It's Sony/PD...not you guys individually otherwise we'd be able to get back in..

[282] and sometimes [268] here. Looks troubling.

Same problems when I tried to get into another lounge. Looks like the problem is on Sony's end.

Conspiracy: PD got upset about us stumbling over that Corvette, now they are stopping all GTP rooms from taking place... :D

My Lounge won't open either...apparently Sony lost it.."Room Not Found"...

Looks like we've been kicked in the DeadNuts on our first night!! I'll hang around a bit longer and if I can get in I'll post and anyone still around can join me...I'll call it a night officially around 9:tdown:

Sag is in there but it won't let me in "due to heavy network traffic"...

4 of them in there now..trying to get in myself but struggling..c'mon ferrari!!

I'm sure glad the connection problems cleared up, we had some great closing races.

Wow, great evening of online racing again, I had a difficult time at the beginning racing from a very awkward set up in a Hotel room,:ill: not with my usual gear,:ouch: The first few races I was very inconsistent and made mistakes,:dunce: but never the less the last race was worth all the effort, finished third, felt like World Champion.
Thursday I am back on my regular rig, it means the Prowler will be twice as wide, you have been warned.:D

We had a good attendance tonight, we are reversing the trend, long live the Dead Nuts Even racers.

Great racing tonight! I think every race but one was a toss up entering the last corner/last lap... I really hope the great racing and rise in attendance continues!!! 👍

We didn't start off well when we all got kicked one by one from the lobby partway through the first main:grumpy:, but wow, what a spectacular night of racing it turned out to be. In typical DeadNuts/Parity League fashion, 4 races and 4 different winners. It was so close that the combined gap from 1st to 4th for all 4 races was less than 8 seconds in 40 laps!! Great job fellas.👍

is what tonight's race reminded me of. It even had an NSX and MR2 in it. Sorry its in japanese though. It was on Tsukuba, 7 laps, close racing, etc.

That is eerily similar isn't it? The NSX looks just like you Ferrari, tail end hanging out and all...lol. And all but the Ferrari and Venturi were within 1 second of our time of 1:07...obviously on lesser tires...lol.

I want to thank Ferrari for doing up the banner in the OP. We're going to come up with a better picture in the near future, but I like the subtle nature of it. Thanks Ferrari:tup:👍

I'll post the targets for next week, tomorrow. I think we'll open things up a bit and grab a bit stickier rubber too.

All cleared up now, disregard this post. Thanks Johnny.

...Wait, when did Izzy make a banner? I thought that was what I did? I'm confused now.

:ouch::scared: Sorry man, I've been typing and editing posts all night, you just got caught up in the crossfire...

Great to see 6 cars out on the track again. Bummed I couldn't make it this week or next. A 7 car field would be lots of fun. Hoping some of the new comers enjoyed their racing and will be attending again.

Next Event:

Ferrari vs. Lamborghini vs. Pagani at Monza (with chicane)
2:00 Sport Medium Tires

Monday November 26, 2012 at 8pm EST

Race open to any car in the game from one of the three manufacturers. The time was set in a very lightly tuned Ferrari 599 at 520PP. I was able to run the time in a fully tuned Zonda C12 at under 510PP

Heat 1: 4 laps, fastest first
Heat 2: 4 laps, reverse grid
Race 1, 2 and 3: 7 laps, reverse grid.

I don't care that it's insane to control, I would drive the F40 all day every day. I drive it regularly on SH's though, so I should be pretty decent with it. I'm really excited for this!

F40 is also one of my favorite car in the game, that is the beauty of this league you get to drive the car you love without having to restrain yourself by fear of not being competitive. 👍
I will most likely drive a Pagani for that event, a shiny one.:sly:

I'm just going to hope it isn't too wide. :sly:
EDIT: Should I start gifting you some shiny paint chips? You're going to run out at this rate.

Don't think I've raced on such a large, straightish track yet with this group so I'm gonna bring it up...

Draft is going to a huge factor in this event, with the potential to drop times by a few seconds. If we go about things in the usual fashion, this creates the potential for us to be dropping quite a lot of PP in the two heat races prior to the features to stay at the target.

I think we need to establish how we're going to handle things when times are consistently dipping below the target before the event, so there isn't any confusion or conflict on race night... Are we gonna just let it go or are we gonna try to detune to meet the target with the draft?

Any ideas or suggestions?

One suggestion, I have is to set a pace with a buffer, instead of aiming at getting within on tenth of second of the target, that might take care of the draft effect.

Any ideas or suggestions?

It is a legitimate concern.
You can only gain so much drifting, if the car you are drifting from is on the pace.
If you pass the car you have draft from, then the role are reversed, it should be OK at the end, with some passing in the staights as long as we all start with similar pace car.
Actually it should more balance than ever, because you can only gain so much in the curves on that track, it is more a car track, than a racer track. Maybe we should share top speed, to keep it levelled.
We are usualy pretty good with each other, let us see what happen, as long as we prepare with the seriousness we always do, we should be fine.

Yes Izzi, this is it.👍

Good point but it's the same standard as before. Laps that go under with a significant draft don't "count" as under. Only laps without significant draft that go under require some PP adjustment. Of course if you get one little draft and run a 1:56 you'll have to make some adjustments...lol..but we'll see what happens. It's tough to find ways to improve at Monza it's such a simple track so I can't see anyone missing the target by much.

so we have to use either a Ferrari, Lambo or Pagani? n the set time is 2 min right

Correct, any GT5 car in the game of those three makes, 2:00 SM's.

Part of the trade off here is handling vs horsepower. If you jump into a Lambo and put some downforce on it, and with 4wd, you'll be down on HP because you'll be cornering faster and accelerating cleaner out of the chicanes. On the other hand, you'll be more consistent and if you can catch the draft of a heavier car with no downforce and more HP you'll gain huge.

The difference in the lightly tuned Ferrari and the fully tuned Zonda I used to set the target time: 500HP vs. 381HP:crazy: I almost always go for handling so I"ll probably be way down on power. :ouch:

I am thinking on using the Pagani, could you let me know what the tune is, maybe once in my Dead Nuts career, I could be the same pace as you with less PP, and this time it would not be a typo.:sly:

Check the number of my post.:mischievous:

666:crazy: I'll try and fire it off tomorrow. It's the tune I used for 550PP racing on SS tires, with a couple of parts removed and some engine limiter. The difference in grip between it and the stock suspension Ferrari is like night and day!! The C12 is such a sleeper car at 550PP. Almost no one uses it because they can't figure out the transmission. Without engine limiter it has a big hump in the power curve and drops off dramatically in the upper revs so you have to shift early. The difference of shifting early or at the redline as you do in most cars, can be 1-2 seconds per lap in this car. 💡

Again, I won't be able to make Monday (should be the last time for a while). I have always enjoyed racing at Monza, but would share very similar concerns with NC. I must disagree that it is a car track more than a driver track. There are still about 10 turns, some of which can be taken quite quickly. With the range in driver ability, I think you will see there is going to be quite a difference between some drivers and the PP level. In terms of the draft, the top 2 cars could both be well under the target time and still be "legal". If the top 2 (or any 2 in the pack for that matter), work together and push each other down the straights to break away from the pack, lap times are going to drop significantly.
