Dexter (Spoiler Potential)

OK that's what I thought. It's just in the episode Quinn met him in the bar made it seem as if we'd seen him previously and should know who he is. Also in this episode he says to Debra something like "we've both been f-ed by LaGuerta" again as if we were supposed to know why. It's just weird. Also yes it is Robocop, but that's not why I'm thinking he looks familiar.

We do know why. Don't you remember in an earlier episode of this season, La Guerta and the Internal Affairs Guy tried to sting an officer and her husband stormed in and blew their cover? The target of the sting was the P.I. (he's a cop). Qiunn knows him from sometime in his past but I don't think we were told the details.

The lightbulb just went off, I remember him now. Let's just wait and see what Liddy tells Quinn about these photos. He may try and blackmail Quinn saying something like "I've got some big news about Dexter you gotta pay me again." I can't wait for the next episode.

Earlier in another episode this season,Quinn wouldn't stay out of Dexter's business and LaGuerta put him on suspension.I'm guessing that is why he said that to Debra.

With each and each passing episode I think more and more this is going to be the last season. This episode was boring and full of false suspense. Jordan Chase now knows who Dexter is and that he's been with Lumen. I'm curious whose blood it is in Chase's vial and why it's so significant some is missing (aside from being tampered with by Dexter). I think that since homicide reopened the 'barrel girl' case and since Liddy is on his tail Dexter needs to be very careful and secretive. Lumen could easily get caught slipping and compromise them both.

Season and possibly the series finale on tonight. :nervous:

Its been renewed for a 6th season on Showtime. A small part of me wishes it would end now, on a high, rather than risk an average season. But, the writers havent let the show down yet, so I am positive about it!

I think it definitely slowed down. I mean Dexter was so sloppy in that last few episodes. It just seems as if they were going through a checklist of plot lines to tie up. I hope there is another killer as intriguing as Trinity was next season. I dislike how they got rid of Lumen so easily and quickly. I find it sad because she is the only person, besides Harry, who really knows Dexter. Her rejection of him after the murder of Jordan Chase is a rejection of his character. Lastly, negative blood work is all that clears Quinn!? What about his fingerprints, cell phone, etc.

Yea, there a few loose ends that just conveniently got overlooked - what about his first murder of the season, that hillbillly? Must have been lots of dna evidence at that scene.

It was a bit disappointing about getting rid of Lumen so quickly, although i can see why they did it - to continue the theme that he is broken and cant integrate into 'normal' society. If she had stuck around it would have been an endorsement of his activities and I am sure they will want to end the series at some point showing that his activities will get him into trouble he cant get out of.

Another Dexter fan here, got a while to wait for the next season. Interesting to note, Julia Stiles appeared in an episode of Six Feet Under with Michael C Hall...

First season was literally "by the book" and the best in my opinion, but both John Lithgow and Julia gave great performances to keep the series great, if not quite as clever as the 1st season.

I'm a big Dexter fan - my fvourite (and possibly best episode of tv I have watched) was the finale of season 4. I so did not see that coming - it actually took a little while to sink in.

Season 5 was good but definatey not as good as 4.

Did a quick search, and found Dexter Season 5. I think Dexter deserves a thread to discuss everything about the show. So crack away!

Good timing. I had stopped watching Dexter after season 3, but I resumed with season 4 yesterday. :P

Oh yea, S04E12 hit me as well ice cold. First I thought it's one of his flash backs, but then :scared:

Lumen (Julia Stiles) in season 5, nice addition. Anyone already knows who will be the next female partner in season 6?

Dexter, one of the best series ever. 9.033.735+ fans can't be wrong :dopey:👍

Bit of trivia, Julia Stiles had a bit part in an episode of Six Feet Under, Michael C Hall's earlier breakout series. Interesting, I thought.

And the finale of season 4 hit me like a ton of relief, I was so over that character! But surprising, too, yes.

Don't try and argue that it's not the best show on TV. :sly:

This season has been looking good. Not quite at season 4's level of awesome, but still great nonetheless. Any other GTPers fully caught-up?

I've watched the first three episodes of this season so far. Yay, Edward James Olmos! (Battlestar Galactica!) What's your theory?

Well, my theory was that Edward James Olmos' character isn't actually real. Kinda like Dexter's dad, he only exists in the killer's mind.

Hidden spolier text below:
In the last episode, they were sitting together in the cafe and the waitress didn't seem to acknowledge his presence and he didn't have a drink on the table. But now I'm not so sure because the police named him as a lead and the young killer wakes to find his one night stand tied up by presumable Edward's character. Could still be some sort of schizophrenic disorder I guess.

Last episode:

I remember someone suspecting 2 killers because of the inconsistencies of the wounds in the body. The limbs were separated from the body very crudely but they were sewed to the mannequins perfectly. It could still be something like a multiple personality disorder, but I think it's unlikely. The old guy is probably real.

Interesting theory nonetheless. The writers for Dexter have often been very clever in providing clues to lead us to suspect something which sometimes turns out and sometimes not. Best kind of drama writing, making us think!

I just saw this thread and wanted to chime in. I just started Dexter about 2 months ago. I finished season 4 today and I am in love with this show.

Prior to starting Dexter I have seen all of Six Feet Under and Michael C. Hall was my favorite character in it. The only other thing I have seen him in was Gamer. That movie sucked but he was fantastic. Then I finally decided to start Dexter and have been watching it like crazy. Such an awesome show.

Season 6 is starting here in a week or so. This year it is on a new premium pay channel, but given they will be showing ad-free and in HD, along with a whole lot of other HBO & Showtime shows (including classics) I will gladly fork out my 10 bucks a month to get it.

Damn, feeling pretty smug right now. Saw that plot twist coming from the very first episode. Glad they've still got something up their sleeves with the lab geek though.

Season 6 epi 9 spoiler:

No freaking way. After I saw your post about Geller being dead I began to look for clues if you were right, but as I stated before I was still pretty much convinced he was alive. I'm appalled they managed to fool me even after I was warned by you

Admittedly I don't remember Geller interacting with anyone other than Travis, but their conversations were just too real. For example Travis being chained by Geller... it then means Travis chained himself which is quite the odd behavior.

I'm re-watching a few parts from this episode and damn... this was masterfully done. Like, when Dexter follows Geller into the building it turns out Dexter never actually saw Geller, Travis was the one who did. Same with Dexter being found by Geller in the church last episode... Dexter always miss Geller for a split second, he never actually sees him.

Anyway, now the question remains if Travis was just pretending or if he has multiple personality disorder. I bet on the latter.
