Yeah, night spots are always difficult, and yours is better than mine, which were taken later than usual tonight on account of golfing running long. Here goes:

brooklands-051807.jpg

Bentley Brooklands. The weird thing here is that admittedly I don't know my older Bentleys as well as I should've so I Wikipedia-ed the Brooklands, and this one comes up as the main picture on the Bentley Brooklands Wiki. Not just a similar one with the similar color - this one. With the same license plate. Now that's just absurd. At least it proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that this is a Brooklands!

I just saw my first Wiesmann convertible (on the road, not at a dealership), sorry no photo. An old man with pretty long grey greasy hair was driving it, bah! :yuck:

Today i saw:
Chevrolet Blazer (2 doors).
BMW X3.
Chrysler Sebring Convertible.
Chevrolet Lacetti SE.
Opel Astra with OPC emblem.

my reason why i dont post pics of nice cars i see everyday is because i would jam this thread with my pics:D
just for example what i have come a long today: Ferrari F430 in red
Ferrari 612 Scaglietti in blue
Lots of Range rovers
New Audi S6 and S8
SL 55 and the new CLS 63!!!
'04 M5
Mayback 57. WHAT A SHIP:D

here you can see all kind of exotics and vintage cars. My neighbours have a yellow Murcielago and a black Gallardo :drooly:

EDIT:// this video shows what i see on dubai's road everyday :D- have a look on the license plates, some of cost more then the car itself
here's the link incase it doesnt work : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-amFzHc52k&mode=related&search=#

I drove around for about 5 hours yesterday--Friday--and didn't manage much. I'm realizing that there really aren't any exceptionally extravagant rich people here in Dayton. We don't have any super-wealthy malls or anything like that, and we don't even have any restaurants with a proper valet service! My cousin works at an upscale market and has seen a Phantom once. He put groceries in its trunk.

But these are the best of what I got:

Didn't somebody say it looks better in blue? It might look better if the owner had heard of washing the damn thing.

It's a bi-turbo S4 on Ultraleggeras. Really, I find it quite funny how many Volkswagons and Audis around here are tuned--possibly lowered, on rims, huge turbo and 500 horsepower--but have a bike rack on top. YSSMAN, is the bike rack the key to Euro tuning or something?

While M3s are quite common, as are Corvettes (there were 3 in this country club parking lot), i thought it was cool that they were parked next to each other, and next to an E55 to the right which my phone ran out of memory for.

Woo a CTS-V! On snow tires even...

And this is the first new LS I've seen. Gotta love the exhaust.

My goal for the day was to find at least one car worth over $100,000. Here she is. Country Club of the North (where the M3 is) never fails to please, whether with golf, service, or nice cars.

I kind of regret not getting out of my car to get a closer look.

Boy, you guys are so lucky to be seeing all these cool cars. In this area (rural landscape) it is mainly Camaros and Mustangs. I may see a Corvette once a year if I'm lucky. The last time I saw a Dodge Viper up in this area was probably 10 or more years ago. Other than that, I haven't ever seen anything exotic.:nervous:

What are teh black car behind AMV8?

I like it

Do you believe you just said you like a Saturn?

Spots today:

s8-051907.jpg

S8. As I went to photograph the S8 I heard an incredible crash, which was this:
dishes-051907-2.jpg

The guy broke like 20 dishes. The noise was so loud I thought two vehicles had collided.

Also:

v8_vantage-051907-2.jpg

v8_vantage-051907.jpg

V8 Vantage; I've spotted the same one a couple of times over the last couple of days, which I'm quite happy about since it's gorgeous.

And:

db9_volante-051907.jpg

The V8 Vantage driver went right by the DB9 Volante - I bet he was pretty jealous!

quattroporte-051907.jpg

Quattroporte. Sorry about the poor quality; the exposure was up because of last night so I had to darken it.

z4_m_coupe-051907.jpg

Z4 M Coupe. Only the second one I've seen.

And...

That was my afternoon! :D

Looks like you had a good afternoon, great car spots. Love the V8 Vantage and Ferrari, the Audi is very nice too. Good shots. đź‘Ť
A pink Hummer. :yuck:

Thanks!

Still reeling from the pink Hummer spot - almost hit a Mustang going for the image. The vehicle had 'fight breast cancer' plates, which I think may be the reason for the pink-ness (since they, too, are pink). A very odd-looking vehicle.

I saw a prevoious-generation (sorry, not up on Porsche chassis codes yet) Carrera GT3 RS. Silver with red trim. Got out my phone but some jackass in a FX35 pulled out in front of me so I didn't get a shot of it.

The previous generation is the 996 and the current generation is the 997. Before the 996, it was the 993. Don't ask me about before that as I just know there is a 964 and a 930 and that is about it.

Nice!

I'm pretty sure the U.S. didn't get the RS's.

There were a few gray-market imports of the RS shortly after they debuted. I was looking around on DuPont registry a while back and came across two of them. One was in Miami, the other was some place out west (probably Las Vegas).

As pointed out, probably not an RS but you never know. However even a regular GT3 of course merits a mention in this thread, as they went for just over $100,000 new and are extremely rare.

The Porsche chassis codes, particularly for the 911, aren't difficult.

911 (1964-1974):

930 (1974-1989):

964 (1989-1993):

993 (1993-1998):

996 (1999-2004):

997 (2005-_):

Presuming the next one is 998, then Porsche only has two more codenames before they run out. They had originally called the first 911 simply the 911, planning to replace it later, but a redesign happened and thus the codenames were born. I need to get my own photos of these things so I don't have to go trouncing through Google images looking for the only stock 993 in existence.

The only Porsche 911s that were called 930 were the 1974-1989 Turbos, signifying them as a completely different model; and the normally aspirated 911s were coded as 911 all the way up to the 964. The Turbo was then merged back into the 911 range officially.

I'll kick my couple out here:

carspot001ee3.jpg

The fabled dual-rear-wiper Camry wagon.

carspot001af7.jpg

Ford Model T, customized. The picture doesn't show the color well, but it was a spectacular color. Metallic, kind of a mix between Forest Green and Highland Green.

But just look at it! It's so different!

Of course, I posted a Turbo...

The small black Ferrari at the top - An F355? - looks like it's very compact. Is it just the photo, or is it quite small?

It's a 348ts (predecessor to the 355 and successor to the 328 - ran '89 to about '94 or '95). Not small - about as long as a Chrysler PT Cruiser. Low, yes, but it's a Ferrari. For perspective, some other 348 shots showing other stuff:

It's actually around the same size as a 360, though a bit smaller in all dimensions.

I have a different theory about the codename. Porsche gave their first car the codename: 901. But because Peugeot already had numbers with a "zero" in the middle of their codename, so Porsche had to change 901 to 911. Thus, this is how 911 is born. Before the 911 the was a 912 model.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche_901

Well yes - that's how it was originally named. But my point is that originally the car wasn't codenamed, just named. But as it progressed, they kept the original name, changing the codename as they had presumed they would replace the 911 later in its life. Sort of odd to think that if Porsche had their way, the 928 would've replaced the 911, and we'd have none of this rear-engine stuff anymore.
