In the 2nd picture. There's a man wearing a black and yellow shirt. Thats Bob Riggle the driver of the Frantic Fish. I spoke to him a couple of times over the weekend and had my pic taken with him. Really nice guy. I wonder if he managed to retire this time though? Also. All the times I've been to the Fos. The Cuda is the only one to have the fire engine follow it up the hill. It was quite possibly the hottest summer we've had in the UK for a 5 years at least. The worry was his plates on the bumper would set fire to the hay.

This one hadn't run for I think 6 years. So it coughed, spluttered and spat flames the 1st few runs. Also I was listening to the owner/driver talking to one of the stewards. The distributor cap is a very hard to find piece and one of them's wearing out. Luckily a friend of his actually uses one as an ashtray. So when it does go, Then they're gonna swap. She made 171mph breaking the Land Speed Record. On a later run at Pendine sands she rolled over killing Thomas. The car was buried at Pendine. She was excavated 40 years later and restored to how she is now.

The driver is Gary Ward. Unfortunate. But someone crashes every year. I think this is one of the cars he uses in the GP Masters and is used to the car. He does a timed run every year and he is easily in the top 10 fastest drivers. Before these F1 cars go up the hill. The rally batch usually goes up. Some stay off the grass. While others like to cut it. Dragging the dust on the tarmac. You can see the plume of dust in the 1st pic. I think that was the main cause personally. The driver was ok though and I presume the cars fixed by now. You can also make the 98T in GT6 using the 97T and changing the parts.

1987 Jaguar XJR8-9 Grp.C. Justin Law won sundays timed shootout in this car. But it wasn't the fastest over the weekend. The Peugeot 208 Pikes Peak was timed to. But during the shootout itself it developed a fuel pump issue and was losing time after molecombe. Both the Peugeot and Rebellion Lola-Toyota (not officially timed) were about 2 secs faster than the Jaguar.

The story goes that Lord March set Justin a challenge. He was usually fastest or among the fastest up the hill with his Jaguar XJR8/9. So March basically gave him the transit and said see how you do with this. Justin raced for the TWR Jaguar team in the Le Mans series. And apparently there just so happened to be some XJ220 bits lying around. This is what happened. A transit that can get up the hill in under a minute and eat Holden Utes for breakfast.

2013 Skoda Fabia S2000. 1st picture wasn't at the Fos. I went over to the circuit on Wednesday cos I could hear something buzzing round from the campsite. Skoda were giving people test drives in the new Octavia vRS and the Fabia was taking GRRC members around the circuit. There's a couple of pics taken at the circuit. The Lightning GT, Vette C2 convertible and some of the Skoda's and a few 911's. But most were at the festival in the end.

1988 Peugeot 405 T16 GR 'Pikes Peak'

1998 Toyota Tacoma 'Pikes Peak'. Crazy car/truck. It has some serious turbo lag. It stutters off the line and crawls for about 15-20 metres. But when the turbo's kick in damn it flies. Wasn't a good year for the Tacoma though. After 2012's mishap during the timed run. Millen must of benn kicking himself. There's a video on tube btw. Basically went wide at molecombe but kept his foot down, changed gear on the grass. Up to. Not down. But when he rejoined the track, the differing grip levels sent the back out. Not much damage was done thankfully though. This year someone hadn't closed the body properly and the back came up. I didn't see it so I don't know the full story. But the car disappeared from public view shortly after.

2013 Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak. This would've of won the timed shootout if it wasn't for a fuel pump issue. 49 secs was the fastest time it achieved if I remember right. This year it's going back with Loeb behind the wheel. His aim is to beat Heidfelds 41.6 record. It's gonna be tough. The Pug is powerful and 4wd. But it's width might be a problem. When Heidfeld did his record run in the Ex Hakkinen Mclaren. The track was different. He had balls. Past molecombe and upto the flint wall there wasn't any run off. The hay bales were right next to the track. One mistake would've been a disaster. Soon after Lord March basically banned the modern F1 cars from doing timed runs because of safety.

The owner of the dealership I work at collects classic Mopar and bought himself a second GTX. He also took the dealership's SRT Viper out. Unfortunately I couldn't get a picture of them sitting together.
