wow, sounds like you're having a great vacation, Beeblebrox!

and looks like a 1983 S130 280ZX non-turbo to me...

and, didn't get to go spotting yet today, though 76 degrees, warmest of year, and no chance of rain. Just after finishing tutoring my math student, made it about a mile up the road and had to stop and call my dad (mechanic) to ask if I should tow or drive home, as my front driver side brakes were squeaking god-awfully, and were engaged enough to bring me quickly to a stop once I was under a few mph. He said caliper frozen, fine to drive home... and it seemed to work itself out.. I still took the wheel off and wrenched on it a bit, but saw there was no way for me to lubricate without disassembling everything, which would mean replacing gaskets and such that I don't have on hand... went around the block, no feeling of undesired braking... may go out again now to spot some more...

but on the way to tutoring, didn't even get to a main road...

'43 Kubelwagen + bonus Scimitar. 👍

And darn it. You've gone and reminded of the 3200 GT I missed last month.

Thanks, . Took a pic of the scimitar a while back along with a Triumph dolomite that's usually parked there.

No, it's a wall.

No, that's a petrol station and a junction.

My last picture of a Toyota MR-S. Mainly because I've seen enough of them I think.

Thanks for telling me what it is. I had no idea.

I've no idea what this was, anyone know? I have another photo if necessary, but it's just as bad.

It's a Mazda 323F, but why are some of your other pictures just of streets?

C'mon people. These pictures are 🤬 and don't deserve to be posted.

This isn't the "did you take any nice pictures of cars today" thread, it's the DYSAGT thread. The pictures are for proof, not for beauty.

The rules even say:

Don't just state the name of the car. Give us a picture at least - even if it's a crap one from a camera phone. If you can't show us the car, how can we believe that you saw it?

1st of all, I like stating the names of cars for context and not everyone knows what a MR-S is.

2nd of all, Refer to the OP:
  • Don't just state the name of the car. Give us a picture at least - even if it's a crap one from a camera phone. If you can't show us the car, how can we believe that you saw it? And don't just replicate an image from Supercars.net or the vendor's web site: we want to see THE car that you saw.
As in, the quality of the picture doesn't matter.

Read the last sentence in Giles post. Half these pictures are spent playing "Find Waldo".

In all of the pictures that Daan quoted, I can find the car easily. In two of them, the location of the car is even stated in the post.

@daan, not the wall, the orange car next to it. A tablet and 50 feet don't make the best pictures .
It looks like it's parked to me. Perhaps you could have went closer to take the photo?

The pictures are for proof, not for beauty.
Yeah, but they're awful, and some don't even show the car. Pictures of petrol stations don't prove anything and don't belong here. Pictures of blobs don't prove anything and don't belong here.

I'm well aware of what the first post says. Bear in mind it was written in 2006 and camera phones from 2006 were crap and I'm pretty sure that's what GG meant. It doesn't mean a "poorly taken photograph".💡

The funny thing is that I did crop the MR-S, the original picture was worse.

Anyway, while I agree that the UTEs and Pantera could've been a bit cropped better, I can still see the other pictures of what the cars are otherwise. As previously stated, quality doesn't matter as long as we can tell what car it is. I can easily tell what cars they are in each of those pictures.

He was using a phone pic as an example. A "crappy photo" doesn't always mean one taken from an old cell phone.

I think you're underestimating how hard it can be at Times to take a picture of another car while driving. And even when you're still, you have to time it right. And then you're 100ft away with a cell phone that has horrid 4x zoom and the slightest movement ruins the picture.

I can see the Pantera just fine. It's a little dark, but visible. The El Camino is perfectly fine, great pic as far as I care.

Exactly. When in a car, nice cars usually don't just drive up next to you.

Oh don't get me started on the 4x zoom, that thing really ticks me off at times.

@daan My phone has no zoom and only properly focuses half the time. Add to that the fact that with any car in the street I'm lucky to even get one shot, and that accounts for some of my poor shots. The other half was because I was with someone who doesn't care about cars and had to stand around for long enough as it was while I went gaga over cars. That's an explanation of why my photos are bad, not an excuse. Bad photos are bad.

Sorry my little camera is crap at motion, long distance and, well, most everything else..

Randomly decided to go to the promenades today, and I'm glad I did!

@daan, two reasons why that wasn't possible:

1: I was with mom at the bank. She would've looked at me like I was insane if I said "Leave the paycheck! El Camino!"

2: It wasn't parked, it was going through the parking lot.

None of those things are evident in the picture, but it wasn't possible.

The last sentence is:

In all of the pictures that Daan quoted, I can find the car easily. In two of them, the location of the car is even stated in the post.
They're not showing anyone a car. They're showing a picture of a gas station the car just happens to be somewhere in it, or a picture of a street where the car is 50 yards away.
I think you're underestimating how hard it can be at Times to take a picture of another car while driving. And even when you're still, you have to time it right. And then you're 100ft away with a cell phone that has horrid 4x zoom and the slightest movement ruins the picture.
This isn't an excuse. It's called a missed opportunity. We used to have members who would turn around & even follow the cars to get a decent pic. They are the people who used to make this thread. Now you have people calling a 944 Porsche a Mazda, and then being corrected that it's a 993 from the late 70's. Bad pictures + no knowledge of cars = why we've had pictures of Cavaliers, for 🤬 sake.

There needs to be a new rule added @daan:, "You must be within' a certain range of the car as well". Otherwise, these guys can just sit on the parking garage of a building near a highway, and take random photographs telling us there's a Ferrari in it, & it's 5 miles down the road as a red blur.
I'd rather have a 🤬 picture than no picture so I don't have to listen to all the "your story is bull:censored:" claims and "pics or it didn't happen" comments.
You know how to fix this? Don't post the claim in the first place. A garbage picture from far away might as well be as bad as no picture at all; I still can't make out the car unless you point it out.
