have to wait much more! But time moves fast especially this time of the year so you'll soon have that licence. :)

It's easier than you think, once you've done the first 5 minutes and got comfortable it really isn't that hard. The main thing to do is just make sure you're alert and checking mirrors almost all the time. 👍

Oh, and keep a close eye on your speed. ;)

Then when you pass you can drive how you want to drive, which is great. :D

So does your insurance mean that once you pass your test they won't increase the price of it? Cos most do, I got insuraced on a Skoda VRS when I was a learner, only an extra £100 per year, minute I pass they refused me on it or went sky high into thousands.

Plus your doing all these modifications, you going to tell them? Not sure, but I checked and changing some of my car and the insurance companys said they would increase it or make me pay extra if I didn't tell them about it and had a crash, and if I crashed they said they would refuse to cover the damage cost because I would of lied to them (which is stupid for just some new alloys - but oh well)

I haven't insured the car yet, the £500 was a quote for when I've passed my test. (My two friends have insured theirs for that.)

It gets cheaper as you get older, once I am 25 I will be paying £200 for it (If I still have it.)

And as for the whole modification thing, you cannot define a modification on a kit car. No such thing as standard. :)

Just cleaned her up. Here are some pictures for a couple more mods I have done. New wheel and running lights... :D

You should get at better camera ;) But your updates so far seems pretty sensible and looks nice of course ^^

Yeah I am using my phone. Would love to get a proper camera to take some snaps of her.

She looks so good topless. ;)

Mk3 Fiesta and the older Ka are more or less the same car if I am not mistaken...

Or Mk4 Fiesta. One of them.

Yup, well if they're of a similar era there'll be crossover of some of the parts anyhow. 👍

Would love to do a couple of cosmetic mods as well but insurance/parents won't let me. :(

Well no, it uses Fiesta running gear, fiesta engine and interior. The chassis, subframe and body is all bespoke to this car.

So no two of them handle the same? Thats a bit unnerving! You could have a very good handling car, or a dog of a car depending on the build
