No pics (at work), but there's a Dodge Viper parked across the street... can't tell what trim but it's likely an RT-10, blue with white racing stripes. It's gathering quite the crowd now (finally, it's been there for almost 15 mins).

Whatever the Cobra thing is, it has a 5.7l engine.

So you looked under the hood then?

There is a pretty outrageous number of engines that are dropped into the Cobra, both Ford and Chevrolet models for the most part.

The more common engines in the US are usually the 289ci and 427ci Ford engines, however there is the occasional 351ci as well. Generally speaking, if it isn't a Ford, it usually ends up as a 350ci Chevrolet.

Saw my first Z8 today, in red:

A friend saw a Bugatti Veyron on the road on Saturday, so these spots really don't compare to his, although I have yet to see his claimed 89 photos of that spot. But here goes anyway:

HIGHLIGHTS:

New Audi TT - surprised they're already out. I also saw one on my campus - an automatic and perhaps the same one as this one, since they have the same colors and wheels. The VIN of the one on my campus ends in 1096, meaning it was probably on the first boat.

You're looking at the third generation of the world's most popular convertible, the lovely Chrysler Sebring. I still think the second-gen models are better-looking and, once again, I'm surprised this is out already. Saw two this weekend - both rentals.

New Mercury Mariner.

Gotta love the city which possesses the headquarters of Porsche of North America.

No - this probably was not a factory color.

Great Yarmouth?
Yep sure is, been living here for all my life, its a nice place but lacking in decent cars if you ask me. They all tend to come out during the summer, mostly from places far away. :)

The genuine article probably won't be running 15" or 16" wheels with low profile tyres. Most kits/replicas go for that 427 body style with side exit exhausts, chrome overiders with grill surround, chrome flashes on the rear arches (to stop the hot exhaust burning the paint), large bonnet scoop and replica halibrands. If it looks like what you think is a generic Cobra - it's probably not a real one, not many have all those 'features'
Thanks, that should help in future :)

The big thing is going to be the Shelby badges on the outside of the car (normally on the sides, just ahead of the door... Normally will say Shelby Cars USA, will probably have a 427 or 289 badge), or at least the easiest way to tell would be to look on the inside for the authentication plate, signed by Shelby himself, complete with the car's number as well.
Cant really get to see inside the car or even take in much detail on the outside when it only drives past once (the boy racers tend to circle around the marine parade endlessly, if only the owners of such cars as this would do the same :()

It's a British number plate, so a quick RAC.co.uk check tells you that it carries 5700cc.

Here.
Hmmm, sweet, that should come in handy too :D

End note: Thanks for all the info you guys gathered, should help me considerably in future when identifying cobra's :) +rep 👍

Stunning trio of black exotics, Doug 👍

Although, I've already seen 2 or 3 new TT's, 5 new Sebrings, and one new Eos with the hardtop up.

It's weird - I saw my first Eos eight months ago, and yet you've seen new Sebrings (convertibles, I presume you mean) before me. You never know which portion of the country is going to get the first shipments. What do you think of the TT?

... Really? I had the impression the Eos wasn't even out yet... And 3 of the Sebrings were sedans, 2 were convertibles.

My very first Eos spot, from August 26, 2006:

I now see them frequently - three or four per Saturday. Not attractive vehicles, in my view, but quick and cheap.

Surprised you've only seen one new Sebring sedan!

Gallardo SE (black roof) bad picture but it's got to go on here eh! Looks really small compared to this Toyota Crown taxi...

sorry if im off topic, but with the badges. although blurred can anyone identify the cobra i saw?

to me this looks like an AC badge, but its blurred so im not sure
badge1sa5.jpg

i guess even with Image stabilization with the camera set to 'sports' mode cant prevent blur, if only i had my 20D, it could have done that (with a 1/500 shutter speed no less :))

A 427 badge, kinda helps things along.

The Sebring convertible will only ever be owned by rental companies and the wife/daughter of a Chrysler employee. At Oakland alone I think there are probably 6 convertible and 15 regular ones. I can not stand the new Sebring...in fact I can't stand Chryslers.

I've seen a new TT once, and that was on an Audi dealers lot. I'm yet to see one in the wild.

I disagree, since it's the most popular convertible on Earth. I have several friends who own them and are happy. I like the vehicle - I know they're not car-people cars but they're roomy, cheap, usable convertibles.

No - this probably was not a factory color.

Actually, I think it was. Cadillac did one year with two special edition blue colors, but they had to be special ordered by the dealer if I recall correctly. We're talking production numbers that were 1000 and under...

On the spottings today, I finally saw my first '07 Altima, and as I turned back around to grab the shot after going to Best Buy, the car was gone...

...Needless to say, I was a bit upset...

I've seen probably 6 or 7 new Altima's in the past few weeks. I'm not a huge fan of the rear. :indiff: I think the tail lamps are too big.

I can't believe how long it takes you guys to see these things - I saw my first new Altima on December 2!!

Anyone else think the turn signals are about one foot too long?

I think I have only seen one new Altima, though I have not exactly been paying attention to see if I have seen more. It is not a car at the top of my "Pay Attention and See This Car List". I agree about the tail lamps. They looked way too large and somewhat out of place.
