Daytona 24 Minute Race: Daytona Road Course

I was already harassed with that stupid gif image he sent. Then again with all the hardcore players here complaining about the forced SRF rule is already equally harassment towards the casuals players!
That doesn't give you the right to fire back, since all that does is perpetuate it. I trust @Master Weasel has read the AUP too, since he's got several times more posts than you. If not, then he should as well.

Like I said, I'm not a mod, just a regular user with modding experience trying to step in and defuse the situation before the mods sweep through with a nice truckload of warnings.

I suck. Last place. I managed to get 7th position twice, but dropped to 16th once I pitted.

Gonna beat this thing eventually, but not tonight.

Here's a strategy for ya. It worked for me and I ended up winning by 16s.

  • Car: Mazda 787B (standard or Stealth; standard is a bit better on tire wear because it's less powerful)
  • Tires: RH
  • Pit cycle: 6 laps (2-stop strategy)
As long as you can run consistent 1:32s-33s you should be good. The leading Pescarolo is very quick at the start of the run, but its times start to fall a bit after about lap 3-4. Just stay smooth, don't get excited, and pit at the same time as the Pesci and you've got it. :) And don't worry about the rain that arrives shortly after halfway - it barely even affects the car at all, and then it's gone.

Whatever okay? Might as well add a disclaimer to this forum: ALL CASUAL RACERS WILL BE BANNED!!!!

Don't take it personally, but the way you're acting, you've probably got the attention of the mods. Might be a good idea to go simmer down somewhere and forget all this. I suggest Sierra. :D Sierra + a classic car = awesome.

Edit: And of course casual racers are welcome here. As long as you're a GT fan, it doesn't matter. :P

Please tell me how that gif was offensive in any way.

Also, if you want people to take your posts seriously, try to avoid typing in a large font.

I wouldn't get him started again. He's trying to simmer down right now, so it'd probably be best to just leave him alone and focus on the topic.

Thanks, I'll try that too. I was managing 1:35s there when nothing went wrong. Might be able to drop to those numbers once I get better.

Nobody is against casual racers, and nobody is trying to interfere with your ability to use assists.

HOWEVER, the gripes about SRF being FORCED on are valid. Making it optional instead of mandatory would NOT put you at any sort of disadvantage, yet it would allow the rest of us to enjoy the game more. What's wrong with that?

Furthermore, your claims of harassment toward yourself and all casual racers are absurd. Stop whining and acting out for attention, and nobody would have any reason to respond to your tantrums.

Don't forget that PD is challenging us with SRF on (which we all don't like anyways) to see how we win this event but it's was easy to start and finished

Used my Nissan R92 and won with ease. Was surprised by how far I could go with the tires since SRF was on. At first I was pitting when my tires showed 5/4 but realized I could go as far as 3/2 with no problems.

The line the AI take on the bus stop chicane is hilarious.

Yea that was the only part I laugh every time I watch them spin at the end of the chicane

I'm was like "well your out of the royal rumble race"

I haven't run this one yet. I really only have one question. What is the rain sequence, meaning how wet does it get as I see many using RS and RH tires.

Edit: Input from people who have run this several times would be greatly appreciated.

I watched a replay and saw that the CPU can use Racing Soft and they'll never go to zero. They may have a little trouble driving sometimes, but they can handle better than a human(or at least me). I guess PD did that to give them an edge.

I ran RS and at my second stop around 10:00 on the timer it rained for all of 5 seconds when I was leaving the pits.

It will only rained for 5 seconds randomly, it happen to me on my first try with the Bentley Speed 8

Plus if you want a car suggestion also, the Mazda 787B is one of the best option to win first place and pit advantages

The 330 only needs one pit stop, RM's followed by RH's.

I've run this three times now and in my last race, the AI that finished in second place, a Courage C60, ran a two stop race with RS, RS, and RS.

He also ran the right-rear tyres down to 1 and then some on the final two stints.

I can't help but wonder how this would work out for a human driver.
