 That's it. I'm packing my bags and moving to Scottsdale, Arizona. I've actually been there before and it's nice. :)

I was up in NYC last weekend and visited Manhattan Motorcars. Absolutely blown away by all the cars there. I'll be adding some more later, but here's a teaser to hold everyone over.

Nice. I'll be honest though. I was expecting you to end it with pics from the Ferrari/Maserati dealer there; they always have some unique cars up for sale. :dopey:

Damn. Any 1 of those cars is more valuable than all of the cars at the auto shows here. I wasn't able to go to this last one, and the only cars worth taking a picture of when I went were the soon-to-be released 5.0 and Boss Mustangs, Audi R8 V10 Spyder, Cadillac CTS-V, and a yellow and black Challenger SRT8 that everyone was calling bumble bee...

It's the same way with the local auto show. There's a few neat cars but nothing to spectacular. The Philadelphia show is quite nice though, even though it takes an hour to drive down there.

So I went to the Barrett-Jackson today. Thankfully just a ten minute drive from my house, and I stayed there from about 12:30 until 5:00. Quite a nice experience, I highly recommend you do it if you can. So, brace yourselves, this is gonna be a long post.

The new Impala, which looks quite nice inside and out, especially inside. All the materials felt of high grade, and the color scheme was pleasant. I didn't however like the hollow plasticy feeling of the body panels, though most of the other GM cars on display shared that quality. The doors on all the GM cars were quite light as well, a stark contrast to the anchors that were the last generation Impala's doors.

IMG_4157.jpg

IMG_4166.jpg

IMG_4168.jpg

IMG_4164.jpg

The new ATS is surprisingly small-looking in person, and it's snug inside. Nevertheless, it feels like a pretty nice car, though I hate the weird sterile fabric feel of the headliner, which feels quite cheap and was shared with all the other GM cars sans the XTS also on display; more on that later.

IMG_4173.jpg

IMG_4178.jpg

Yours truly.
IMG_4176.jpg

The Terrain was surprisingly SUV-like despite its crossover designation and Equinox platform mate. Very very roomy interior, though not quite up to par as the Buicks or Cadillacs, still felt quite nice, and the leg room in the back was comparable to that of a significantly larger SUV.
IMG_4181.jpg

IMG_4179.jpg

As far as interiors go, the XTS blew the rest out of the water and knocked their socks off. Unlike the rest, the headliner was made out of this suede-like material that felt very nice, and all the leathers felt buttery smooth. The interior design was very nice, and the rear seat had generous legroom. It was exquisite.

By then I'd completed a full tour of the interior so I hung around the auction block, which to my surprise you can actually get pretty close to the action without anyone saying anything.

I then went to the other end of the auction block and got a picture of a whopping one picture before my camera called it quits. Still, some 277 pictures and about 5 hours of time spent there, as well as scoring a neat C4 Corvette emblem and a 1/18th scale Citroen DS 23, I think it was a good day. :dopey:

EDIT: A LONG post upcoming! Brace yourselves for crappy pics from Verva Street Racing event!

Apparently, people come there to listen to stupid music, commentators and OVERLY LOUD commercials (I'm a metalhead guys, I know what's loud :P) rather than cars' engines themselves.

I haven't got any pictures, but on the way to school, I sometimes see a Matte Black Aventador race past me. It's lovely.

^I see 74 of those every day, but I never have a phone ready to shot a picture.

(LONG POST WARNING)

As promised, here's my mountain-sized post full of crappy pics from a spot where I had to reach my arms high in the air.

Good thing I'm 190 cm tall ;)

Verva Street Racing is an event to which the most magnificent cars in the world come to drive on a street, square-shaped, 1,5 km-long circuit. As I said earlier, you'd think people come there to watch and listen to cars, but you'd be dead wrong. You come there to listen to stupid (and bloody hell, unfitting) music, cheesy safety commercials and a commentator more annoying than 9 mosquitoes attacking you. At once. At night.:grumpy:

Anyway, here we go:

CAR SHOW PART:
The worst thing is - the event was free of charge. However, buying a not-so-expensive tickets would give one access to Pit Party, where the best cars were placed. I missed a lot of Lambos, Ferraris and this kind of stuff :( :guilty:

Citroen DS3 R S. Loeb Championship Edition (SAY WAT). There was a Peugeot RCZ right next to it, it was allowed to sit in it. Man is that car not fitted for tall people... At least the seats are comfortable (surprisingly comfortable!):
