Dexter (Spoiler Potential)

I finally got caught up on my episodes this past weekend, and I saw this coming from a mile away. I hate it when they make it too obvious what's going to happen. I noticed when Edward James Olmos was caressing a girl, I began to think he was real. The girl was reacting to his touches, I thought. But I was wrong, and later found out he told her before the shot to not react to his touches.

I didn't expect it.

I started to like Travis a lot, now I know he's just insane. Regarding the last page, I think he does have multiple personality disorder. I guess Dexter must have been in the elevator for a while though, for Travis to do all that. Maybe that's where the axe came from.

I think the Trinity season is still the best.

It was the second best for me. The original series, the Ice Truck Killer, was the best. The worst was with Jimmy Smits.

Yes... yes!

Season finale spoiler:
I was crying bulls*** when nobody saw the beast painting before Dexter had the opportunity to destroy it but man, this is better. This is much better. There's no backing out of this now. Debra knows. What the hell is going to happen now? How will it develop?

Man I love this show. I can't wait for the next season. Really, I might have to start reading the books.

Yeah, and not just Deb seeing him at work. Deb realizing she's in love with Dexter? Gross, but sure it's going to play into next season. And the intern guy will be coming back, I predict he's the next serial killer, but maybe not. Had me going there for a minute that Quinn was gone, which wouldn't have made me sad, but then turned it around.

^^I think everyone felt that way hahahaha.. I don't watch live tv. I watch online due to being In Japan. I started watching this series while in Iraq. good stuff.....

Oh man, what an ending. Totally redeemed an otherwise slightly lame season.

This.

Still, I can't help feel they should have ended it at the end of last season instead of making another season that was going to struggle to meet the heights of before.

At least now:

They have to bring it to a conclusion - the next season will be about her struggle to turn him in or forgive him given her creepy new feelings. Given they have to manufacture an entire season out of it, it's surely the latter.

I've heard there's only two more season's left of Dexter. Next one, and then another.'

I knew the season was going to end this way. That's the whole reason why they added the creepy Deb feelings in, to create a struggle between what everyone think's is right, and what she feels is right.

As a huge fan of Dexter it pains me to admit it, but I think this show is on it's last legs. They're stretching really far now. :indiff:

It's true that the show pales in comparison to what it used to be, but it's still very watchable. There are still a few things that need to happen before it can be put to rest, what happened at the end of this season being a perfect example. Sure, I'd rather they end it the right way, but knowing how american television works, I'm aware that just wont happen. As long as they don't spread it too thin to the point it becomes annoying, I'm fine with it.

Meh. I see what you're saying and in large part I agree with you. But I want more out of Dexter than "watchable." I'd like to see a whole host of characters disappear and be replaced with new, fresh faces and compelling stories. The people around Dexter now are getting stale. Maybe a change of locales... Something drastic should be in order.

I feel the same way. This show has 'jumped the shark' with the last episode and what was happening to Deb, being in love with Dexter. :yuck:

Did anybody watch episode 1 of the new season? I just got through it.

At first I was thinking this was going to be an incredible season, and then I saw the "this season, on Dexter snippet" at the end of the first episode and was like :indiff:. I suppose there will be the angle of the Captain doing her side investigation...

I'm just glad that Deb found all Dexters murder stuff in the first episode and they didn't drag it out for the whole season. Will be interesting to see how it pans out.

Also interested with how that intern guy will turn out, he seems pretty weird. Canceled all Dexters credit cards and he sent Dexter that arm last season.

I forgot he got sent that arm - yea, that interm arc seems to be deliberate. I can see him being the taunter to Dexter and Dexter, being made to play 'good boy' with Deb puts up with it until he cracks and goes back to his old ways.

I just find it hard to swallow that Deb would forgive him after her Ice Truck Killer experience, and how it obviously means he framed Doakes.

Is anybody else watching this season?

I'm enjoying it, but its like they have made a concerted effort to cram in as many story arcs as possible in any two consecutive episodes. First it was Speltzer, then Sirko now it's this Phantom. A bit change from all previous seasons where there was one major arc to the season...

spoiler tags, please

It's in the title of the thread.

Do what I did - avoid the thread until you're caught up. 👍

It's easier for everyone involved that way.

This.

This season has let me down, again. It's not a good show, anymore. Still going to watch it, though. I still have hope it'll turn for the better.

Just finished a marathon of Dexter. Watched from season 1 all the way to the current episode over the past week and a half. Its been fantastic all the way through. Such a shame that season 8 will be the final one :-(

Did anybody spot the huge continuity failure in this weeks episode .

Shaping up for a cliffhanger season finale for sure...

Is it something to do with previous seasons? It's been a while since I've seen them so I don't recall them very well.

Nope:

Deb has been driving a E46 BMW 3 series convertible in this series (since she made Lt), but regarding her accident, when Dex went to check out the wreck, she was all of a sudden driving a E36 3 Series convertible! What makes it worse is that the e46 was shown not 5 mins before the e36 in this episode!

Haha I thought it had something to do with her Beemer alright lol.

Season finale is on tonight (tomorrow - depending on your time zone lol) :-D Cannot wait!!

Just watched the season finale, and it's just amazing. The drama, the acting, the ending...

Give me next season now! :dopey:

Hmmmmm:

Was hoping for more of a cliffhanger. All we are left with is how Debra copes and what becomes of Hannah McKay. How awesome would it have been if they had ended it before Debra made her choice!
