Is there any clear definition of the classes in Gran Turismo 2 Arcade Mode? I would love to tune my own Arcade Mode cars. But it's hard to find the right level for specified classes.

I *think* its PWR related, with more emphasis on power than on weight (with exceptions). I once had a save where I essentially just messed around with cars seeing how far I could push them into each class, so that's what I'm basing my observations on.

I myself think the same thing Toronado thinks. But if that's not the case (in terms of HP) I think it might be based on how much the car handles. What I mean by this is that C class cars would probably be mostly FF vehicles along with a few FR's. B class would probably be stronger FF & FR cars. A class is probably all around with FR, FF, 4WD, and MR cars. And I guess the R class belongs only to the cars that can reach HP's of 900+ when fully tuned. But this is just mere speculation.

The class system in GT2 is one of those things that never gets a clear answer as to how it's arranged. The further you get into it, the more questions get raised. We had a bit of discussion about it in the past. I seem to remember Pupik providing one of the better answers (wherever he is). I'd have to dig up the thread in question, tho, which probably won't be easy to find. It might be close to what Toronado said above.
