Wooo, my TrackBoss finally arrived after being in customs processing for almost a month :) but it looks absolutely beautiful!

Thanks, just eager to know if these BB's will work on console after patch 2.0 ...
The DSD ones seem to be standard HID class devices, so if the console supports mapping generic controllers it could work.

Pardon the weird rig, but I've been enjoying my DSD P1 box the past few weeks. Excellent quality.

(and I got the pedal covers sorted properly...also awesome). I'll be going back to DSD for any sim needs in the future.

Look forward to your results :)
Could take a while... Waiting for:
- patch 2.0
- someone to confirm BB's work on PS4
- choosing the right BB and ordering
- arriving (read about being hold by customs for a long while)
- fabricating a holder
- assigning the controls to the beste suiting switches
- ...

After all this I will post results :P

They are seen as controllers, not a keyboard. It's a standard driverless controller tho.
If consoles only support keyboard-style button boxes it should be possible to build a converter board. I think there is even some programmable USB thingy out there, so it's just a matter of time til somebody makes that piece of software.

So, in short for noobs like me: they will not work, right ?
I mean, all over forums people are tiptoeing around the answer, and no one is decisive...

Derek was decisive, he said for PC. These button boxes have always been PC only.

I think we all understand that mate, but with the Pcars patch and usb keyboard support it opened up some possibilities for PS4 racers. My question regarding how the DSD boxes are seen by a pc has been answered and I am happy.

Since Project Cars announced its 2.0 patch, allowing USB (and probably BT) keyboards for key mapping in the game, would a DSD button box also (finally) work with consoles (PS4 in my case) ?
I really hope so, but for now nobody seems to be 100% sure as far as I could find.

Somebody ?
Derek ?

This question is answered at Q6 on the DSD Questions Page:

Derek was decisive, he said for PC. These button boxes have always been PC only.

As I see it, a simple yes or no would have been decisive. Where did he say PC ?

Apologies, I could have sworn I saw a post on here somewhere stating that these were for PC only but I've searched and can't find one.

Anyway, as consoles are fairly well locked to anything except for keyboards and officially branded peripherals (except in Project Cars' case) then no, these aren't supported.

No need for apologies here.:)

But as you say: "except in Project Cars' case", I was still hoping for BB support.
I can use my BT keyboard now, which is a step in the right direction, but still not ideal. Finding a designated key on a keyboard while driving is not easy.
Rotary switches are a must for some functions too, so I guess I'll be switching to PC soon (would give me the opportunity to use triple screen setup too...)

So there is no matter to be left unclear: All DSD components such as button controllers, shifters, pedals and electronics are for a Windows based PC, require a USB connection and need no external drivers to use. One day we will develop hardware for consoles. The DSD Questions page will be updated soon so some do not find it ambiguous.

Oh, and we have something new coming in the months ahead that many of you may like ;)

Thank you and happy racing!
