Yes, I was being serious. Thanks

Should I have known that? Was it obvious, Captain?

Yes, it was much touted as the American MX-5 (Or, Miata, whetever) and we're soon to get it over here as an Opel/Vauxhall.

Here's a Lincoln Mark LT

And I can't remember if I posted this one or not, but here's an SL55 (65? I can't really remember) AMG next to a busted up S10.

YSSMAN
Its a 2007 Ford Mustang GT California Special. I think there were fewer than 5000 made, as it was the first of the 'special' Mustangs (to later be followed presumably by the Mach 1, BOSS, and Bullitt). I saw it when I was coming home from Target, sitting in a Wal-Greens parking lot. I immediately turned around and snapped the photos.

I've seen probably 9 or 10 of those things running around my area. At first I thought it was just some fake badging (the first time I saw one) but then I started to see more. Here's the first one I saw.

What's that?

It was the first Sky I had seen on the road. I've seen a red one on display at a mall though. The Pontiac Soltice looks almost identical and I've been seeing tons of them. Just snapped the first one I'd seen though.

They're cheap too.

I love the wheel distortion through the shutter.

I found a pretty rare car yesterday near the golf course I play at. I had absolutely no clue what it could've possibly been, so I pulled over and took a closer look. Maybe some of the Europeans have seen one of these, but it's certainly a rarity in Canada. Definitely one of the rarest cars I've ever seen, with less than 500 produced.

Uggh!

While I was talking on the phone with my Aunt this afternoon, within a half-mile of each other I saw a Champagne-colored Lotus Elise and a Banana-Yellow Ford Mustang GT500.... Ahhhh!

I think he made that remark because they're pretty common. Can't believe it's Matt's first spot - I saw my first one ten months back - they're everywhere these days.

Fantastic spot - horrible that it's in such bad shape. Can't fault you for that, though, I guess. Thanks for the photos!

Is the VW Farenheit GTI a bright orange color? If so, I saw one today, along with a Porsche Cayman. I have probably only see one or two other Caymans.

Today, i saw a 760Li, Carrera4S, CaymanS and an M3 cabrio. I thought i took pics of them all. Then i came home and realized that my memory stick is still in my computer and the pics i took were not saved.

Makes me kinda mad :grumpy:

This is quickly becoming my favorite BMW, passing the e30 318 and Z8.

Just came across this beatiful e31 850i around the corner from my house - shame it's an auto. Doug - I challenge you to find a manual (only on CSi's)

I made myself that very same challenge years ago, but to this day I have never seen an 850CSi.

I see regular 8-series with surprising regularity (especially in Denver), even the 850, but the CSi has proven elusive. If I recall right, only about 1000 were made, and less than a quarter of those came to the States. Prices are still high throughout the 8-series line so I'd bet most are garage queens. I'd love to see one, but I've resigned myself to the fact that it may never occur.

Actually being that david is in the uk i dont think he's ever seen one, i know i havent, it seems Saturns arent for sale over here you know :)

Hey Joey - do you know if it's possible to keep your blue plates if you get a new car?

That Sky Redline suggests it's possible, but I'm just wondering.

When your tabs are up you have to turn in your plate and get either a white with blue letter plate or a new one with the Mackinac bridge on it. I refuse to get the white plate when my tabs come due, I'll pay the extra money for the green one with the bridge.

At least this is what I'm being told, just the thought of spending any amount at the SOS makes me want to kill myself.

And with the Sky, the Redlines have been our around here since September of last year. We get all the GM cars a lot earlier then the rest of the country because I think we are the only ones who buy them. Also as long as it was licensed before Dec 31, 2006 it can keep the blue plate until it's time to re up it. It's pretty stupid and has just created a hassle for everyone.

I actually plan on getting this...

Not very special but some evil looking cars around last night...

New TT, E55 AMG, Brabus CLS500, Ferrari F430:

Is the VW Farenheit GTI a bright orange color?

Yes, the GTI version is. The GLI version is a bright yellow.

The license-plate issue is pissing-off a lot of people around Grand Rapids, as a lot of us liked 'Old Blue.' I had been planning on keeping my current plate (I've had it since my first car back in 2003), but I've found a few alternatives. Thus far, I'm planning on going with this:

(Not that I condone the purchase, or playing of DRIV3R...)

Not sure if it was a good sighting, but I recently saw a Mercedes E55AMG with SLR McLaren wheels. I never got a photo, but they must be replicas as I've never even heard of there being an SLR in Australia.

Nice spots, Nissan Figaro would be a rare one!

Thanks. I actually see that Figaro around town quite often, but that's the first time I've caught it parked.

The Super Bee looks decent in the picture, but it appeared to be pretty cancerous from the street.

In terms of sightings, I didn't get much today. Caught a pic for the Scavenger Hunt, and saw an 8 Series, a 645Ci, and a Cayman S. No pictures, though. The Cayman was at my work, so if it's there tomorrow I'll try a shot.

I've got to say, though, that I'm impressed with the car. Pictures don't do it justice.

Could someone fill me in on what makes the CSi's so special? As I have always wondered why about what they are and the such. I am a little, okay a lot behind, on my BMW history. Or could you all provide me with some links that you use to sites that have a history of such cars? Etc.?

I don't know how rare this is. But I've never seen this model Skyline here before.

Brand spanking newly registered too.

They were rare and still are somewhat, now they are starting to turn up more often. I have seen a few lately, soon enough you will probably see them all the time.

It's probably pretty expensive for the state too. It sucks - I missed seeing those familiar Michigan blue license plates. You know, they were in use continuously since 1983. To my knowledge, only Vermont now uses white lettering on a dark background, with Colorado and Michigan being the final holdouts before that.

My plates will be 'NYC-1337'

Also I've seen at least 2 850Csi's

And 3 Saturn Skies.

Not sure if they'll allow NYC-1337, as it would be in the same format as the general issue license plate - though that hasn't gotten to the 'NYC' series yet.

There was never an M8 produced, so the sportiest model to come from the factory was the CSi. It was tuned by M and not BMW themselves, so it was as close asyou can get to an M8.

The only M8 prototype was destroyed as they decided there was no market for such a car. The motor it was running was pretty much the same thing that went on to be the Mclaren F1's powerplant.
