A question about available functions with consoles: Is one allowed to hookup a USB keyboard to a PS4 and bind/map whatever keypress you wish to whatever function you wish? Looking for guidance and thank you in advance!

Yes, that works. All available controls can be mapped to a USB keyboard.
A USB based button box would work fine, but I guess rotary switches are out of the question.

Thank you. Can you tell me if this is the case with with both Gran Turismo and PCars (If you have the info).

As I've done previously with the Pro Sequential Shifter, I just wanted to write a quick post here regarding my latest DSD purchase.

I only just discovered the Tilton style pedal pads on the DSD website and I loved the look of them as I've always thought the factory pads on the Clubsports look nothing like race car pedals and also when wearing shoes my foot would sometimes get jammed in between the throttle and the back of the brake pedal (I had it mounted closer to the throttle for easier heel toeing plus had made a shorter spacer for the throttle pedal pad to move it further back from the brake pedal so they would line up under braking).

So the new pads arrived in the mail today (nice quick international postage). The package comes with 3 pads and new bolts, washers and nuts for fitment.

The pads are simple to install with the right tools. I decided not to fit one on the throttle.

To get the pedals closer together for heel toeing I drilled the pedal base of the throttle to move the pedal face towards the brake. Because the new pads are a lot thicker than the factory ones, when using the factory throttle pad it is already placed further back from the brake pedal so I was able to refit the factory spacer on the throttle.

Moving the throttle isn't necessary, and some people will want to run the third pad on the throttle as pedal position is all personal preference. This is just what works for me.

I'm really happy with these new pads, they look really good, much more like a real race pedal set and they are strong. Like all of DSD's gear they are very well made, top quality with nice DSD logos on them.

There are more pedal pads available for pedals other than the Clubsports so go to the website and check them out.

Derek, have you ever considered building an H Pattern shifter? My old one on the G25 really put me off cheap ones, the feeling was terrible. It needs to be solid, have a secure locked in feeling in each gear, be smooth etc. Being a user of your sequential I think you would do one justice..

There are no plans to offer an H shifter. It's not something we'd likely ever do. The Thomas H shifter is probably the best you'll find.

Bulletproof.

Do you know of any recent reviews of it? I can only find a couple from 2011 and nothing comparing it to the TH8 or Fanatec. From the couple videos I seen it appears to be about par with those shifters. One was comparing it to the SST Lightning, but that's inferior to even the G27 shifter in my opinion after using it. I only drive cars with H shifter and I am using the TH8 currently and while good I would love something better. Thanks.

Never heard of them....And looking at the stuff they sell, I can't believe my eyes, suchs bad designs (especially wheels) for that kind of money :embarrassed:
Agree with you completely.
Just took a look at them for the first time.
I am pretty sure it will be the last time too.
Never seen such ugly piece of work. The most expensive one looks like my very first Thrustmaster from 15 years ago !
But hey, maybe it works perfect...

Maaaan I so badly want to blow some money on one of the button boxes, I'm very tempted to order a P1 or a 2014 Race King in the coming weeks, I'm just stepping into the PC sim world and don't want to blow a whole lot of money at the very beginning, I just bought a TX, with the TH8RS shifter and the T3PA Pro pedals so I'm a little tapped out at the moment :embarrassed:

Agree with you there Derek. The H part of the Thomas shifter is fanatastic but I found the sequencial part not realistic at all. I used his shifter in both parts for quite a few races thinking nice then one day thought let me try your shifter to compare and have not swapped it back since.
There is just something about your shifter that feels good when it is slammed into position while down shifting that puts a smile on my face.

Hey Fellas, How's it going...

Just ordered a set of DSD Professional Grade Sim Racing Pedals 2015 today....can't wait for delivery already.
Had to sell my two Fenders and Marshall to get the cash so looking forward to their arrival in late November early December.
I race with a mob down here called SimFactor Australia doing F1 with some pretty switched on modders. If you get a chance check them out, they run an awesome F1 series.

The gear I'm upgrading from is a Hyperstimulator wheel and peddle set and surprisingly it has lasted me since 2003 with some pot changes along the way. I'm now looking for that extra second to push me towards the podium with the DSD Pedals.

I've had no experience with Derek's gear but from all my research they are what they call the "Ducks Nuts"

@derekspeare, I have a rather simple question I was not able to readily find the answer to on your site or on here: in regard to the Logitech G27 mini plates you offer, is it a one piece deal that also acts as the aftermarket wheel adapter? Meaning, if I buy the mini plate, do I also need the adapter?

anyone with experience of the mini plates is welcome to chime in as well.

sorry if the info is somewhere and I seemed to miss it.

thanks, Nukedogger.

Derek's shifter mounted on my new rig

It's really a brillant shifter. Mounting it properly makes it it even better.

EXCELLENT! It looks right at home and that's a great mount! Have great racing ahead and thank you for taking the time to post your photos and thoughts!

Hi Derek,

Big fan. Been a lurker around here. May look to purchase new pedals down the track (I hate the Clubsports, really unreliable, constant load cell issues) and was thinking of getting your pedals - which are probably the best around!

My question is, my cockpit pedal area is already on an angle and cannot be adjusted, I do note your lean back provides 10 degrees lean back, however not enough for my cockpit. Do you have any suggestions? I am currently using clubsports so that lean back profile is a good indicator of what I would like.

Did a bit of modding to my Fanatec Csr Elite pedals. The Tilton pads from DSD is awesome, but the brake pedal was a bit too narrow, so I used two Tilton pads for the brake and the result is very satisfying :) :gtpflag:

Question: I know that the Tilton pads will fit the T500 pedals, as there is the option for it on the site. As I'm getting a set of T3PAs soon, I was wondering - Would they fit? The pedals look pretty much identical so I don't see why they wouldn't work. Just wanting some clarification.

Let's do this: Send your full and complete shipping address to support@derekspearedesigns.com - We'll ship you a set of pads for the T500 pedals. Fit them onto the T300 pedals. They'll fit, and then you can confirm it back here with a photo.

And a "Fat Pad" is something we may do in the future:
