That has to be the most colourful event ever :)
Yeah, I guess you could say that. Some went all out on their wraps, others just put decal stickers on.

and, the first few garage spots look pretty wild to me, so could go in the non-event thread, and be absolutely epic there!

but aside from technicalities, great fun, thanks for sharing!

I didn't want to post over there because I view the stops on goldRush to kind of be events. Others may think it wouldn't be but it's my views. lol. And no problem!

Going to a Woodward dream cruise style car show the 22, 23, and 24th of August, be prepared for alot of pics, its one of the biggest shows on the west side of the state.

Here are some pics of classic cars at a car show I came across. Enjoy!

Here's the most special one there. According to the sign sitting in the car it is NOT a kit car. :embarrassed: not sure I believe it but, that's what it said. Sadly I didn't get a chance to talk to the owner.

I need more pics of that wagon in my life... As for the Cobra it's technically not a kit but a continuation car. I believe they have a CSX4000(non aluminum 427 cars) vin number. The originals were CSX3000 for the 427s. It was not built in the '60s but I guess can be registered as one. They're basically brand new Cobras that you can buy today. Also the fact that it was built in South Africa should have given you an idea of the legitimacy of it.

I'll 2nd that, Very nice information by the way.👍

It's a Superformance car built in South Africa not a 60's original. Still very nice.:)

We have a shop in town that builds them too, XK's unlimited. You Jag fans may have heard of it.:sly:

Yup I have (or had, rather) a Shelby licensed indoor dealership in my town and I can walk out with a brand new 2014 Shelby Cobra 427 S/C that is built exactly the same as a 1965 model. Shelby also sells roadsters with 289s in them, same as the 60's as well. You can find them and details on their website as well a a dealer locator.

As a bonus I see actual Gone in 60 Seconds (2000) Eleanor's in there all the time in the window. Ones from the movie. Shelby America likes to show them off.

As far as identifying kits from originals? You can't. The only way to tell is to find the stamped Shelby cast number on the frame. I don't believe it is accessible without removing some things. The Cobra is one of the most replicated cars in the world so identifying one is tough. I'd imagine of all the spots here maybe 1, if that, is legit.

I've seen a couple that are real. It's basically impossible to tell unless they have pictures of the chassis code.(as stated) Almost all of the 289s I've seen have been real though. They're just not as commonly replicated as the 427s.

Thanks for the info guys! I remembered the chassis code but couldn't remember the details of what would make it an original.

I've been to lazt to upload these photos so may as well do it now. I'm not gonna post all of the photos from the Toyota museum as some are just of Camrys and whatnot, so i'll leave a link at the end for anyone who wants to see the full gallery.

And... I knew it! I knew that GAZ Chaika can be found in USA! :D

So, today I was on the DTM practice on the Moscow Raceway. The entry was free today, so I thought: why not to come? So I came, and got back with some photos (and impression... they sound so awesome! Haven't heard any real racecars for a while).

Guys, it's too late night for me, and I wanna sleep. I'll post a small amount of pics now and the rest will be coming tomorrow.
